Etho grinned passed the annoyance, tail swishing along Ren’s thighs as he pushed against his chest to make him lay down. Hips slowing, Ren let out a groan that went straight to Etho’s core. “Can’t unlock it my king,” Etho teased breathlessly, readjusting himself on Ren’s lap before lining his cock up again. “I don’t have the key.”
Running a hand down Ren’s chest, Etho enjoyed the feeling of firm muscle under his palm before sliding back down. A tight grip around his hips, a cock filling him just right, Ren really knew how to please a guy.

A bolt of what looks like black lightning slams into the dirt, scorching the area where they had just been standing.
Not the warmest of greetings, but not surprising either.
Gem bares her teeth, raising her wings and looking up towards the house. Pearl is perched on the railing, her sword leveled at a shadowy figure standing in front of the door. The whole world seems to freeze as the shadow’s head tilts. It lifts its hand slowly, pointing a finger at Pearl, and then draws it diagonally across its body. A rip appears and splits across his body. Dark, voidic tentacles erupt from the rip, grab hold of Pearl and yank her in. The rip closes behind her.
“Pearl!” Gem screams.

Scar stands in the kitchen, his cat, Jellie in his arms.
“Daddy, what are you making?” Scar asks, adjusting his hold on the gray and white cat.
"A peanut butter and jelly sandwich and ants on a log.” Etho says, grabbing the jar of peanut butter and a butter knife, spreading the peanut butter on the inside curve of the celery.
Scar sticks out his tongue, making a face, “Eww, I don’t want to eat bugs like Bdubs.”
“First, your brother does not eat bugs…anymore, and second, they don't actually want Scar, they are raisins.” Etho chuckles.
“Oh.” Scar says.

Joel was wearing his stupid see-through-paper-thin t-shirt again. Etho swore to god that he had thrown that shirt in the garbage the last time the two of them cleaned out the house, mainly because of the before mentioned thinness of the material. It had to be at least ten years old, and the fact that it didn’t have any holes in it was a miracle in itself. Another miracle was the apparent second coming of the shirt, or Joel had noticed Etho’s attempt to get rid of it and fished it out of the trash bag before without him noticing. Either way, it really wasn’t the problem Etho was having, though it did send a tiny flash of annoyance down Etho’s spine when he realized what Joel was wearing.
No, Etho really didn’t care that much that Joel was wearing the stupid tee-shirt again, it was that Etho didn’t think he looked completely ugly while doing so.
Which was weird.
Or: Etho realizes he might like Joel a bit more than a friend, and promptly spirals through the five stages of grief

Getting the hint, Etho hands him the guitar, and Joel takes it easily, his fingers gently ghosting over the strings, running across the small dent at the base, and, finally, experimentally strumming a chord. Etho watches with an unfamiliar amount of interest. Joel’s hands are nice to look at, he’s discovering quickly. They look rough. Calloused, although he’s learned that’s true of any guitar player. Vaguely, he wonders what the texture would feel like on his own hands. They’re big, too, Etho notes.
Alright, he’s been looking at Joel’s hands for… maybe a little too long now, probably, so he pulls his eyes away, swallowing. That was not weird. Don’t make it weird.
