Sebastian Vael's villain origin story!
The third prince of Starkhaven has had less than the ideal life one would expect a royal to have. He's managed to survive and fight back against the daily assaults, abuses, and neglect of his parents to forge close relationships with his brothers and pursue his rebellion in secret. Everything comes to a head when Sebastian finds himself exiled from his homeland at the age of fifteen and sold into the service of the Chantry at the Grand Cathedral in Val Royeaux under the pretense that he will join the Brotherhood when he comes of age whether he likes it or not.
As he rails against his fate looming years in the distance, Sebastian finds more freedom than he'd ever expect and more trouble than he's truly ready for when his path crosses with a seedy double life in the slums of Orlais that's just too good to pass up.

A hypothetical look into an alternate universe where the fourth Dragon Age had a tad fewer problems in its 10-year development cycle.
Disclaimer: I don't hate the game, I actually think it's quite great given the development hell Bioware went through in those 10 years. This is more of a hypothetical universe where there was less of that behind-the-scenes drama. Just a fun writing exercise.
