Fumikage couldn’t tell how long they stayed stuck in this Peter Pan carousel. However, when they finally escaped from it thanks to the staff members, darkness was slowly draping itself over the park.
Tsuyu and him were chatting still when they were greeted at the exit by Ashido and Uraraka’s tearful faces.
“Tsuyuuu !” Ashido sobbed as she hugged fiercely their classmate. “Are you alright ?”
Tsuyu and him exchanged a confused stare. “Kero?”
After inquiring for Fumikage’s own well-being, Uraraka stated “We knew there wasn’t a lot of risk that you two were hurt since the attack was in the second park, but you didn’t answer your phones !”
“We didn’t have any signal in the ride…” Fumikage started, before realizing “Wait, what attack ?”
“A villain attacked Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki !” The young girl explained. ‘The second park is totally closed and it’s been pretty damaged… But they’re fine ! Thankfully, Hawks and Endeavor were near and they stopped the villain before anyone got hurt !”
Something clicked inside Fumikage’s mind.
During his unexpected reunion with his master, Hawks had spoken about motivations for his presence he couldn’t enlight. The hero that was a bit too fast always was always a step ahead. Perhaps it was the reason he had come here today : it wouldn’t surprise Fumikage if the winged hero had had an intel about this.
Ashido continued to comment. “Aizawa Sensei is pissed, but he accepted that we stayed until the park’s closure like it was first planned.”
“The park has been attacked, some of it destroyed, and they didn’t close it as soon as possible ?” Fumikage asked.
The pinkish girl shrugged. “Nah : closing earlier means least sales, least sale means least money, and moola and cent win the race in Hero Disneyland.”
“That’s not very responsible, kero.”
“Let’s stay positive ! We can still enjoy the night show !” Uraraka said, raising her fist in cheering, before looking at her phone. “Yaomomo just texted me to let us know she and her friends from 1-B are seated and waiting for us !”
Fumikage’s eyes widened.
By the Darkness, he had forgotten, about Tsubaraba !
While he’d dare to think Tsuyu and him had gotten a bit closer, Fumikage had in no way confessed his feelings. So if Tsubaraba asked Tsuyu out…
What a fool he was! He had had all the time in the world, back when they were stucked together, and still…
Dark Shadow screeched at him through their bond to do something, say something, to take his courage with both hands.
As they scurried to the front of the castle, where Uraraka claimed the show would be projected, nothing came to his mind. Ashido mouthed to him “So?” to which he shook his head. The young girl seemed disappointed.
When they reached the place, Yaoyorozu and Kendo were waving at them.
As they joined the other students, Tsubaraba rushed to their side, trepidation painted on his face. “Are you alright Asui ? We’ve heard about the attack, and Yaoyorozu hadn't any news from you ! We were worried !”
“No, we’re fine, kero. Thanks for your concern, though, kero.”
The boy’s features relaxed in an instant. “I’m glad…”
Yaoyorozu clasped her hands, pouting. “I’m sorry you remained blocked for so long ! What a shame to waste such time…”
“Don’t be sorry, kero !” Tsuyu cocked her head on the side with a smile. “Tokoyami and I weren’t bored at all. In fact, it was nice to talk like that !”
A message in multi languages echoed loudly to inform them the show was about to start.
Music blasted through high-speakers, and colorful pictures of Disney characters and Disney scenes started to move on the castle.
The Fumikage saw Tsubaraba extending his hand to an unnoticing Tsuyu.
By the Darkness - what was he supposed to do ! Take her hand first ? No, that wasn't very respectful, what if she didn’t liked being physical contact ? Or if she just wasn't interested in him ? And still if she was, he needed to check first if she was okay with that, he couldn’t just guess -
Fireworks erupted.
Bold light and flames were already Dark Shadow’s weakness, but Fumikage’s rampant tension couldn't have helped.
Through the bond, Fumikage tasted the sourness of his friend’s distress, increasing each second. He attempted to calm them down, but Dark Shadow’s fear was too strong. Soon, the fear slipping through their bond gained Fumikage too, and he started panicking himself.
