The Grey Wardens from two decades ago came to his mind. King Alistair and… Mahina. Beautiful, lovely, and cruel. It was exceedingly cruel at the conclusion. To defeat the archdemon and save all of Ferelden from the blight, she sacrificed herself so Alistair could be king.

Everything was bathed in blood-red hue. She saw remnants of what could only be described as Arlathan. Beautiful cities are now laying in ruin. She slowly walked through the torn streets cautiously, constantly looking around thinking something was going to pop up and ambush her. But her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a monstrous roar. Several actually and the sound of a wolf. Amanatha sprinted towards the sounds, leaping over and sliding under the debris until she found herself blocked by what appeared to be mutated plants. The roars sounded again, and she spotted the source ahead. She saw what looked to be several corrupt dragons, even more massive than the dragons in the waking world. Something stirred within her. Something familiar and terrifying. A dark howl ripped through the sky. It was defiant but singular and radiated a power she had not felt before, yet it was familiar. Her eyes widened in surprise as she rounded a corner. A wolf as black as night with six eyes as red as a burning fire stood before the several dragons.

“Stop thanking me.”
What answered Fenris was not gratitude this time, but a torrent of yearning for warmth. Their lips welcomed each other’s with hunger and their hands gripped on each other as if there was nothing else in the forgotten by the Maker darkness. Fenris all but ripped off his gauntlets and let them rest somewhere on the shore of the stream, all so that he could dig his fingers into the long blond hair tarnished with blood and blight and soot.
A collection of scenes spread throughout their time in Kirkwall that tell the story of how Anders and Fenris grew closer, until eventually deciding to leave the City of Chains together before it swallowed them both in its madness.

“Really.” Zevran laughed. “Lucanis does not want to become First Talon. So, we let him run off to do something he does want to do. What he might not realize is that this is getting him ready to be First Talon. He’s learning to manage people, interact outside of a job, and take command of problems.”
“No shit? There’s that much similarity between Crow work and the Crow here?”
“You’d be surprised.”
“You really care to help him, don’t you?”
“Si. And, our meddling might just prove to him that he does still have emotions.”
“How’s that going, anyway?” Varric raised a brow.
“She stayed the night. I’d say well.” Zevran poured him another shot. “He smiles now, it isn’t just a mask. But there is still progress to be made if all this will be permanent for him.”
“And how is your own attempt coming?” Zevran poured himself a shot and drank in answer. “That badly?” Varric grimaced.
“I’ll get to the bottom of this, eventually.”
“The bottle or her resistance?”
“Both.” Zevran sighed heavily. -
