Sure, there are things to enjoy about trashy novels from time to time. For instance, the fact that you can turn your brain off and pretend you’re in another world for a while. But Mike is pretty sure that he won’t be heading toward that aisle of the bookstore any time soon. Definitely not. In fact, he isn’t even a little bit curious about what happens next between Lord Fabian and Lady Larissa. He’s more than happy to forget about them entirely—heaving bosoms and all.
It’s a month before graduation, and things are finally starting to go back to normal in Hawkins. After years of constant life-or-death situations, everyone is trying to relax and make up for lost time. Unfortunately, Mike’s body also appears to be making up for lost time—in ways that Mike finds utterly mortifying.
TLDR; Mike is dealing with late-onset teenage horniness, and starts writing smut about it. Things get decidedly non-heterosexual pretty quickly.

But the Dessendre family are not the only ones suffering the consequences of that disastrous plan when Alicia getting stuck in Verso's childhood canvas and an entirely different life leads to Noah getting stuck there as well.
Now Noah is back, bringing with him the memories of dying in a world that no longer exists and an entire lifetime in which Verso meant nothing to him. Meanwhile, Alicia struggles with adjusting back to a life she no longer wants and still doesn't know that Verso is alive - as is Gustave, in a way.But those turn out to be the least of their problems as the conflict between the Writers and the Painters takes a turn for the worse and either side expresses their displeasure with the events that lead to that escalation, and the people responsible for them.

Seonghwa crouched down next to Hongjoong, who flinched slightly but, for once, didn't move, didn't run away. Though he kept his gaze fixed on the same spot.
Seonghwa looked down at what caught the other man’s attention so hard he stayed still for longer than ten minutes. It was… Dry grass at the feet of a tree. Very dry, surely dead from the heat of the past few days.
Hongjoong shook his head softly, only then Seonghwa realised he had spoken aloud.
“You don’t think it is from the heat of the past few days?” He asked, his head tilting cutely on the side.
Hongjoong shook his head again.
“It’s not,” When the word left his mouth, Seonghwa almost jumped at how pretty his voice was. How deep it resonated into his head. How much it unsettled him.
“W-what is it then?” He asked shakily, trying not to make things weird.
Hongjoong stayed silent for a while. So long Seonghwa almost thought he imagined his voice in his head.
Then—
“It’s the mountain spirit,” Hongjoong spoke again, his voice deep, carrying something really, really sad within it, “It’s dying.”