Uraraka noticed his uneasiness."Tokoyama, what’s wrong ?”
Fumikage could sense his breathing getting uneven. He prayed to the Darkness that it wouldn’t end in a rampage like it had in the training camp ! “Dark Shadow – they don’t handle such boisterous and harsh light !”
“Oh no !” Kendo looked around quickly, her eyes scanning for Aizawa. “Is there anything we can do ?”
All of a sudden, a hand gripped his, startling him.
“I have an idea, kero.” Tsuyu said, tugging him behind her. “Follow me !”
Tsubaraba’s mouth fell open. “B-But – Asui !”
“You’re gonna miss the fireworks !”
Tsuyu gave a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry Ochako, kero ! I don’t mind at all. Let’s go Fumikage.”
They extricated themselves from the crowd. Guided by her, they entered one of the store on Main Street. People had gathered there as well, perhaps wanting to buy last minute gifts.
The constant artificial light was less distressing than the fireworks. Slowly, it soothed Dark Shadow, more used to this.
Tsuyu let go of Fumikage’s hand. “ Kero, I thought it might be better somewhere like here.”
The young boy nodded. “It is… Thank you.”
She took a step forward, looking at a vitrine with her arms crossed in her back. “Kero, can I ask you something, Tokoyami ?”
“Of course.”
She glanced at him. “You wanted to talk to me about something today, kero, didn’t you ?”
Oh no.
Fumikage could feel the blood rushing to his cheeks as quick as dark magic drawn by an artifact. i “Well, I-I – I admit that I was, erm…”
Tsuyu continued, looking back at the glass. “I may be wrong, kero, but I think it might correlate with you liking me.”
Fumikage’s eyes widened, and he took an involuntary step back in surprise. “W-Wait ! You… You knew?”
She, on the other hand, didn’t look baffled at all. “Kero, I had a guess.”
Oh.
If Tsuyou knew, possibly from a long time, but didn’t address the subject earlier… perhaps it meant his feelings weren’t reciprocated. To the sting of rejection added an awful burden of guilt. Had she been embarrassed, knowing how he felt and but not feeling the same, and forced to spend the day with him still?
“I… am sorry if I have hassled you. And – ”
“I didn’t do anything about it because I didn’t want to catch you unaware, kero “She cut him, yet she didn’t look mad in the slightest. “Especially since it was obvious you were nervous. But I’m not offended at all. I decided to say something now, kero, because I felt like you would give up.”
The words slowly processed in Fumikage’s mind.
Then, could it be…
“Wait, so does it mean…”
He didn’t dare to end his sentence, too afraid of misunderstanding and putting Tsuyu at unease.
However, she turned to face him with a smile, prompting a maddening sabbath in Fumikage’s heart. “How about we go to the movies, kero ? I know a nice store selling handmade Wiccan stuff. I think you might like it, kero.”
A sensation settled in the boy, something he had never experienced before. Warmth and thrill and something entirely new.
“I…” He carefully chose his words. “I would love that. If you don’t mind… I, er. I write poetry. I’d like to have your opinion on… On one poem in particular.”
Tsuyu smiled brightly. “That sounds lovely, kero !”
Heart beating fast, Fumikage’s fingers grazed Tsuyu’s, and this time, he dared to take her hand.
They entwined their fingers.

Shoto, Kacchan and Izuku’s statement had lasted so long that Izuku feared they wouldn’t see the nighttime show.
When the policeman freed them from the little office Hero Disneyland had lent them, the speakers started to blast music.
Kacchan took both his and Shoto’shands and started to sprint.
“Kacchan ?!”
“It just started ! If you move your asses quick enough, we can still see the stupid show or whatever !”
Shoto watched him in confusion “But you don’t want to see it, do you ?”
Kacchan let out an exasperated groan. “No, but Deku wants to and it’s the first time you come here, and I want you two to have at least that ! So fucking move along !”
