Chapter Text

Tommy was still shaking from Schlatt. It's been such a long time since he has seen the Ram, but his image still lingered in Tommy's head.

The Ram was beating at Hannah, her wings spasming as she kept taking blows. Dream was standing by her side, staring at The Ram. The Ram was looking at Purpled. Purpled was crying, bawling more like it, as his sister was whimpering in pain.

"This…" The Ram said, wiping the blood from his face, "is what happens when you decide to go against a higher officer."

Purpled rushed to Hannah's side, the fae almost unconscious.

Tommy stared into The Ram's eyes, so shocked he couldn't cry, couldn't run, couldn't scream. He just stared.

And The Ram stared back. With his tired, superior eyes.

"So how'd you know him?" Techno asked, as they walked back to the ship.

"I… um…" Tommy began. It wasn't like Techno agreed with Dream on every situation. Therefore, he was bad. However, he bought Tommy a gun. His first gun.

Tommy didn't trust Techno. Right?

Tommy decided to compromise.

"He was Dream's supplier. He…" Tommy gulped, "Really hated Hannah. My, um, friend, from the army. The last time I saw him, I was 10. Don't think he recognizes me. I do, unfortunately."

He left out major details, but Techno now has the jist.

Techno nodded. Tommy had a feeling that he didn't fully believe that Tommy was telling him everything, but he figured that Techno wasn't one to prod.

They went on their "merry" way back to the ship. The first thing Tommy saw was Niki and Wilbur arguing with Fundy and Tubbo on loading the crates. People were laughing around them, helping the crew load up.

Tommy paused. For a feared and hated crew, why were people helping them? Out of fear? That's the only reason Tommy could think of.

"C'mon," Techno pushes Tommy forward, "Let's continue."

Tommy and Techno greeted their crewmates. Both Niki and Tubbo ran up to the duo, asking excitedly what happened. Niki scolded Tommy, but with no malice whatsoever. She reminded him of a mother… or a sister. Hannah was the closest thing, and she was never this nice to him. Same as Purpled. And…

And Dream.

——

"Okay, spill, Wilbur," Tommy finally asked, "What's the deal with your hatred for Dream?"

"The green bitch?" Wilbur said, "Why do you want to know?"

"Because…" Tommy hesitated. While it was true Tommy believed in Dream fully, Niki had described him as a monster. It's just… maybe having other views would be okay.

"If I tell you, will you give me a bit of your life?"

"Deal."

Wilbur sighed, "Well, when we were younger, I had a family.

"Tech and I were 14. We had a younger sister named Nikita. And a brother named Theseus. We had a mother and father. We were happy.

"Then he came. Well, a younger him. He was around my age, maybe a bit older, with his commanding chief. He was giant, with big ram horns and scorching eyes."

Tommy shuddered. He had a pretty good idea who that was.

"He said some stuff to my father and they started hurting. They… they took Theseus away. They killed our mother and sister. My father escaped with us, but was shot. We managed to escape, but without our father. Since then we've been trying to find our father."

"Why?" Tommy asked.

"Besides the fact that we want a father, he is said to slain the evil from the land. Whatever that means."

Tommy sighed. He felt bad for Wilbur and Techno. At least he had Dream.

"So Niki is your sister?"

Wilbur stared at him, coldness glistening in his eyes, "No. That was Nikita. This is Niki."

Tommy flinched, ready to be reprimanded. Wilbur's chill went away and concern came back, "Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah. What's your question?"

"Um…" Wilbur looked at him, "What's your deal with the whole child soldier thing?"

"Well, my father and mother were abusive to my brothers and sister. They killed them and Dream saved me from them. If it wasn't for him, I would probably be dead."

"Wow. I'm sorry."

"It's good. Sometimes, I remember life there."

Wilbur looked at him with big eyes, "Is it… painful?"

Tommy shook his head, "No. It's… pleasant. Like… we are actually one big family. Instead of… bad memories."

Wilbur looked at him with narrow, searching eyes. Tommy hesitated.

"Whatcha thinking about?"

"Why you would have good memories if your family was bad."

Tommy's wings fluffed up, anger in his voice, "I know what you're thinking, but Dream's not lying. He would never."

"Yep." Wilbur said, not believing him, "He would never."

Tommy, wanting to put the conversation somewhere else, asked, "Why did you get so defensive when I brought up the connection between Niki and your sister."

Wilbur sighed, "I normally wouldn't trust anyone with this, but I trust you like a brother. Techno, he… he thinks Niki IS our sister. But… she's dead. However, our sister had black wings and looked like our father. Plus, Niki fought like him. He had his moves, moves that Techno can replicate thanks to his blood."

"What does blood have to do with anything?"

"He was the Angel of Death. A literal God. That means that we have some of his powers. I sadly got the short end of the stick, I only have his charisma, but Techno…" Wilbur laughed, love sprinkled in there, "He could fight. The Blood God. That's what the voices would call him."

"Voices?"

"Yeah," Wilbur nodded, "He has little voices in his head that motivate him to kill. Another thing that he inherited from our father.

"Anyway, Niki seemed like our old sister, so much that it convinced Techno. However, again, she's dead."

Tommy put his hand on Wilbur's shoulder, "I'm sorry, Wilby. You deserve better."

Wilbur smiled, looking up, "Wilby?"

Tommy realized what he said, his head as red as a tomato now, "W-what? No…"

"You totally did!"

"Shut up, asshole!"

Wilbur smirked, "Okay. Child."

"OI!"
