-SMASH- -CRASH- -POP- -CRACKLE- lying on a couch in front of a TV, dressed in one of her boyfriend’s shirts and a pair of shorts is Ruby Rose. Ruby is used to noises like this coming from her kitchen especially when her boyfriend is cooking. However, a much less usual noise soon comes from the kitchen, “AAAH!” hearing a scream Ruby jumps off the couch and uses her semblance to dash into the kitchen leaving rose petals in her wake.
“IZUKU! ARE YOU OK?!?” Ruby slides along the tiles of the kitchen only managing to stop by grabbing the door frame. Frantically her eyes dart around the kitchen before settling on Izuku in the middle. Seeing that he is covered in black dust with two bowls next to him.
As their eyes meet Izuku spits out a large cloud of the same black dust covering him. “Eh, hi Bee. Sorry about interrupting your TV time.” Ruby just stares at Izuku before snickering.
“Chuff Zuzu you doof what did you do?” Ruby cautiously looks around the kitchen, “If I come in nothing’s going to explode is it?” Izuku rubs the back of his neck before looking around the kitchen.
“No, I think it was just the bowl of icing. I accidentally mixed up the icing sugar with dust so it went kaboom.” this causes Ruby to move past a snicker and to full-blown laughing at Izuku.
“Hahaha! S-so y-you’re hah saying you mixed up ha dust with sugar?!? Hahaha! Jeez, you’re such a goof Zuzu. I can’t believe you’d mix them up. Hahahahe.” it was at this point Ruby lost control of herself and bends over herself, unable to stop laughing.
“You know I’m glad you find this so hilarious Bee, really I’m glad my suffering fuels your enjoyment. Really I’m so glad.” Izuku’s face is blank staring at Ruby, who just laughs even more at his reaction.
“Oh my god ha your face haha jeez Zuzu. come on every chuff every chuff everybody mix-splat-” Ruby is interrupted by something sticky hitting her face. “plegh” Ruby’s tongue darts to her lips, “hmm, chocolate… wait did you just throw cookie dough at me Zuzu?” Ruby raises one finger accusingly while her other hand sits at her waist, her tongue continuing to dart at the cookie dough on her face.
Izuku quickly hides his hand which is clearly covered in dough behind his back before frantically shaking his head, “No of course not why would I throw cookie dough at my girlfriend I love when she’s laughing at me.”
Ruby nods before speaking, “well, first of all, I love you too. And secondly I don’t believe yo-splat-” yet again mid sentence cookie dough splatters Ruby’s face. “Plegh” Ruby wipes the dough off while continuing to speak, “ok Zuzu that time I saw you do it so I know it's you. Don’t try pretending otherwise… So get ready foooooor… SUPER PETAL BURST ROSE SNEAK ATTACK!”
Activating her Semblance Ruby turns into a cloud of rose petals blinding Izuku and flooding their kitchen with the petals. Reappearing next to Izuku, Ruby grabs the bowl of cookie dough and drops it on Izuku’s head, “HAH!” Izuku starts coughing and sputtering, covered in now not only the black dust from the exploding bowl earlier but now all of the cookie dough he had made as well. Which also results in Ruby breaking down and laughing again.
“Puh.” Izuku starts wiping the dough off his face but soon realises something. “Hey Bee did you add something to the dough before you threw it on me?” Izuku still wiping at the gunk on him waits for Ruby to regain control of herself.
“Hahahe he uh no why are you asking Zuzu?” Ruby stares at Izuku still trying to rub the gunk off.
“Because this isn’t coming off…” Izuku’s rubbing is becoming more frantic as he still can’t seem to make a dent in the gunk.
“D-D-Don’t worry Zuzu I’m sure this will be fine. I’ll be right back.” Ruby’s face drops as she dashes off to grab a towel.
Ruby rushes back with a towel in her hand. Even more, petals are left in her wake as she jumps onto Izuku’s back, knees wrapping around his torso and towel held over her head.
“Ok, now I’m gonna need you to stand still Zuzu. stand very still.” Izuku freezes his ears pricking.
“Bee what are you doing, wait when and why did you jump on me… how did I miss that?” Ruby adjusts her seating on his back before lowering the towel and squinting at Izuku’s head.
“Don’t worry Zuzu I have… Everything is under control. There is absolutely nothing for you to worry about. So just stay there and let me fix everything.” before Izuku has the opportunity to interrupt, Ruby ATTACKS!
