The city hums under a gray morning sky. As the colourful leaves fall behind the windows of Hiroki Dan’s office at the Investigation Division Unit 1, Hiroki opens a file with the newest case assigned to him. His desk is neatly organized. Files stacked, coffee still warm in a small clay mug, which was supposed to resemble bear, but looks more like a cat.
In a file he sees a name and picture of the unemployed murderer and meth addict, Kurou Otoharada, arrested by Soichiro Yagami ten years ago. He was recently released on parole but fled, killing first a taxi driver and stealing his fares, then a police officer and stealing his gun.
Yesterday, Otoharada killed and injured six people in a shopping center with the stolen gun and then escaped. Now it's up to Chief Dan and his team to find and arrest him.Hiroki doesn’t blink. His fingers pause over the paper. His eye subtly twitches.

Summary
Light wasn't delusional enough to say what they did was “making love.” L always collapsed into the mattress early. His body yielded, limbs folding loosely beneath Light’s. Hands thrown over his abdomen, over the tatami cushions, underneath or between his thighs. The sheets gathered around him in soft disarray, dark hair fanning across the pillow in stringy strands he could sometimes count. His stillness felt like clouds, as if he were constructed from cloth and thread rather than flesh and bone. A lifeless thing.
Light is his and L is his doll, come to life by his will and his will alone.

Summary
When Light first presented, his life became hell. Not because of his own uncontrolled hormones, urges or ruts, or his changing body—no. It was his sharper sense of smell. He could smell everything now—and everyone.
His alpha peers always gloated about just how horny omega scents made them, or how good omegas smelled—but Light never understood. While, sure, they smelled nice, they were all way too strong for Light to enjoy in any capacity. He had to start taking medication to dull his over-sensitivity, but even then, it never fully went away.
And so, Light worked through his aversion when he needed to. Forced himself to go out with various omega women—dating them, kissing them, fucking them. Not that he really enjoyed it—but it was almost like a weird sort of ritual of control for Light. It made him feel normal, in a way, and like he was proving a feat of mental strength by forcing himself through it.
He got pretty good at not only acting out this lie of normalcy, but living it. He’d almost convinced himself.
And then, he got chained to a detective who's smell he could actually tolerate.