Fireworks started to burst in the sky above them.
Izuku felt a giant grin stretch his mouth.
The three of them ran, holding hands tightly.
Izuku was a bit out of breath when they arrived at the castle, but they hadn't missed too much of the show.
They managed to squeeze themselves up to a correct spot, which allowed them to see the illuminations : Shoto and him sitting on the ground while Kacchan was laying against their knees.
And it was magical.
In the grand final, Shoto squeezed both his and Kacchan’s hands.
“Izuku. Katsuki. I love you.”
Tears princkled Izuku’s eyes.
“You’re gonna make Deku cry with your bullshit.” Kacchan grunted, but his voice was rougher than usual.
“Sorry. I won’t say it again then.”
“I’ll fucking kill you if you stop.” Kacchan turned to face them. “And I’ll fucking explode both of you if we don’t kiss now.”
“So romantic, Kacchan.” Izuku chuckled through teary eyes.
The three of them kissed, and this time, the fireworks were in Izuku’s chest.
As the show came to an end, a small voice called.“Misters ?”
Izuku turned his head. It was one of the kids from the rude woman in the Endeavor Tower of Flames line. After a second, Izuku remembered : the family had been in the shop during its attack, and he had evacuated them.
Not seeing his mother, Izuku asked “Are you lost ?”
The little boy shook his head “No, uh - I wanted to thank you for saving us. I didn’t understand everything but I understood you and Mama disagreed on something… And ev with that, you saved us. So I wanted to thank you.”
Oh.
“You don’t have to thank me, you know ! I’m a future Hero, so that’s my job to help people, no matter what.”
The boy grinned. “You’ll be a great hero, Mister !” He looked behind him. “I should go back, or Mama is going to worry. Thank you again, Misters Heroes !”
“Maybe he won’t be as bad as his mother.” Shoto mused flatly.
“Don’t care about that brat or his mom and her broom in the ass.” Kacchan replied. “The only thing that matter is that we’re together.”
Squeezing the hands of his boyfriends, Izuku nodded and smiled.
“Yes, it is.”
“Oi !”
Kacchan threw something at both Shoto and Izuku : the first caught it easily while Izuku narrowly avoided getting it in the head.
“What…”
It was one of the All Might rings they had seen in the gallery.
“Just to make it clear, you two are only allowed to wear it until we become Pro. As soon as we do, you remove that shit and instead, the three of us wear our colors. Or do you got a fucking problem with that ?”
“That’s what you’ve been doing before the parade ?” Shoto asked. “That’s very romantic, coming from you.”
“Shut up ! I’ll explode your face !”
“I don’t really think you will.” Shoto said, voice flat as ever. “You love me too much for that.”
“Give me that fucking ring back !”
“You don’t think that either.”
“Deku ! Stop fucking laughing !”
⌁
When they had gone to the night show, Hitoshi had asked Denki if he was sure he wanted them to go together, emphasizing that he was ready to wait if Denki needed more time. But Denki was more than ready. In fact, Denki should have done that before.
So they spent the whole fireworks and illuminations arm in arm, and during the big final, they kissed.
And, when they kissed, Denki had took a selfie.
“Are you sure ?” Hitoshi asked again.
“100 percent babe.”
He typed a quick message under the picture - I date Hitoshi Shinso, tell it to the news ! - and pressed send.
In one instant, it was on all of Denki’s social media.
“I don’t want to hide anymore.” He said, looking at Hitoshi’s eyes and taking his hands in his. “I’m proud of being with someone as cool as you, Toshi.”
“Even Aizawa the dragon ?” Hitoshi teased.
Denki nodded. “Yeah, even him.”
His boyfriend’s smile disappeared. “Denks, I didn’t mean to be - You don’t have to, if you’re not -”
“No, you were right. You take your own decision, and I should trust you.”
Sero’s voice rang as said boy came to them, running “Kaminari, my dude !” He stopped when he arrived at their level, panting. After taking back his breath, Sero grinned. “I saw your post ! Congrats !” Then, turning to Hitoshi. “Welcome to the Bakusquad, Shinso !”
