The path lead him to work for a being from down under who basically had him around as entertainment, like a court jester. Luckily, he was only left with a curse and some powers, and his soul wasn't part of the deal, so at least he's still whole. Now, he has decided to join the phoenix program out of a whim, and he has no clue how this would go, but he knows that this could be a turning point.
