    Summary

Two decades ago, the Blight was ended by a legend. Now, as the Veil shatters once more, the Hero of Ferelden returns to a world that has forgotten the true cost of salvation.

While the people look to Marcius—the man they call Rook—as their new lighthouse, those closest to the Amell bloodline begin to feel the chill of a gathering storm. Behind the masks of divinity and the desperate decrees of the Chantry, secrets are festering. Memories have been stolen, old alliances have turned into cages, and the weight of a forced peace is beginning to crush the very people it was meant to protect.

In a game played by gods and monsters, Emmrich Volkarin struggles to find the woman he loves beneath the shadow of a growing ambition. But some burdens are too heavy for any mortal to carry, and when the price of victory becomes higher than the soul can pay, the only way to win is to break the world entirely.

    Summary

Varric Tethras found an outsider with a resume that might make the Dread Wolf listen, before Thedas pays for his choices. Again. This Rook is no mage, no Dalish, and no one’s idea of a savior.

A slow burn romance that asks if one person can truly save a world.

Multi-fandom crossover elements, but familiarity isn’t required. Setting is Dragon Age, Thedas.

    Summary

No longer the Inquisitor, now a member of the Veilguard, Ellana finally locates Solas taking down the Veil. In a change of fate, instead of Varric, Ellana is stabbed in the disrupted ritual. Solas manages to save her life, but this forms a blood bond between the estranged couple.

Now a heart broken former inquisitor and the Dread Wolf must learn to work together to stop the escaped gods.

“If you want me to say that I'm sorry for stopping your ritual, that is never going to happen. What I can apologize for is not doing it sooner.” Ellana said. “You are hardly blameless.”

Solas's face was pale, his eyes dark. “I am well aware of my role in recent events. I continue to seek a way to fix what has been broken. And you are not as unwilling to accept my help as you would desire me to think.”

Ellana flushed at his choice of words and from his amused expression she knew that he had intended just such a reaction. What game was he playing?

As if reading her mind Solas asked, “Why does Varric call you Rook?”

Cole answered, “He calls her that as a reminder.”

“A reminder? Of what exactly?” Solas asked.

Ellana explained simply. “That I'm nobody's pawn.”

    Summary

Ella was ready. He daughter was due to be born any time now and she'd prepared everything to make sure it went smoothly.

    But Thedas had other plans.

Dragged far from London into a world of demons, cults, wars and magic, Ella found herself the reluctant figurehead for an Inquisition she never asked for. Learning to navigate the politics of impossible countries, leadership and saving the world was one thing. Figuring out who she was when everything she believed about herself turned out to be wrong is quite another.

Could a certain, fascinating elven mage help there as well?

A retelling of the Dragon Age Inquisition story, from a different perspective.

    Summary

The Conclave has been destroyed, the Divine murdered. Thedas is reeling, from the Breach, from invading demons and from despair.

Whilst there was still hope, in the form of an unknown woman who seemed to be able to heal the rifts, was she truly a Herald for Andraste? How could she be a messenger from the Maker, when she couldn’t say a word?

With too many nicknames and disgusted grunts to count, this is a retelling of the Dragon Age Inquisition story, with a very different Herald.

    Summary

Dain Cadash probably shouldn’t be a Warden. He definitely shouldn’t be the last line of defence against the Blight alongside Cassandra, the only other surviving Warden in Ferelden.

He was saved from certain death by a Witch of the Wilds who seemed all too eager to offer her daughter, Bethany, up to the Warden cause. There’s a dog, an Antivan Chantry Brother, and a huge-horned Qunari who calls himself Bull. Together with a Necromantic Circle mage, a very broody ex-Crow, and a red-headed, freckled dwarf the unlikely crew set off to stop the Blight before it is too late.

    Summary

This is the sequel to More of a Rook than a Crow, which in turn is technically a sequel to Dragon Age the Veilguard. This means major spoilers for Veilguard!

Thedas is saved, which means that Isabella can return to the fold as Lucanis begins his new work as well. However, with a strange letter addressed to her at Villa Dellamorte, she is asked to discuss something that Viago was hoping to sweep under the rug.

The King of Antiva has learned that Rook was a Crow, and Rook has been summoned for an audience with the King. Only, Isabella hasn't gone by that name for several months and very few people knew who Rook really was. Is it a trap, or does the King really just want to extend his personal thanks to her for saving the world?

And when cloaked figures appear to pave the path for those from across the sea, it seems that Isabella might need to get the Veilguard back together to find out exactly what is going on.

    Summary

“As I said, it’s unorthodox. You see, I found myself in a rather specific predicament. More accurately, my department has found itself in deep water and we require a more… charismatic hand to guide it back to safe shores.”

The professor nearly winced when he saw the shift in Rook’s expression. He knew this plan was utter rubbish. He should have brushed off Johanna’s prodding. He should have laughed off Strife’s suggestion of a solution to the problem and Johanna’s blustering. If he had done the more sensible thing of simply finding another student, a real student, then he wouldn’t be in such a terribly awkward situation.

“And naturally there is no one more charismatic than a prostitute.” Rook jabbed, though Emmrich wasn’t sure if she was being sarcastic or not.

“Miss Rook, I would like to make it very clear that I have nothing but respect for your profession-”

“Well that’s a relief, then. Otherwise you would have broken my little heart.” She pouted humorously. “Sounds like you need a miracle worker. Or a fantasy. I guess that explains why you went looking for us.” She mused. After all, the tagline wasn’t ‘The Crows rule fantasy and they can set you free’ for nothing.

    Summary

Magic is not a dog, eager to heel at your side and do your bidding. Magic is a wolf; wild and unpredictable, every spell cast is an exchange between the mage and a wild creature. You can only direct Magic, bottleneck it or flood it, but never ‘control’ it. That is the biggest misconception with mages. Those with great skill are either lucky, or know when to cut off their magical supply so as not to drown in the abyss.

When a little pawn makes it to the other side of the board, she becomes the Inquisitor. When a Rook unexpectedly takes the board, three elven gods move to intercept her.

What if Emmrich Volkarin was there from the beginning? He saw a promising young necromancer rise to the honored rank of Inquisitor, only for him to come crashing into another gifted mage fifteen years later. The world a little darker, a little colder, and their enemies hauntingly the same.
