Chapter Text
A new day began in Eden as Anya proceeded to go down a set of stairs on her school bus as she sets sights on an exciting day at school, a few days after she made up with the scion of the Desmond family.
Better yet, her best friend Becky is coming back from that specific illness she had. Thanks to that mysterious cold, Damian managed to patch things up with the pink-haired esper after that tearful fiasco that happened a week before. So thank you, Becky!
To Anya's joy, she sees a certain black car arrive at Eden, assuming it was Becky. Filled with a smile on her face, she excitingly runs over to said car.
Becky stepped out of the car, with her head held high as she was gladfully reunited with her best friend.
"Becky!" Anya ran over with a bright smile on her face, happy to see her trustworthy friend again.
"Oh, Anya! I've missed you dearly!" Becky welcomed her with open arms as Anya immediately caved in and gave her a big hug, signifying the joy of being reunited.
"Becky, Anya was so lonely without you! I hated it! It wasn't exciting at all!" Anya proclaimed with joy.
"Yeah, it was the same for me as well. That darn cold really took a toll on me." Becky began. "From this day onward, I vow to not catch a cold once more to be with my best friend!"
Anya was overjoyed with her reply, before going in-depth into Becky's thoughts.
'Tch, screw that damn cold. It really did make me unable to protect Anya from that stupid browned-haired prick. I'm actually hoping he did nothing to her while I was out. Because if he did, he's dead meat. You hear me, Desmond!? YOU. ARE. DEAD. MEAT.'
Becky, who rampaged in her thoughts, managed to shock Anya, realizing that the brunette was unaware about the special moment she had with Damian.
'I guess I should tell her the very special news later...' Anya thought.
They later walked towards their respective classes, while talking about specific things, like:
•How Becky managed to overcome boredom because Berlint In Love aired a new episode while she was ill.
•How shocking it was to find out that Vincent had an ex-girlfriend who came back from America to patch things up with him.
•The fact that the ex was such a prick to Sophia in the show irritated the hell out of the viewers, which even made Becky pass out due to exhaustion.
You know, typical Becky stuff.
"Oh yeah." Anya began. "Becky..."
"Hm? Yes, Anya?"
"I've been meaning to say something."
"What is it, actually?"
Anya was going to speak up about what happened with Damian, but it felt like it was gonna start the end of world peace, so she changed the topic eventually.
"When Becky called Anya's house the other day, Becky wanted to say to Papa about something. What was it about, Becky?"
Becky froze from what she said, as she began to blush.
"W-What!? Becky again. "Ah, I forgot! I was going to tell Mr. Loid how I truly felt about him! Oh my days..."
'How Becky truly felt!? Becky still wants to be my mom!?'
"What did you tell him, Anya!? Did my message go through!? Tell me!"
"Well, Becky passed out before the message was sent to Anya. So I told Papa that you went to sleep."
To her horror, she was in disbelief over how close she was to unreastically getting a chance with Anya's dad.
She almost fell to the floor in shock.
'Gosh, darn it!!!!!!' She screamed in her thoughts.
"It's alright, Becky..." Anya, bless her heart, comforted her best friend out of pity.
Well, she still caused a scene after all...
Minutes later, they etched closer to the school dorm, where the forbidden name lived. You know who I'm talking about.
"So, did that egotistical trash bully you again?"
"Eguhtistycal trash?" A confused Anya replied.
"You know who I'm talking about." Becky began. "It happened a week ago, yet thinking about it makes my blood boil. If he messes with you again, let me know in an instant because I will call the armed forces for hurting my best friend!"
What she said shocked Anya even more.
"B-But Becky! Sy-on Boy didn't..."
Suddenly, the conversation was put to an abrupt pause as Damian and his lackeys stepped out of the dormitory to head to class as well.
The five were now at ends with each other now. Face to face...
'This is going to end bad...' Ewen and Emile thought, praying that there won't be another scene.
"You..." Becky immediately spoke up in an angry tone, disgusted by the very appearance of the boy she hates.
"What did you do to Anya while I was gone, Desmond!?" Becky immediately began, infuriated just by looking at him. "Tell me the truth, and I will let you have it!"
"What is up with you!?" Damian began in an irritated tone. "It's the butt-crack of morning and you're already starting a fuss! I didn't do anything to her."
"Oh shut up and quit lying! I know you did something to Anya."
"I-I did not!" Damian yelled out, as he began to slowly turn red. "Honest!"
