Chapter Text
“Sunny I love-“
“Hey sunny we should probably go get ready for the preforma-“ said Mari, but she stopped when she saw the situation both Kel and Sunny were in.
Kel almost dropped Sunny out of shock, but instead pulled him closer on instinct. They were so close that Sunny could smell the expensive cologne Kel chose to wear that night, and feel every beat of his racing heart. When Kel loosened his grip on sunny, he still stood there in shock. His own hand tracing his lips where Kels hand had been, missing the familiar warmth it brought. “Oooh I see what’s going on here,” said Mari with a smirk.
“I-It’s not what it looks like!” Replied Kel.
“Yep sureee. Just make sure to meet me at back stage Sunny, we need to warm up.” She said, slowly moving away.
“Uh, sorry about that Sunny.. did I make you uncomfortable? I- I can leave if you want.. I just-“ said Kel sheepishly.
“No, please stay. I liked that, I like us, together, I mean. Also you don’t have a ride home so I’m not sure what your plan was.” Said Sunny.
“Well I should probably go meet Mari, I’ll see you after the performance,” said Sunny as he looked at Kel one last time before walking way.
Kel turned around to go walk back to the table, being met with a knowing look from Hero. “So you and Sunny huh? Guess the bouquet worked out.” Said Hero.
“We aren’t even dating!” Replied Kel, turning a light shade of pink.
“Well maybe you could ask him tonight? Like after the party ends.” Suggested Hero.
“Hm, ya know what, that doesn’t sound like too bad of an idea” Replied Kel, beginning to plan it out inside his mind.
His thoughts were interrupted by an announcement of the final preformance of the night. Everyone in the room, including those at Kel’s table, excitedly gathered around the stage. The man who took Sunny’s violin earlier began his speech. “Thank you all for joining us tonight to honor these talented youth. I invite you to join me in enjoying their final performance of the night, so please, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.” After that, he left the stage and Sunny and Mari entered.
Mari stretched her fingers and Sunny raised his bow. They glanced at each other once, before counting down and beginning to play. Mari’s fingers glided along the keys to a melodic rhythm, as Sunny moved the bow along the violin’s strings, filling the room with sound. It bounced off the walls and filled everyone’s ears with a sweet song. The intricate movements of both siblings complimented each other as they played perfectly in harmony.
Everyone in the room watched in awe as their raw talent showed. Kel smiled just like he had smiled a thousand times before at the rest of Sunny and Mari’s concerts. He truly could never get over how beautiful they sounded together. He swore that just for a second Sunny made eye contact with him, before turning back diligently to his music.
Time seemed to fly by as they played, but the song ended just as quickly as it began. Leaving the room in silence for only a moment before erupting with applause. Mari stood up before both her and Sunny took a bow. A smile like Kel had never seen before shown across Sunny’s face as he took in the praise from those around him. After that they left the stage.
The host came back and said a few words as people began to file out of the party. Sunny and
Mari’s parents both met them when they left the stage, congratulating them on their performance. Once Sunny’s parents left, he began to approach Kel. “Great performance as always!” Yelled Kel and he walked to Sunny.
“Thanks Kel,” he replied as they left to go to the car.
Before they left however, Kel pulled Sunny out to the back balcony. The railing was marbled and decorated by rose vines, along with a couple of chairs to sit in. “Sunny,” said Kel. “About earlier, I just wanted to finish what I was telling you…”.
Sunny looked up at Kel. The moon shown down on the balcony, casting a faint glow on the both of them. He truly looked beautiful right now. “Kel…” said Sunny, just then a light breeze came and swept Sunny’s hair in front of his eyes.
Kel pushed his hair behind his ears and took this opportunity to cup Sunny’s face in one hand, and just as he had done earlier, began to trace Sunny’s features with his thumb. His eyes glowed in the night, pools of black that Kel could watch could watch for hours. He was truly captivating.
It seemed like an eternity before one of them spoke. “Sunny, I love how you always hang out with me, agreeing to even my stupidest of plans. I love how when we spend time together, you bring out the best parts of me. I love how gorgeous you are, I can never get tired of staring at you. I love how talented you are, and I don’t know what will happen in the future, what will change or stay, but I know I want you to be there with me, by my side. I guess what I’m trying to say is I really love you sunny, like a lot, and I never want to leave your side. So Um, if you want, maybe you could be my boyfriend?” Kel turned away after this, silently waiting for Sunny’s response.
“Kel. I love how you exude confidence when you enter a room, and when I’m with you I feel like I can take a part of that. I love how you’re always there to support me, whether it be all my shows or when I’m crying at 2 in the morning. You’ve stayed by side through my best and my worst, never caring how insufferable I can be. You always know how to cheer me up, even if it’s just being in the same room. I loved when we danced together tonight, it felt like I had finally gotten something I’ve wanted for so long. I wasn’t sure what that was at first, in fact I haven’t known for a long time… but now I do.. it’s you. I love you to Kel.” He replied.
They stared into each others eyes for just a second longer before leaning in to kiss each other. It was slow and passionate, their lips locked together like they were meant for each other. Sunny felt at peace in kels arms, melting into his gentle embrace. They both lost track of how long they stood there, just sharing the moment.
When they pulled back no words were exchanged. Instead they interlocked their hands and walked back to the car, Sunny leaning on Kel, knowing that he had finally found happiness.
Fin.
