Chapter Text

Wednesday did not know where she was going, and she did not care. She had even left Thing on the ground where he stood when she dashed away. Call her a coward, she dared anyone to and she would knife them in the gut. But deep down she could deny that what she was doing was cowardly, she just didn’t - she couldn’t ………..she didn’t know what to do. She had never held affections for another and when the two most tolerable people she knew outside of her family had been melded into one person.

Sinking down to her knees in one of the empty hallways of Nevermore, her back to the wall, Wednesday looked up at the full moon. She had forgotten it was that time of month again, and she sighed feeling more guilty than ever knowing that Enid must have felt abandoned or betrayed. She was never used to feeling bad for hurting others feelings, she never made connections with people outside her family and after Nero was killed she never could make genuine friendships with people her age, whether it was due to them blatantly ignoring her personal space or for fear of being hurt again. She assumed if Dr Kinbott was ever able to get her hands on such information she would say it was both.

Many believe that they knew everything about her or her family simply by how they acted. However, an Addams was not an Addams because of their oddity nor their viciousness or how they embraced the darker side of the world. No; what truly made someone an Addams was their love. All encompassing and maddening at the same time, an Addams knew love as soon as it was in front of them. It was simply a matter of whether they acknowledged that feeling or not. And Wednesday had tried her very best to ignore the feeling, to pretend that it didn't exist, willfully ignorant to what her heart was saying.

She could say she never wanted this, never wanted to be like her mother. Never wanted to be in love, or be a housewife or have a family. Well, it seemed like she already failed the first promise to herself. She tried her best to fight it, she knew of the curse, how could she not? It was apparent in every facet of her life, whether it was from her parents disgusting public displays of affection or from her various cousins falling from the sharp knife of a short life, their hearts crushed by the heaviness of their love.

Wednesday was selfish. She would take and take and take some more even if there was nothing left to give. Yet, when it came to her love for her blonde roommate all she wanted was to make her happy. She wanted to give Enid her everything, and it was scary, her heart only thumped for her as it breathed life to the rest of Wednesday’s body. It was as if the werewolf held a trigger to her head and the minute she knew Enid didn’t reciprocate her feelings, her body would simply cease functioning. Her parents would have the joy of burying their child in the family grave before their own ultimate demise.

Despite her love for death, her pride in being another grieving story of a young person who had died before their time, she did not want any of those things. She wanted to LIVE. She wanted to live her life and grow old with Enid. She wanted to see her older self reflected in those blue eyes, shining with adoration just as hers were. Everything she had once detested, she craved for like nothing else.

The sounds of slowing footsteps echoed on the tiled floor, Wednesday looked up slowly to see what her heart had yearned for standing in front of her breathing heavily from the effort of running around the school looking for the darkly coloured girl.

“Enid,” she whispered reverently.

“Wednesday,” Enid replied as she gazed at the other girl, her face flashing from one emotion to the next.

Sighing, Wednesday slowly got up, “Enid I’m sorry, I should have -”

“Stop.”

The young Addams paused, as she looked directly at her roommate to see her eyes tearing up. Wednesday’s heart clenched in pain.

“Were you ever going to tell me?”

“Tell you what ! What could I say to you Enid. That the person you confided online with is not who you thought they were, that the roommate you detest is somebody you’ve spoken with for months before my arrival to Nevermore.”

Enid watched silently as Wednesday continued, it hurt when she saw the grief in those dark eyes.

“Or do you want me to tell you that I love you and that I've loved you before I even knew what you looked like !”

“Yes,” Enid choked out in a sob.

Wednesday looked at her, blue met black in a beautiful midnight waltz.

“But I never detested you. I never hated you, any part of you. Sure, we were different but we worked well. We shouldn’t but we do.”

Enid reached out, stilling for just a moment, looking for any sign that Wednesday did not want this. When none came she held the girls sleeve and stepped closer, “Don’t you get it Wednesday?”

Theother girl sighed, “please Enid, stop speaking in riddles to me. What am I supposed to understand?”

“That I love you too,” the blonde breathed out.

