In the aftermath of Neil’s death, Todd arrives at a conflict with himself. Try to forget the sun of his world, the boy who brightened his very life, become successful like his parents have always wanted him to, or live each day remembering him, go through life with the constant weight of what could have been.
In which Todd chooses to keep the memory of Neil with him, refusing to let go of the past, and maybe that isn’t so bad like so many people say. Keeping a part of the boy he loved with him throughout his life helped him get through tough times, happy and sad days alike. Through keeping Neil’s memory alive, Todd learns how to process his best friend’s death and turn his bleak future around.

Summary
Neil tries to run out but the once wide, open door is replaced by a wall of person. His full body slams into this stranger because of how fast he was moving and how little he was paying attention, which winds up with them both on the floor. Neil recovers quickly and is on his feet in a split second. The distractingly attractive stranger with dirty blonde hair and striking blue eyes looks incredibly disoriented, and reasonably so, as to why they are on the floor.

Unfortunately, it seems that it’s been decided that 18-year-old infuriatingly smug (and objectively handsome, it’s not gay to point that out) Gregory House is the man for the job.
As the two’s oddly complicated relationship blossoms over their love for pranks, scraping gum off of desks, and The Rolling Stones, James has to wonder if Todd was actually just projecting when he said there was something different about him, or if it was true… And if it was, if Gregory would take him back, after James had lit his life up in flames.. again.