Hitoshi’s face grew confused. “The Bakusquad…?”
“Yeah ! We’d love to know you more, since you’re dating Kaminari ! Well, Bakugo will probably say he doesn’t want to, but don’t believe it. Oh ! You should totally join our next D&D campaign !” He gently punched Kaminari’s arm. “You better have a good reason for not telling us sooner ! Ah, but for now, we should go to the entrance of the park. We convinced Aizawa Sensei and Vlad Sensei to take a group picture !”
They were among the last to arrive, and Ashido waved at them. “Guys ! Come on, we were waiting for ya !” She threw them something - Mickey ears. Oh ! Now that he was paying more attention, Denki noticed all the students had some on, except for Bakugo, but that didn’t surprise anyone. “Put this on and hurry up !”
Taking Hitoshi’s hand, Denki scurried and pressed himself on the right corner of the group.
“If you don’t hurry this crap up, we’ll leave in the bus without you.” Aizawa announced flatly, holding the camera.
“Of course Sir ! Now, everybody says : Plus Ultra !”
“Plus Ultra !” the students all yelled; except for Denki (who made a V with his fingers and shouted The V of bisexual !) and Bakugo (who screamed death threats at Ashido, who had managed to finally put Mickey’s ears on him the second the picture was taken, fixing this event forever).
An amazing picture, if Denki said so !
“Alright, now that we’re done with your little souvenir and what not, everybody in the bus.” Aizawa ordered, before grumbling “I’ve been deprived of too much sleep for that school trip already.”
The students started to get inside the bus when Denki took Hitoshi’s hand and his own courage.
He inhaled deeply, then marched with determination to the dragon Aizawa, and planted himself in front of him.
Aizawa raised an unamused eyebrow. “What the heck are you waiting for, Kaminari ? Get in the bus.”
“I intend to, Aizawa sensei.” He said, mustering all his firmness in his voice, daring to plant his eyes in Aizawa’s. “I am going to get inside that bus with Hitoshi Shinso and sit next to him and maybe even make out a bit with him because Hitoshi and I are dating !”
There ! He had said it !
Bracing himself for yelling and strangling by binding cloth (or by bare hands if Aizawa reacted especially badly), Denki’s surprise was limitless when Aizawa only replied by a groan and pinching the bridge of his nose. “ Does it look like I care ? Just go in the freaking bus so we can leave already, I want to sleep. Or do you wait for me to drag you there myself ?”
“No, thanks ! We’ll do it ourselves ! C’m on Toshi Baby !”
As they scurried inside the bus, Hitoshi pressed a kiss on Denki’s temple. “I’m proud of you, Denks.”
Score for Denki !
Neither of them noticed the soft glance Aizawa sent to them, nor the text he quickly sent to Present Mic.
Me (23:11:07) : Looks like Hitoshi didn’t follow my advice about loud blonds.
Hizashi (23:11:13) : must be because we showed him what a great combo loud blond and taciturn guy with eyebags do 😘
Hizashi (23:11:17) : btw you better be back soon! the cat misses you and the bed is cold without you!

It’s a small, smaaall woooorld - dammit.
Enji could only hope this horrendous song would go away in the next few days, and not stuck in a corner of his mind like the curse it probably was.
Hawks’ favor required them to wait until night had come. Then, they flew back to the park.
They landed on the roof of the pink hotel, the one giving view to the huge castle of the first park, and the blond man grinned. “Pretty sure that’s not what you expected when you offer to do me a favor, hu ?”
Indeed. Enji grunted “Hm. I expected something with food, since you always annoy me until I buy you lunch.”
“Oh but do feel free to pay me dinner if you want, Enji-san !”
“Hawks.”
Keigo stretched before his wings folded in his back. “ Ah, I’m gonna miss calling you by your first name. I was getting used to that.”