Wednesday’s eyes widened, her poker face slacked to something akin to shock. She couldn’t believe what she just heard, maybe she had truly gone mad and thrown herself down some stairs and is simply living in a fantasy of her own concoction. But no matter how she tried to explain the situation away, the hand clutching tightly onto her sleeve, the warm breath on her skin told her otherwise. These were not one of her delusions.

“How?”

“What do you mean how?”

“Don’t play coy with me Sinclair,” Wednesday replied harshly, ripping her arm out of the blonde’s hold.

“How could you love someone like me? I don’t deserve it, I don’t deserve you.”

A flash of fury coarse through Enid at those words and she grabbed Wednesday’s arm, her other hand coming round Wednesday's waist as she pulled the dark haired girl close, “you don’t get to decide that !”

“W-wha -”

“Don’t you dare Wednesday Addams. Don’t you ever say that about yourself. You - you and your annoying typewriter that wakes me up every morning telling me how much time I have left to get ready for school. How you purposely drag me to help you with one of your murder boards or bee club every full moon because you know I feel lonely that I’m unable to shift. Or how you threatened Ajax for not showing up and didn’t really hurt him because I told you not to.”

“Wha - how?”

“Yeah, I know about that too. Because no matter what everyone talks and I always find out. But, the one thing I wanted to know - the one thing I never knew was how you felt about me.”

“Enid ….”

“Please, don’t tell me you don’t deserve me because you are the only one who’s ever made me feel like I didn’t need to be anything else but Enid.”

Wednesday closed her eyes tightly, her hands clenched the colourful jumper that Enid wore, ignoring how the colour made her hand itch and finally she sighed.

“You’ve got a bad taste in romantic partners Sinclair.”

Enid let the words sink in as she slowly began to smile, “agree to disagree.”

Wednesday shook her head, and Enid allowed her arms to fall, missing the warmth that her roommate's body brought. However, before her thoughts could continue further a hand was held out before her.

“Come on, let’s go back to our room.”

Enid squealed happily, grabbing onto the hand as they walked down the dark hallway back to their shared dorm.

“.......so does this mean we’re together now.”

“Would I kiss someone I wasn’t in a romantic relationship with Enid?”

Enid’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she turned her head to look at the other girl, “but we haven’t -”

Just as she spoke those words, Wednesday tugged the blond towards her and placed a chaste kiss on her lips. Enid squeaked in happiness, closing her eyes to savour the feeling of the Addams lips on hers.

~~ A few months later ~~

“Ooooh, you should definitely pair Bella up with Rosalie.”

“Are you forgetting that Rosalie is already married to Emmett?”

“I mean yeah but this is a fanfiction and you’re like the god of that world, right.”

“Flattery will get you everywhere cara mia,” Wednesday replied looking at her girlfriend who was laid out on her bed, looking at her upside down.

“So you will write them into your fanfic?”

“No.”

“Awww come on Willa, they’re like my secret OTP. Every dark haired woman needs a blonde, it’s like the rule of fanfiction.”

“First, I do not see the reason you need to make your preferences a secret. Second, I already have plans for her to be paired with Tanya Denali.”

Enid smiled mischievously, “so you don’t deny the fanfiction rule.”

Rolling her eyes, Wednesday leaned forward to capture Enid’s lips in a spiderman kiss, “well, I do have a blond that I belong with.”

Enid blushed and sputtered, “y-you can’t just act sweet like that out of nowhere.”

“Oh ~” Wednesday hummed with a smirk.

Groaning, Enid turned on the bed looking at Wednesday the right way up this time. Pouting, she stretched her arms out and made grabby hands at her girlfriend. Wednesday sighed as she looked at her adorable girlfriend, “Enid it’s my writing time, I promised the readers that I would have the new chapter up by this weekend.”

“Well I'm your number 1 reader, so I call dibs,” she replied stubbornly.

Wednesday knew she could never deny the girl of anything, and so without much resistance crawled onto her bed and hugged the blonde, the duo enjoying another day together at Nevermore without a care in the world.

And who knew, that it all began from writing fanfiction about a stupid glittery vampire.
