Summary
When Scott went to the trouble of finding a magic user to help him sustain his immortality, even against vampiric means of death, it seemed like a great idea. He wanted to live forever, and the magic made sure that a little stake of wood couldn't be the thing to do him in. Which was shown to be necessary, considering the attack on him that occurred soon thereafter.
Unfortunately, it seems that the upset masses scrounged themselves up a magic user too. No one so talented or skilled, of course. Only money can bring that. But the witch got their job done in a simpler way.
By enchanting the tomb they shoved him into to never open again.

Summary
Technically, nothing is wrong with this picture. 14 humans gather in the remains of Oakhurst just shy of the 200 year anniversary of the massacre of some odd 2,799 people. But that's not quite right, is it? There isn't 14 humans. And they didn't all just get here. Some are much older, much angrier, much more dangerous than just having walked into town some foggy mid-morning.
Worse yet, some of them are conspiring.

Summary
It seemed that every new day brought Pyro more and more suffering. So many new things he never once in his life thought about having to deal with appearing, not letting him catch a break and one particular person that turned his life upside down.
Scott is doing everything he is used to doing - being a sire to his coven, and therefore taking all their fates in his hands. When he discovers that not everything is as expected, he decides to make it work in his favour, though not without consequences and byproducts on the way.

Waking up in the middle of a field was disorienting to say the least. Not the weirdest thing Scott has woken to, not by a long shot, but still disorienting none the less. Looking around, he could see that he was standing in a circle of other equally confused people…fuck he knows these people. A very confused looking Cleo was across from him, Joel near them and Jimmy a couple people down. Looking closer at the others, he knew everyone. What the hell is this?
Basically, I read multiple fics and listened to Noah Kahan for the first time and decided to rewrite canon to include angstier times for Scott and Jimmy because I never left the flower field. I did change a couple of key events for this fic I know, but the canon makes sense in my head I swear :)

Scott thinks for a long minute. He knows that being able to identify his feelings should be an easy thing to do but after centuries of ‘repression’ as Shelby would say he’s lost practice. “I do get the same feeling of not wanting to immediately rip his head off, but there's also something… different.” Shelby nods encouraging him to continue. “Theres a sense of familiarity to him but I know I’ve never seen him around before coming here and he doesn't have the features of a vampire. I think there's also- I feel a sense of softness towards him. And I feel like a sickness in my stomach when he smiles.”
Shelby smiles insanely wide. “Scott, I have been waiting for this day since we left Oakhurst. I think you have a crush on this guy!”
Scott blinks. Slowly. “No… I, don't want to crush him.”

'They say every 200 years there's a massacre'.
Did their time in Oakhurst count as a massacre? The body count was pathetic, really, compared to the numbers he alone had caused in the past. But maybe it wasn't the number that had mattered. The percentage, perhaps. So few had died, but so few had been there to die in the first place. It was too vague. Too uncertain. And Scott was thinking about it again when he had promised himself he was not going to.

Its 2025, and 200 years have passed since Scott, Shelby and Drift walked out of Oakhurst. They've been going back every year to visit since, so it shouldn't be any different this time. If they ignore the curse, that is. Which was Scott's plan, until Abolish reveals he's still alive and is going to be going with them to Oakhurst this time. And when they get there, Cleo and Pearl have bad news. It seems danger is still coming for Oakhurst. And it's wearing a friend's face.

Somewhere not so far west from the South…
Scott watched the sun sink slowly beyond the horizon, its warm orange light spilling across the fields of flowers he had tended and loved for years. The quiet moment was broken only by the soft whistle of a kettle on the stove, signaling that the water was ready.
He poured the steaming water into a white cup, the heat coaxing the fragrance from the tea leaves within. A gentle stir, slow and practiced, and it was done. Scott lifted the cup, blowing softly across the surface as he prepared to drink.
His peaceful afternoon, however, was interrupted by a knock at the door. With a low hum, he set the cup down upon the wooden table and made his way over, unhurried. When he opened the door, surprise stole his breath.
Standing there was a tall blond boy with eyes deep of brown cocoa beans. Yellow folded wings on his back with a pair of small ones on his head, both unpreened. Marking him as something far from ordinary. A hybrid. Scott has heard and seen them. This was no greater example.

Summary

But instead of ending up in the afterlife, Scott wakes up in his coffin, in the ruins of his manor, and finds everyone back at town.
He has a chance to come out on top and he is not willing to waste it.

Scott Goldsmith was an insufferable prick, only coming to the cafe when Avid was working, and only ever ordering one of the most expensive drinks on the menu. Iced latte, almond milk, creamer. And it wasn’t like Avid had chosen to memorize it, needing to make the stupid drink every day he worked had drilled it into his head.
“I assume your usual order.” Avid noted, tone stiff, not the professional kind, but in the manner that displayed audibly how much he disliked the other man.
“That would be lovely.” Scott replied in that smooth accent.
He never did catch onto the disdain in Avid’s voice, if he did, he didn’t care.

Summary
Two hundred years after the events that took place in Oakhurst, Scott, Shelby, and Drift are on their annual trip to the town. This year, instead of a still grave, they find Avid, just coming out of a long stay in Limbo. His arrival, though it is much-appreciated, upsets the peaceful lives of the remaining vampires, and forces them to face head-on long buried problems, feelings, and memories. As for Avid, he feels like a stranger to this modern world, trying to slot himself back into place where he used to fit neatly. But maybe, just maybe, this development is exactly what they all need.
