Chapter Text

“Your mom is so sweet! I wish I had her as my mom.” Gogy said after dream’s mom had left the room. “George, your mom is nice too. You don’t need my mom, she was just trying not to show her surprise.” Dream said.

“Surprise? About what? You bringing a boy home instead of a girl..?”

Dream was silent.

“Clay, have you never brought a boy home before?” Gogy asked.

Dream shook his head slowly.

“Oh, babe. That’s okay. If you weren’t ready-”

“No! I wanted to do this. I-I’ve wanted to introduce you to my mom, she’s heard about you. I think she was just surprised because I didn’t describe you? I don’t know, I just know she was hiding her surprise.”

Even though Dream said that it was fine, George felt a little guilty. He didn’t mean to make Dream confess that, or make his mom surprised that he is here.

“Hey, Clay? I h-have to get going. My m-mom said that I need to come home. I’ll s-see you tomorrow!” George said as he gathered his stuff.

“Oh, ok babe. See you tomorrow!” Dream said as Gogy rushed out the door. “See you later” George responded quickly. He was rushing out the door so quickly that he almost fell down the front porch steps.

Dream started to feel guilty. He knew that George ran off because of his mom’s reaction to him.

His guilt slowly turned into frustration. It wasn’t his fault Gogy left, it has his mothers! If she could have hidden her surprise, George would have never felt so guilty.

Clay started to go downstairs and talk to his mom.

“Mom! Why did you do that face when you first met George? Now he’s gone because you made him feel weird!”

“What? Did he leave already? I was going to plan a dinner for all of us” His mom said.

“Mom! Do you not understand what you did? You made George feel so weird, and YOU made him leave! Not me, not his own parents, YOU mom!” Clay said out of anger.

“Oh, no honey. I’m so sorry! I had no idea he could read my face so well.”

“Mom, I could read your face too. You didn’t do a great job of hiding it.” Dream said, rolling his eyes.

“I'm sorry, Clay.” His mom started.

“Don’t bother apologizing anymore.” Dream said walking back to his room angrily.

“Clay. Please.” His mom said.

“NO! I’m going to my room and there’s nothing YOU can do about it anymore! LEAVE ME ALONE!” Dream shouted. Thick tears formed in his eyes. He ran up the stairs and slammed his door so hard that some small things in his toom shook a little bit.
