It makes him want to wince, recoil into himself, at his own wretched state, but he stays. Stills himself for the answer, heart rattling against his ribcage in what might be fear.

Flins' eyes seem dim underneath the pale moonlight reflecting off the water. Lifeless. His limbs twist oddly when he turns.
They stand close, almost touching, and Illuga feels the heat crawling up the back of his neck alongside the sudden queasiness.
Flins' smile stretches wide when he speaks.
