Summary
There was something so very mesmerizing about the stars.
Even when one could not see the stars in the day when the sky was bright, they were still there. In the night they shined brighter than the lamps that littered the streets.
They were so far away, but they still provided light for lost ones like him that wandered and mourned at night. And that gave Izuku solace.

He gets his hopes up when he meets adults that aren't as shitty as they were in his middle and elementary school. Unfortunately, the one time he finally decides that maybe it wouldn't be so bad to trust grown-ups, he gets fucked over.
Or in which I give Izuku trust issues, then give him hope, and then give him trust issues 10x.

Refusing to meet his eyes, Izuku shrugged. He was staring at the tips of his shoes -- his (quirkless) red (quirkless) wide (quirkless) boots -- and was caught completely off-guard when Aizawa-sensei slid into his field of vision, kneeling in front of him.
“Talk to me, Problem Child,” he asked, the nickname making Izuku flinch. “I can’t help you if I don’t know what the issue is.”
