Chapter 2: I'll fight you

Summary:

Thank you for reading! :)

Chapter Text

5 years.

Kaveh laughed bitterly.

In one of their usual fights, Kaveh made the mistake of bringing up their relationship. He was tired of the recent bickering. So he accused Alhaitham of being ashamed of them being together.

But was only met with silence.
“Alhaitham! Please I'm serious!” But the Scribe is not being responsive.

“Lately I feel like you're avoiding me” Looking at him...

This bastard turned his noise-canceling earpiece on!

When reaching for Alhaitham, he pulls away, “are you done complaining?”

This is important to him, so he reaches to turn off the earpiece. But his hand was swatted away. “Stop it”

This causes Kaveh to cry from frustration. Every time they argue, he feels lesser than when Alhaitham turns the earpiece on. Like his concerns are not worth his time.

He had enough!

When he came to, he had a warm cup being presented to him. “Oh, Tighnari, fancy seeing you near the Akademiya so late into the night?”

“Kaveh, this is in my room.” Tilting his head in confusion, suddenly more aware of his surroundings. “I caught a whiff of your cologne deep in the forest. And here we are”

"Why so deep in thought?” With no response, Tighnari sighed.

They just sat there. Until Kaveh began recalling what had happened.

With a sigh of frustration. "Can I stay for the night?" Tighnari complies and leads him to a guest room.

///

Tighnari agreed to let him stay, but bored with nothing to do, he began helping Tighnari.

It was all good. It was supposed to be all good, but whenever the sun set, he wondered if this was the right decision. When he has too much time by himself, his thoughts keep finding himself yearning to fight that stupid, prideful, know-it-all, son of a-

It seems Tighnari had enough. “Kaveh, go back. I tried to help, but seeing you mope for this past month is stupid.”

Offended, “moping? Who was moping?” With a sigh, “you know, You left without confirming anything with Alhaitham.”

He knows this, but he is afraid. That there will be nothing waiting for him.

“Come back with your stuff, I'm tired of sharing clothes”

///

Going back to Alhaitham’s home, he was surprised that the door wasn’t locked. Walking in, he sees Alhaitham, still, in the same room Kaveh left him in.

“Alha..” and the Scribe quickly shoots his head in his direction. “your back” and the blonde only nodded. This was a mistake, “I- I shouldn’t have come back”

Turning to leave, his arm was grabbed by Alhaitham. Surprised, The blonde finally took a closer look at his face.

Was the great, prideful Alhaitham… crying?

Why?
