When Alastor died, all he ever wanted was to be free and be entertained. Death was forever, and forever was long and boring. And that boredom had become one thing he truly feared now.
But, as the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for.
Little did he know that one day a child with the smile of pure sunshine was going to be at his door step and somehow drag him into a deeper world of Hell's politics. Not just the battles of Overlords of Pentagram City, but the games played behind the curtains of Hell's seven rings.

He supposes it’s because Vox is just that pathetic. He’s lost it all: the company that bears his own name, the power, the ego. Not his partners, though of course that might change the moment either Velvette or Valentino realize what’s happening right beneath their noses. And as much as Alastor hates the idea of anyone associating him with something as vile as sex, he can’t deny the thrill in the idea of somebody catching them in the act as he graciously allows Vox to rut against him like an animal in heat.

Once Vox went by a different name. Not Vincent. A different name that brought him shame and tasted bitter on his tongue. Even then, some of his happiest memories are from when he bore that name. But now those memories are tainted by his current reality and rivalry with the Radio Demon.
Unbeknownst to everyone but himself, Vox and Alastor knew each other once while in life. It was a secret he had carried for decades but now as he lay broken in the wake of his defeat he couldn’t help himself to spit the truth back in Alastor’s face. The look of shock on the face of his once husband was the greatest present to Vox as he welcomed the promise of death with open arms.
His only regret? Not being able to see his daughter in Heaven one last time.

Shen Yuan isn't lonely. He's just overseas in a new city, trying to muddle his way through a business degree, and dealing with the side effects of his stupid intestines trying to kill him. So, maybe he sometimes watches ASMR to cope with his too-quiet apartment. Maybe he has a little bit of a parasocial-relationship-thing going on with one particular cooking ASMR channel. It's 2016, who doesn't? The point is, he's content with his quiet life.
And then Shang Qinghua strong-arms him into watching one Hallmark Christmas movie, and it all goes to hell.
Or: Shen Yuan is a Hallmark movie protagonist, Luo Binghe is a Lifetime movie protagonist, and somehow they make it work.

That's what he needed to snap out of it. A quiet but resounding “Oh” reverberated through his skull. He swallowed down the remaining bile and anguish, grabbed his keys from his pocket out of pure impulse and searched for the key that had felt so big when Eddie first slipped it into his palm. It didn't feel big now, it felt small as it kept slipping through his shaking fingers.
"Buck, what-"
He slid the key off, smacking it against the kitchen island and turned on his heel, marching out of the house.
Eddie didn't follow after him.
That felt more clear than anything Eddie had tried to say to him.
Or: Buck confesses his feelings for Eddie, Eddie reacts poorly and then clears up some things. They figure things out together.

Now Alastor is having both trouble with his mind and the injury from Adam, and Lucifer is starting to realize he might just be over his ex wife.
