This was intended to explore the timeline of Quasimodo slowly losing bits of his hearing over time until it was nearly all gone, since it was of particular interest to the writer of Quasimodo and I at the time. This one was clearly started over last Christmas Eve.

- - - - - - -A couple of weeks after Esmeralda agrees to Claude's offer on the pyre in an AU setting. The Archdeacon has been keeping the girl in his chambers, locked away, and of course, has shared very little information with Quasimodo. In fact, he barely sees Quasimodo at all. Tension slowly amounts as Quasimodo is slowly put in new situations that will test his fading loyalty to the man who raised him, as the desperate desire to save Esmeralda once more only grows stronger. Claude, on the other hand, is only internally troubled by the entire situation as he slowly slips with his ability to balance keeping the girl content and hidden and keeping Quasimodo at bay and rebuilding whatever is left between them, if anything at all.

I, a researcher in the early 2020s, began learning of some of these more unlikely and unusual happenings that are seldom found outside forgotten tomes and library archives quite by accident, and have taken it upon myself to piece together what happened, no matter how unlikely these events may seem...
