Ilya is right.
Shane's in an accident, and other than the drunk driver calling emergency services, he's useless to help. Shane's trapped, unconscious in his burning car, but Ilya arrives to save him.
Afterward, they're both injured in different ways and the road to recovery involves more than just physical healing. If that wasn't bad enough, they also have to deal with the media frenzy. Ilya is told he's a hero, but he doesn't feel like he is, not when he's also a huge liar.
If this sounds familiar and you were around a few yrs ago, you may’ve read the tiny one shot with a similar plot I wrote, planning to continue it as a series and never did.