Damian was lying. He did do something. He drew a poster and gave it to Anya. He gave peanuts to Anya. He was the receiving end of Anya's hug. He made up with Anya.
But the one he was arguing with didn't exactly listen to his stuttering properly.
Becky, still infuriated over last week's situation angrily sighed, while claiming the mood was ruined by Damian's very presence.
Anya was quit reluctant to speak up, as she didn't want to make Becky mad at her.
Ewen and Emile wanted nothing from this. They did not want stop Becky from attacking Damian once more as it would create a fuss, so they just awkwardly stood there while the two bickered.
"Even if you did do something to her, I still won't let you talk to her!" Becky began, before dragging Anya's arm. "Come on, Anya. Let's go."
Anya, determined to make Becky and Damian become friends, and save the world, stood up for herself and became clear about what happened last week.
"B-Becky!" Anya began to resist Becky from dragging her arm.
"What is it, Anya? We're going to be late." Becky replied in a sarcastic tone, while showing a disgusted look to Damian.
Anya was scared to let it out, but it was the only way to continue Papa's mission. So she gave in.
"A-Anya...A-Anya..."
The four listened carefully from what Anya was about to say. Yes, Ewen and Emile also listened, but it was because they were prepared to hold Becky back from attacking their boss, even if they didn't want to.
Then, Anya told the truth.
"Anya and Sy-on Boy are friends now, Becky!"
Silence circled around the group as Damian began to show a blush.
What. In. The. Name. Of. Loid.
Becky couldn't believe it. She was suspicious. She presumed that Damian blackmailed her for this.
She definitely wasn't buying it.
"Alright, how much did you pay her?"
"I-I didn't pay her anything!"
"Come on, you definitely paid an amount you egotistical bastard." Becky angrily began. "How much?"
Ewen and Emile were still pretty reluctant. They just didn't want Becky to scream at them at this point.
"N-Nothing! You think someone like me would hold her at gunpoint just to make you believe we're alright with each other? We are fine! I already said I was sorry! Tell her, Stubby Legs!"
Becky then looked to Anya.
"Anya, is this true? Because if it isn't, we're immediately heading to class."
'Come on, Anya! Tell her!' Damian screamed in his thoughts, while his heart pounded.
"Y-Yes Becky! Me and Sy-on Boy are friends now! Sy-on Boy gave me a bag of peanuts and a drawing of us! Look! I was even going to show it to you when you came back!"
Anya took out the drawing from her bag and showed it to Becky. It was definitely carefully preserved.
Becky looked at the drawing and did begin to have a change of heart.
But it wasn't over yet.
"Alright then." Becky replied, before giving the drawing back to Anya. "You said you two are friends now, right Desmond?"
"Y-Yeah! Whatever she said."
"Well then, Desmond. I would like to make a request to prove that you two are fine with each other. Especially on your side."
"W-What is it now!? Make it quick, the bell is about to ring."
Then, Becky made a bet.
"Call Anya by her name."
"W-What!? Why!?"
"Oh, don't you want to? Well fine, I don't believe you."
'Becky!' Anya screamed in her thoughts. 'Come on, Sy-on Boy! You can do this! You can save the mission for me and Papa!'
"Tch, fine!"
Damian and Anya then exchanged eye contact with each other, as Damian's heart began to pump once more.
'Come on, Damian! You've said her name before, why is it so hard for you to say it!?' He thought, as he began to internally scream.
Ewen and Emile just watched, as they also began to anticipate as Damian and Anya looked at each other.
Then, he began to say it.
"A-An...A-An...A-An...ya..."
He said it.
'Darn it, is it that hard to call her by her name!? A Desmond shouldn't be nervous like this!'
Anya showed a smile over Damian calling her by her name, which made Damian's heart explode.
Suddenly, the bell rang. Effectively ending this petty conversation.
"Hmph. Fine. Apology accepted. Come on, Anya. It's time for class." Becky declared as she dragged Anya's arm once more.
But, Anya then looked back to give Damian a smile. Not the usual smile, but a cute-looking one, before whispering 'Thank you.' to him.
"Tch..." Damian quietly muttered out.
"Well that was...quite tense." Ewen concluded, with Emile nodding to his statement.
Silence dreaded upon for a few seconds, before Emile informed the guys that it was time for class.
From then on, Becky kept a look out for Anya whenever she and Damian crossed paths for the rest of the week. Of course she was still bitter, but she did have a second thought after that conversation.
In conclusion, Master Becky forgave Damian, in a half-hearted way. For the sake of Anya.
