And while it had felt strange to think about him being my client again, I also don’t know how I feel about not having him as my client. My only similar frame of reference is when I’ve done duo missions with Three, since it’s not like we consider ourselves each others’ clients (that would be stupid). I’ve never worked like that with a human, instead of a SecUnit…but, if I’m going to try it with anyone, I guess it makes sense for it to be Gurathin. My brilliant augmented human. My partner.

Murderbot and Gurathin have to get all dressed up and infiltrate a corporate gala for absolutely necessary and 100% plot-based reasons (that have nothing to do with the author just thinking that would be fun to write).