Immediately rose petals fly everywhere as Ruby wraps Izuku’s head with the towel muffling his voice and blinding him.
“MPHH! MPHH!” ignoring Izuku’s cries, Ruby continues to assault his head with the towel. But it does nothing Izuku is still stuck in the gunk, and to Ruby’s horror, it starts bubbling.
“AH!” Ruby falls off Izuku landing on the ground as the gunk continues bubbling on Izuku. Getting back to her feet Ruby stares at the bubbling goop, “Oh um ok Izuku not to freak you out or anything but um you are kind of um bubbling.” Izuku spins on the spot unable to see the bubbling on his back.
“WHAT! Where? Where? Where? BEE! WHAT DO YOU MEAN I’M BUBBLING!?!?” Ruby grabs Izuku by the shoulders. stopping his spinning and staring at what she thinks are his eyes, but she isn't sure because of the gunk.
“Ok now calm down Izuku just look at me well not literally because you're blinded by the gunk. But anyway I am gonna call uncle Qrow and get his help because something has gone wrong here.” Izuku freezes again and the colour drains from him.
“W-W-W-What I-I’m sure we’ll be ok Bee surely we don’t need to disturb your uncle just get somematcheswecantrytoseeifthegunkisflammableorwatergetabucketofwatertrywashingitofforsomethingelsenoneedtobotheryouruncle.” Izuku dissolves into mutters at a speed even Ruby who normally can understand him is struggling.
“Ok, Zuzu you just started muttering so I’m just going to assume you agreed with me and I’m gonna call Qrow.” Izuku starts blindly searching through the kitchen trying to find matches using just his sense of touch before Ruby can call her uncle.
“Come on somewhere matches lighting myself on fire is better than Qrow seeing me like this. Come on come on aha!” as Izuku’s hand reaches what he thinks is a matchbook he hears Ruby on the phone.
“Hey, Uncle Qrow…Yeah So Zu-Izuku got covered in dust mixed with cookie dough and it’s started bubbling and we can’t get it off” Taking advantage of Ruby being absorbed in the call Izuku starts trying to light a match from the book, “uh hu…uh hu…hmm…ok” finally Izuku gets a match lit and holds it to the gunk.
“so whatever we don’t let it near any extreme heat and just used cold soapy water ok. Thanks, Uncle Qrow see you later.” Ruby turns to Izuku as the gunk starts reacting to the flame, “Ok Izuku so all we have to do is… OH MY GOD IZUKU STOP!” Izuku shocked drops the match as the gunk grows tentacles that writhe through the air. Ruby avoiding the tentacles grabs a bowl to fill with water.
A tentacle stabs at her head but she blocks it with the bowl putting a rather large dent in the base. Lowering the bowl Ruby pouts at the tentacle, her eyes darting between it and the bowl, “Dang it that’s my favourite bowl. Nrgh! Focus Ruby! Just need the water and soap.”
Dashing to the sink Ruby fills the Bowl with soap and water. Turning back around to face Izuku the gunk has started spreading across his body. Frantic at the sight of her boyfriend getting covered in this venomous goop, Ruby runs over to him, bowl in hand. Narrowly Ruby dodges a series of stabs from tentacles before one goes low and trips her.
Falling in slow motion Ruby uses all her upper body strength to wildly fling the bowl hoping it will hit Izuku. Landing flat on the floor Ruby lets out a groan taking a brief respite on the floor, “nrgh.” soon however a distinctly gunk-free hand reaches down next to her face.
“Want a hand there Bee?” raising her head Ruby sees Izuku, now that he’s free of the gunk a soft smile covers his face. Taking his hand Ruby is pulled back to her feet and slumps over in his arms. “Whoah hey, Bee are you ok?” Izuku lifts his arms bringing Ruby closer to his face just as snores escape her.
“Ronc shshshsh. Ronc shshshsh.” Izuku’s smile deepens as he looks at Ruby. Clearly worn out by all the excitement and having fallen asleep in his arms
“Ok then sleeping beauty, let’s get you to bed.” Izuku’s smile drops as he looks around the destroyed kitchen. “And I’ll clean all this up.” adjusting his grip Izuku looks down at Ruby in his arms and letting out another small smile he walks to their bedroom.
