Chapter Text

Hizashi Yamada was one child of a mother who worked hard to provide.

His father, not the best, had not been good at the most important times, and yet his mother stood her ground and carried Hisashi till he walked.

He still remembers the crying that came from his younger brother's room, yet he didn't budge, he'd be strong for them all just like his mom.

He loved his mother, yet he knew that sometimes she wasn't there and was never going to be able to. It was a price to pay for food on the table and clothes. And although she wasn't there for awards or performances, she'd always kiss them goodnight, always taught them which is right and wrong, was there when he came home, talking about his future husband.

Hizashi admired his mother for her courage and brilliance, because she was truly amazing. Although divorced three times she still stayed, even when others left.

She was human, of course, but in his eyes, she was the closest thing to an angelic woman.

So yes, he understands the common people thinking she was not a good mom, he understands the hatred of other women who think they're better just because they were married. But he also understands those like him. Those who parents worked hard so he could float, swim.

And he also knew that Midoriya's was a special case.

He had only spoken a few times to Midoriya-San and yet he saw she was very timid, always thinking her son was causing trouble when in fact he was definitely not the most problematic of all Shouta's children.

She talked in deep conversations, almost alittle whiny, he left feeling more exhausted than after patrol.

Midpriya was almost nothing like his mother, he was outgoing and while he is an easy crier (Hisashi was too, he sees alot of himself in Midoriya, which is what worries him) he was calm. He may be young and excited, but he still also has this calm aura. When he spoke to him, he felt pumped up, they lifted their moods and both encouraged the energy.

Midoriya and him always practice talking in English (He was better than most 2nd to 3rd years!) They joked around, trying to make the other laugh. So yeah, Midoriya was nothing like his mother, and he was a great student.

Which worried him when the green haired child began to blink out in lessons, looking tired with bags under this eyes, and got a lower grade than normal.

He had asked for him after class, and yet Midoriya brushed it off, he explained that he just hasn't been sleeping well and his mother was out of town.

Yamada paused at that, who was looking after him? His mother had left him for a week or so sometimes yet he always had people checking in. But when he spoke to Midoriya's mother, she said she had no friends during one of her long spews.

But he nodded along, and if he was a little more lenient with his work, who was to judge?

And slowly but surely, Midoriya got back on track, of course Hizashi looked more carefully, but he was glad that he was more energized.

Which why it surprised him when he got a text

Shouta<3<3<3- how mad would you be if I took a problem child home
Shouta<3<3<3- it would only be
for a week or so but the kid needs adult supervision.

So, trusting his husband, he chuckled at the oddity of his life and responded,

Me- Do they have any clothes for them or any food allergies?

While waiting for a response, he went to the guest room, which was usually used for either Tensei or Nemuri. He gathered the sheets and the comforter and put it in the wash (which usually helped with cleaning of blood off his and Shouta's uniforms have less staring)

He doesn't know much about the child he's about to take in, but that doesn't stop him from making sure he got a medium fluffy blanket and a even fluffier blanket just in case.

He also checked the room for anything that's sharp or can be harmful, he doesn't know whether it's a kid who is at risk or not.

And as he was getting the place ready for the guest, he began to just sing.

Izuku strolled through the news, flicking his thumb and trying to pause it at the pictures, a game he had created on the spot. He was getting good, stopping only a centimeter off the center of his phone. He was alone, his teacher left with a promise to bring back edible food for Izuku and coffee for him.

It was only a few good hours after Aizawa-Sensei had visited.

He and Izuku only talked for a little bit but it made Izuku think, where was he gonna go? Of course he'd go home but Aizawa-Sensei had discouraged it.

He could always just fake that his mother would be home, but Izuku didn't think he'd be able to trick a pro hero. 'Well, you can always try'
His mind supplied helpfully.

He also thought about Eri, where was she gonna go? Would she be safe in the hospital till she gains stability? Overhaul was in custody but a few of his minions are still to be detained. That also brings him to his next thought, what were the League of Villains doing near the Shie Hassaikai?

Was there something they were planning that included those quirk erasing bullets? Or did they need more recruitments?

A cough enterrupted his train of thought.

He looked up to see Aizawa-Sensei holding a tray awkwardly while his foot held the door open.

Moving to get up to help him, the tall man motioned to sit down. While doing so, he began to speak.

"So I t-texted my mom and she said sh-she'll be able to come back sooner," he ignored the fact that she never actually responded to any of his messages since she went on the business trip.

Aizawa raised an eyebrow, like when he catches Kaminari doing something he's not supposed to.

Izuku shifts from where he sat, but after a moment he responded, "Okay, but she'll need to contact us and there's the fact you're problably getting discharged tomorrow." He sat the tray down next to the bed while Izuku perked up at that statement,

"And I'm still not letting you go home alone even for one day alone. You got injured kid, first time I was injured like that I had to rest and let the wounds heal." He then sat back onto the pillow with an oof, slightly wincing at the sharp pain from the wound.

"There's also the fact you stumble when lying, problem child."

Fucking hell.

They ate in silence, some umeboshi onigiri and matcha tea for Izuku and a cheap udon with coffee for Aizawa-Sensei.
They continued the silence after finishing too.

Aizawa was looking on his phone, problably answering emails which left Izuku to play floppy bird on his phone.

After dying for the 100th time, he sighed and turned his phone off to rest his eyes.

'Sensei hasn't said anything about the lying, what if he finds me untrustworthy to be a hero? I did lie to him straight to his face...'

Debating if he should say anything, Aizawa answered his internal dilemma for him.

"Since your injured so that means you can't stay in the dorms for multiple reasons, and you can't stay at you home for safety reasons, I may have a solution for you."

Aizawa put his phone down and turned to look at Izuku,
"Im your home room teacher,  which means I can temporarily be your gaurdian. You can stay with Present Mic and I till you're healed or your mother gets back. Sounds fair?"

The green haired child waited for a moment, soaking up his teachers words, "... So you are married to Yamada-Sensei? Cause if so, Todoroki and Ururaka owe me 500 yen" He said with a grin.

The only thing that could be heard from the room was a single groan and a child cackling.

Multiple nurses giggled to themselves, thinking how funny the father and son were.

Please, if your able, comment! It helps with my energy and motivation :)

Notes:

Fun fact, Umeboshi is translated to 'Salted japanese plums' and are often served with rice!

Umeboshi and matcha tea help speed up recovery! Matcha is packed with antioxidants while Umeboshi has high citric acid, which helps circulation and boosts your energy~