Truth to be told, Enji wouldn’t if Hawks went back to call him by his name instead of his hero patronym. Which… wasn’t in the older man’s habits. Even Burnin’, who worked with him since her internship, had never called him Enji. And he’s certain that, if Hawks had dared to do so when they first met, he would have barked at him to stop with bursting flames.
But this wasn’t their first meeting anymore. And Hawks had… a bizarre place in Enji’s life. An equal, because one of the best Pros, a colleague, because they worked together, and the blond had also wiggled in Enji’s private life since they saw each other for other occasions than work.
Perhaps this strange, unique place allowed the blond to call him by his name.
And it meant Enji could keep calling him Keigo, too. The idea didn’t displease him.
However, Enji didn’t get the time to say anything about the matter.
Music started to rise. It came from below - the park.
“Oh, look !” Keigo pointed at the castle. “It’s starting !”
Despite the distance, they still managed to see the illumination projected on the facade of the castle. Enji guessed it was intentional : after all, that hotel was ideally placed for that. It would be logical that the company had built it while thinking of visitors who could see the show from the balcony of their room.
Still, it left him perplexed. He had imagined a lot of things Keigo would ask for : lunch, Enji’s help on a mission, joined patrol, that stuff the other man always bullied him for. Hell, he even thought Hawks would ask to have the window of Enji’s office open so he could come in easier, as he had whined about numerous times.
But a spectacle at the amusement park ?
Fireworks started to erupt in colorful jets of light.
“You… wanted to see one of the performances here ?”
“Well, kinda.” Hawks said, not taking his eyes off the lighted sky. “I thought it would be nice to see the night show. I would have been a bit disappointed to miss it, ‘s the first time I saw fireworks.”
What ?
“You’ve never seen one before ? Not even for festivals ?”
The blond shrugged. “Nah. Like I told you before, my old man didn’t really want me to get outside when I was a kid, and after, I didn’t have the time with my training or the missions.”
Enji thought back about the day. Hawks’s behavior, his excitement, how happy he had been with the smallest thing. Did it mean…
“Was it your first time going to an amusement park as well.”
Hawks nodded distractly, still absorbed in the fireworks.“Hm-hm.”
Usually, Enji would not care in the slightest about such a trivial thing. To him, amusement parks were a waste of time. Especially for grown-ups, and even more for Pro Heroes. They had more serious business to do.
But something annoyed him at the thought that Hawks, who obviously wanted to go to an amusement park, had such a poor first experience.
Especially since Enji had a role in that. His temper was bad. He knew it and worked on it, but still. He had tell Hawks off rather often, and his social awkwardness surely had not helped.
Enji had been very clear on why they would go at Hero Disneyland. And usually, knowing his intentions were explicit from the beginning sufficed to avoid any feeling of guilt. That was why Enji was always blunt and hated dancing around the bush. And yet…
Yet, it annoyed him.
But he wasn't good at - feelings. At least the ones that weren't anger or determination. So he merely grumbled.“Sorry that your time here wasn’t very amusing.”
Amber eyes darted at him. “No need to go all antsy, Endeavor. I’m the one who offered to come with you for the Todoroki Junior mission, I knew what to expect. And really, I could hardly have a better time ! It was fun, and I got to spend time with my favorite hero. That’s you, by the way.”
Enji didn’t reply. He didn’t know what to say, and embarrassment burned under his cheeks without him knowing why. He never knew what to do or say when embarrassed; so he simply grunted in acknowledgement, and watched the fireworks.
Behind the music of the park, silence stretched, only cut by the loud noises of explosions. At one point, Enji glanced at Hawks and…
And Keigo was beautiful.
Absorbed as he was in the fireworks, under the colorful lights that tinted his face and the column of his throat in splashes of vibrant lighting, with his eyes shining even more than usual, Keigo was the most beautiful sight Enji had ever seen.
Enji’s throat grew dry.
Somehow, it infuriated him even more. He processed a thought, baffled: he ached for Keigo’s happiness. He ached to see the blond smile sincerely and to know he was content.
