Pyro laughs, making a subtle effort to pull his hands away, but Owen doesn’t let him have it. He’s been giving the brat far too much leeway lately, leaving the discipline up to Scott. He has to put his foot down somewhere. “I take it you’re feeling motherly today,” they say.
Owen grits his teeth. This is the problem, isn’t it? He knows how he looks, but he can’t do anything about it, not when—well. It doesn’t matter. Shelby’s little experiment has given him a new idea, though.
If he can’t get Pyro to respect him like this, maybe he can bring them down to his level.

"Owen," protested the girl, and her face came into view. "You're scaring him!"
She looked young. Not much younger than Avid himself though— her hair was a deep russet red, her skin pale and dusted with freckles along the nose. She looked like any other girl in any other village, with an expensive looking skirt and a contrastingly simple woolen jumper. Her hair was plaited into ribbons, gathered in two elaborate bunches to either temple. It made her look younger than she was, combined with the careless way she knelt in the dirt, and the smoke, and the widening puddle of blood that Avid couldn't see the source of.
But when she saw Avid cowering in his stinking bloody box, she smiled, and Avid saw two very sharp teeth.

Technically, nothing is wrong with this picture. 14 humans gather in the remains of Oakhurst just shy of the 200 year anniversary of the massacre of some odd 2,799 people. But that's not quite right, is it? There isn't 14 humans. And they didn't all just get here. Some are much older, much angrier, much more dangerous than just having walked into town some foggy mid-morning.
Worse yet, some of them are conspiring.

Avid knows that Scott is a vampire, of course he knows. Scott wasn’t even trying to hide it. But everyone in town was getting tired of Avid repeatedly accusing Scott of being a vampire. So instead, he chose to keep an eye on the blue-haired man, which led to him trying to walk backward toward his house.
But what Avid didn’t know was how he had somehow ended up lying naked in a big fancy bed, with an even more obvious vampire, and equally naked, Scott. And why was everyone and everything so different from how he remembered them.

Includes character re-development for Pyro, Owen, Legundo, and Shelby (And Scott and Avid ofc) that's mostly centered on their relationship or connection to Pyro and Owen 'killing' Avid.
Small developments on Pearl, Drift, and Cleo, but more as an extension of something else than their own storyline.
There's seldom development for characters Martyn, Ren, Apo, Cleo, Abolish, and Sausage. That group is generally the same relevance as they are in Scott's episode 8 for reference.Written mostly before episode came out up until chapter 5.
