Yin Yu exhaled for no reason other than to try to warm his frozen chest, and a spew of mist filled the space behind his mask.
The room spun.
He was no longer shivering, no longer cold at all. No, he was burning. His body prickled with pain, and as he looked down at his fingertips, he faltered, his body curling in on himself.
Across the table, something cracked against marble before hitting the floor, and Pei Ming shouted, “General Qi Ying!”
The last thing Yin Yu saw before he lost consciousness was Quan Yizhen being turned onto his back, his face flopping to the side, eyes rolled up in the back of his head, revealing the large oozing gash on his forehead.
