Hua let out a sigh as she sprayed the plants down with one hand, the other leaning on a nearby wooden fence. She hadn’t felt this peaceful in so long, she almost forgot what it was like. To be fair, Honkai never really gave her the break she needed.
Until now.
And with its disappearance, many new things came into life. Being able to live a peaceful life once more, taking up old lost hobbies from a time long gone, and being able to more freely traverse the world without a worry about needing to fight something.
In fact, even as she did nothing more than teach people how to do martial arts while tending to her garden, she found herself at the most peaceful she can ever feel in a long time.
Well, it isn’t as peaceful now as it is, but truth be told, she didn’t mind the commotion.
Because if it’s your kids causing the commotion, well who can complain?
A burst of laughter and water sprays are heard as the 2 youngsters play with one another, spraying water at each other. Hua chuckled, looking at them.
H : Zhaoyu, Liang! Don’t trip on the potatoes!
Z & L : Yes mom!
She smiles as she watches them play. Moments like these; so rare in her life yet so overwhelmingly warm when she feels it. To think that many years ago, their existence was never even planned.
One man started it all. She felt his hand tap her shoulder.
Sebastian : Having another water fight, eh?
H : As they always do. I think you must’ve done this a lot in the past.
S : Haha, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
The couple laugh before Seb, pulled in by the older Zhaoyu, goes to play by splashing along. Hua just watches with a smile. She waters her flowers before standing up straight, admiring her patch as she steps out of the lawn area.
S : Hua!
H : Hmm?
Z : Join us mama!
H : Ahahaha! I’ll just watch you guys.
L : Aw~ mama won’t join~
S : Oh I have an idea, huddle around kids.
Hua turns away with a chuckle, watching the sunset in the horizon far away.
That is, until a massive splash of water engulfs her from behind, causing her hair to spill into an untied mess and her outfit to get soaked completely. She blinked a few times in shock, turning around.
Seb was laughing himself off while holding an empty barrel, Zhaoyu and Liang also laughing.
H : Seb!
S : Aw come on you’re all wet, might as well join in.
Hua sighs, but her face portrays a rare playful smile. Her right hand grabs a hose, her left grabs a full bucket.
H : Well, if you want to play, let’s play! Here comes Mama!
S & Z & L : Ahhh!!!!
The couple and their children spend the rest of the afternoon spraying water and throwing it all around the place, soaking them up, Wet they may be, their hearts are all but happy.
Because for Hua, feeling the happy things she first felt 50,000 years ago before Honkai struck, was everything in the world that mattered to her.
And right now, they’re her world.