He didn’t know how to say that.
He loathed feelings - or maybe, he loathed himself for not knowing how to deal with them. He hated not knowing how to do something.
Grumpiness was always his to-go when he felt at loss.
“Still, if I do something, I do it to perfection.” He grouched. “On your next day off, you’ll go back to an amusement park, no mission whatsoever. I’ll make sure you spend your day in the best way possible.”
Keigo’s head whipped to him, and Enji expected another teasing remark - expected because he knew Keigo and, he realized, because he had learned to like Keigo’s stupid jokes. And his voice, and his presence, and his unfailing support, and…
And…
Oh.
Looking at the other man, Enji understood something else.
He understood that he…
That he was in love with Keigo.
He couldn’t say if it was because of the realization shown on him, or because Keigo hadn't expected what he had said before, but a myriad of emotions ran over the blond’s face. They succeeded so quickly that Enji failed to grasp them all : surprise, fondness ? He couldn’t tell.
They looked into each other’s eyes. Keigo opened his mouth, then closed it. He licked his lips and eventually, he spoke. “I think my wish is going to come true.”
Enji frowned.“Your wish?”
“You know, at the fountain.”
“Oh. Was it coming back to the park ?”
Keigo rolled his eyes, but he smiled. “Endeavor, you’re really dense sometimes.”
Just as Enji was about to scowl him, Keigo pressed a kiss on his lips.
Enji froze, surprised.
Then he cupped Keigo’s cheek with one hand, the other drawing the blond closer to him, and kissed back.
Keigo…
Keigo was attracted to him too.
When they parted, Keigo chuckled, wrapped his arms around Enji’s shoulder and rubbed his cheek against Enji’s (he had to use his wings to reach there).
The blond sighed contently, then drew back and grinned. “Just to be clear, that was my wish. Finally getting the nerve to kiss you.”
“I had understood.”
“Can never be sure enough, between how dense you are and old age being bad for memory…”
“ Keigo.”
“Oh, back to the first names basis ? Yay !”
“Stop making jokes about my age.” Enji grunted. Then, carefully, ready to take them back if Keigo showed the smallest sign of uneasiness, he put his hands on the blond’s small waist. It only made Keigo purr, so Enji let them there and added. “I had no idea you wanted… something like that.”
“So you admit being dense. I’ve been flirting with you since the billboard ranking, and I didn’t make it subtle.”
“You flirt with everything. I thought it was a joke.”
Keigo cradled Enji’s face in his head, his thumb stroking softly at his nape. It shot shivers all along Enji’s spine. “Well I’m very serious about this.” The younger man hummed.
One of Enji’s hands left his waist to seek one of Keigo’s. He took it to his lips, kissing the skin inside Keigo’s wrist.“Good. Like I said, I don’t do things half-heartedly.”
“Yeah, you only need forever to understand things, including your own emotions because really, Enji-san, it was pretty obvious you were into me too. In fact, there’s even a betting pool in – hmpf !”
Enji kissed him again to stop his talking (and not at all because he really wanted to kiss him again, not at all because Keigo wa beautiful when he was smiling and happy, not at all because now that Enji had understood his attraction to the other he wanted to kiss him again and again to make up for wasted time.)
When they parted, Keigo still had this beautiful smile, sincere and teasing, and that glint in his eyes that made something boil in Enji’s blood.
“I wouldn’t say no to that dinner you mentioned earlier.” The younger man grinned. “Or lunch. Or whatever you want.”
“Of course you do, greedy boy.”
“You have no idea.”
Keigo pressed another, hungrier kiss on his lips. Enji took his nape and gave as good as he got, fully intending to turn the other as dizzy as he made himself feel. Given Keigo’s gasp and blush when they stopped, he had succeeded.
One red wing draped over the both of them.
They watched the rest of the fireworks close.
Next to him, Keigo grinned. “Heh. I guess sometimes, dreams do come true.”
And for the first time in forever, Enji believed that too.
