Rumi’s silhouette began to quiver, twisting into a spasm of shadows that reflected a macabre image: she no longer saw her best friend, but the projection of a version of herself she had been trying to escape for years.
Her mother’s voice echoed in her temples.
Monster.
Another heartbeat. So heavy and frantic it made her stagger from within.
She swallowed; the taste was metal and panic.
An electric jolt. Painful. Crushing.

Previously titled “Lovers Know No Shame”. Full disclaimer I originally wanted to tittle this fic after Dua Lipa's "Be the one" and then idk why I didn't and put that other name instead but I feel like it didn't say anything about my fic at all and I just think this new one is better!
This fic focuses on Robin and Nancy as they help Max recover from her coma, which leads them to slowly realize there might be something more between them than just friendship. It’s a fill-in-the-gap story set between the final battle and the epilogue.
While Max is recovering both physically and emotionally, Robin and Nancy find themselves stepping into a bit of a guardian role for her.
Steve is also here for the funzies! Plus, you can’t leave out Robin’s platonic with capital P soulmate, right?
Expect lots of comfort, fluff, self-discovery, found family, and a very slow burn Ronance, with a pinch of light angst — but don’t worry, Ronance endgame is guaranteed.
Chapter count is an approximate but most likely will go up.

These scenes are not the main focus of the series, the border series focus on what is happening in the border between Navarre and Poromiel and covers events from Navarrian riders and Poromish fliers perspective.
