There's This Boy...

Chapter 22: Chapter Twenty - Knots and Messages

Summary:

Oikawa and Kageyama stared at each other for a second before Oikawa chuckled at the look of indifference on Kageyama’s face, “You are just too cute sometimes Tobio.”

Kageyama’s face flushed before he hid his rosy cheeks behind his hands causing Oikawa to laugh louder.

Chapter Text

“Thank you for letting me stay for dinner Miwa-Chan,” Oikawa told Kageyama’s sister before turning to Kageyama.

“Wanna go on a date tomorrow?”

Kageyama stared at his soulmate for a second before responding with a question of his own, “Will Hajime be there?”

“We already planned to go out tomorrow with Makki and Matsu but they bailed last minute so hopefully,” Oikawa explained.

“I should be able to spare some time,” Kageyama said, “But the dancing announcements get posted any day now.”

“For the camp in Russia,” Oikawa asked.

“Yeah.”

Kageyama looked to see Oikawa’s eyes darken for a split second before they shined like a million shining stars. His lips turned into a smirk but were underlapped with concern. It made Kageyama fear his next question.

“Tobio-Chan~”

“Yes Tooru,” Kageyama said.

“Have you been taking care of yourself as Iwa-Chan told you to?”

‘Ahh so that’s what Oikawa wanted,’ Kageyama thought.

“I have,” Kageyama whispered to Oikawa.

“Good good. Now, what have you been working on for volleyball.”

“I can’t say. But we do have a training camp coming up!”

Oikawa’s eyebrow lifted and his smirk dropped. His body leaned against the doorframe he was standing by, “I understand Tobio-Chan. Where’s the training camp at?”

“…Tokyo.”

“Tokyo?”

“Tokyo.”

“Whose all going to be at the training camp,” Oikawa asked.

“I know Nekoma and Fukorodani will be there but we haven’t met the other teams,” Kageyama explained, “All I know is I have to pass exams- Oh god I’m doomed.”

“Doomed?”

“I’m failing all of my classes right now,” Kageyama kindly explained, “I’ve never been the greatest at school and kinda pushed my studies aside to sleep.”

“Well, Tobio-Chan you need to sleep more at home and less in school. Also, I’ll ‘come over on hmm,” Oikawa started to mutter to himself yet Kageyama was faintly able to hear what was said, “Monday we don’t have practice but Iwaizumi has a longer shift yet he doesn’t work on Thursdays which is when I have physical therapy.”

“I’ll come over on Monday and Iwa-Chan will on Thursdays,” Oikawa told Kageyama who simply responded with a question of his own.

“Tooru, why do you have to attend physical therapy?”

“Oh, my knee to prevent it from getting worse I have to have a doctor look at it, massage the tight tendons, and do light knee stretches.”

“Do you want me to rub your knee,” Kageyama asked, “I’m familiar with massaging the area plus Yuuri can help me?”

“If your offering.” Oikawa gave the younger boy a grin before Kageyama led him away from the front door and into his bedroom where Yuri was on his phone sitting on the makeshift bed on the floor.

“I thought you left,” Yuri stated when he saw Oikawa.

“I was planning on it but someone is going to massage my knee,” Oikawa responded.

“Why?”

“Because Tooru is a dumbass who can’t stop overworking himself and his knee,” Kageyama explained as he pushed Oikawa onto the bed then straddled his hips and faced Oikawa’s knees.

“Yuri, can you pass me the oil on my nightstand,” Kageyama asked.

“Yeah sure, but only if you teach me how to massage, Otabek gets tight and I want to be able to help him,” Yuri explained as he grabbed the bottle and walked to the bed to see what Kageyama was doing.

“Okay so first take a small amount of the oil into your hands and heat, this makes working with the skin easier and causes less pain to Tooru.”

Kageyama took the bottle and poured a small amount, about the size of a coin, before giving it to Yuri who followed his instructions. Kageyama clasped his hands together, which Yuri mimicked, before rubbing them together to great heat and friction.

“Okay once it’s warmed take your hands and find where the muscle is then work your way around till you find where the toe curling point is,” Kageyama explained as his hands wrapped around Oikawa’s lower thigh and moved towards his knee.

“Toe curling,” Oikawa asked.

“The toe curling point is basically where Tooru’s going to curl his toes. Now the weird thing about the body is that every muscle is connected so he may feel pain in his knee but it can be from his hamstrings, lower back, calves or quads.”

“I never knew that,” Yuri commented.

“Ow ow ow ow,” Oikawa hollered as Kageyama’s hands thumbed a knot.

“Do you know how to remove the knot's Yuri?”

“I know how to do that,” Yuri told Kageyama as he also worked out a knot on the chocolate brown haired setter.

“Ow,” Oikawa whined.

“This is what happens when you don’t take care of yourself,” Kageyama sternly got onto.

“But if it means that ow Tobio-Chan gives me massages then I’m never gonna take care of myself,” Oikawa explained.

To counter that, Kageyama pressed harder on the knot he was working on to bring Oikawa a slight bit more pain.

“You sure about that,” Kageyama said.

“No! I’ll stretch and listen to the doctor,” Oikawa complied.

“That’s what I thought.”

“What time should I get ready?”

“Hmm how about we meet up at that cafe by your coaches store. The Terra Cotta Cafe around 3,” Oikawa said, “Afterwards we can do the date!”

“Okay. What should I wear,” Kageyama asked.

“Whatever you want to. I wanna see Tobio-Chan’s style,” Oikawa grinned.

“Okay. Bye now Tobio-Chan,” Oikawa gave Kageyama a hug before walking out of the house leaving Kageyama to close the door behind him.

Kageyama looked to his family and sighed, “I think I may have a crush.”

“A crush. Just a crush because to me it looks like you are in love,” Miwa teased.

“I think he’s good for you, but there seems to be a piece missing,” Viktor explained, “He seemed as if he was looking for something whenever he searched the room for you.”

“That’s probably because Hajime wasn’t here,” Kageyama told, “Hajime’s our third.”

“A poly bond,” Yuri asked.

“Mmh. He knows how to keep Tooru in line.”

“Why wasn’t he here tonight,” Yuuri questioned while handing Kageyama a cup of hot chocolate.

“He had work,” Kageyama sipped the warm chocolatitly goodness.

“I didn’t know he worked,” Miwa commented.

“He got a part time job at the store down the road. I found out whenever I couldn’t sleep and walked over to get milk and get you creamer,” Kageyama explained before yawning.

“What time was that,” Alisa asked, concern evident in her voice.

“Like the middle of the night. I think around three,” Kageyama whispered, his head down afraid of getting in trouble.

“Well you got me creamer so I’m not too mad,” Miwa sighed after a long period of silence.

“You’re not,” Kageyama's voice was small and quiet.

“I’m not. Now go get some rest after you take a bath and ice your feet,” Miwa told the boy as he ran off.
