Summary
Buck never imagined a movie would have him planning something as detailed as an altar for Dia de los muertos, but oh well.
It wasn't anything new; he couldn't say no to the opportunity to make his Diaz boys happy. So, between research and conversations about remembering the dead, Buck learns more about traditions, part of the Diaz family history, and a new side of Eddie, all while making a dream come true—something Chris wanted to do thanks to Coco.
Meanwhile, Eddie remembers the past, suffering as he thinks about the losses he's endured, questioning how everything changed when Buck entered his life and his son's. He joins this adventure to celebrate life and the memory of his wife, even though everything ended unresolved.
And how can we forget Eddie Diaz, melting, speechless, and overwhelmed with emotion as he sees everything Buck is doing for them?
Or...
Thanks to watching Coco Eddie finds the way back to one of his favorites traditions while trying to deal and not avoid Shannon´s memory and failing to keep everything Buck makes him feel.

Summary
“Anyways. As I was saying,” she pauses to give him a significant look, the smell of her amusement thick in his nose, “what could it hurt? I know you’ve been a little lonely, and there’s no reason not to give it a shot now! The house is entirely unpacked, and decorated even, because I’ve never seen anyone nest as much as you do. And you’re done with the academy and your parents still haven’t reached out. Come ooooon, Eddie,” she finishes with a whine.
“No.”
“Eddie.”
“No!”
“Edmundo,” She pushes, purposefully over pronouncing the syllables of his name and he glares at her.
“I’m not taking part in a fucking mating run, Shan! Drop it.”
She rolls her eyes, finishing off her beer and then snatching his up and chugging that one as well.
“I’ll convince you,” she mutters, pretending to gag at the warm beer.
“No you won’t,” he laughs.

Buck's woodworking breakup hobby was short-lived. But he did manage to make one thing that was decent: a Little Free Library. Little did he know, it would bring him something much more exciting than his neighbors' spare books.

“So, basically, you have a crush,” Maddie says with a smirk.
“What? No! I’ve never had a conversation with him! Hell, I don’t even know what the guy looks like!” Buck insists, turning back to the pasta sauce that’s simmering on the stove. “I’m just saying he has really good taste in books, okay?”
Maddie raises a disbelieving eyebrow. “Really good taste, and really queer taste…”
“And?” Buck scoffs. “There are plenty of ugly, awful gay men in Los Angeles. I just got dumped by one.” He spoons out a bit of the marinara and holds it out to Maddie. “Here, taste this.”
She does, and narrows her eyes slightly. “Mm, more basil I think.”
“Are you sure?” Buck has a taste of his own and concedes, “Yeah, you’re absolutely right.”
“I know,” Maddie says. “I’m right about most things.”
“You’re right about the basil and only the basil.”

Summary
"Evan!" The man's shout slipped from the open door, and Eddie's ears perked up. A boy? Was it someone his age? "Get your box inside, now."
Without realising what he was doing, Eddie leaned forward in his seat when he saw a boy his age running through the door. This has to be Evan. His hair appeared golden as the last strays of the evening sun kissed the top of his head. His eyes followed him as he picked up a cardboard box from the car parked in front of the house and ran back inside, barely even being able to see over it.
"Edmundo!" His mother's voice forced him to stand up, but he did not look away until the front door of the house across the street closed behind the golden boy, behind Evan.
Or
Eddie and Buck grew up together and throughout the years they fall in love but are both too dumb to do anything about it!

Summary
Maybe Eddie should’ve listened to his Abuela’s warnings (“Always lock your doors, Edmundo, and never go out in the dark at night,” she’d told him, “Los que tienen hambre no pueden ser melindrosos. If it wants to eat, it will.”) but he’d just been a kid, naive and clueless and ever so skeptical. Even present-day—as he came home from a long day of Uber-ing from dawn to dusk, stripping his clothes off and walking into the shower ready for the soothing hot water only to find it freezing cold, going outside of his fixer-upper of a house to go to the back and check if there was a problem with his haphazardly installed water heater with the only external light source being the phone that he held in his hand—he was naive.
So maybe he should’ve listened, but he hadn’t. And he wasn’t able to get the chance to regret that fact before getting bitten and dragged off by a growling creature on all fours.
Eddie gets bitten and infected by a chupacabra, Buck has to use his powers as a witch to help him.

Summary
Great, he wasn’t getting through that door anytime soon. His eyes wander around the room. It’s a boring four-by-four brick-walled covered room, and the floor beneath him is cold, hard, and concrete. It’s a basic room with nothing in it, except for him and a man curled up in the corner. Wait? What? A man curled up in the corner of the room with his knees pulled tightly to his chest and his bruised, pale face staring at the wall in front of him. He barely noticed him in the corner; he was quiet, almost stoic, and had obviously been here long before he was.
Or...
Eddie is kidnapped and thrown into a room all alone until he spots another person in there with him. Maybe he's not alone, but who is the man in the corner? How long has he been here? Can they trust each other to get out of here together? Will their bond keep them close? Or will they be separated when the opportunity arises?
