The paramedics were looking over Cinder’s stab wound as Vender was standing there waiting on the results “Well she should be fine. The blade wasn’t able to stab any major artery’s however given how it was a holy blade and also silver I recommend at least half a packet of animal blood for the next ten days. I recommend pigs blood if you can get any.” Cinder nodded from the paramedics recommendation “Thank you Miss Grey. I’ll make sure she gets her required amount.” Vender said as Cinder got out of the ambulance as she smirked at Vender “You sound like my mother.” The two began to walk to Ruby,Yang,and Raven “If your joking then I assume the wound wasn’t fatal.” Raven said as Ruby smiled knowing Cinder’s alright “Tha-tha-tha-that’s good. I’m glad to see your alright.”
Ruby then blushed when she realized she had said that aloud “Uhhhhhh I meant like-like-like in a good way. Considering your.....your......your uh one of my favorite teachers. Not-not-not like in-in-in.” Cinder smiled and put her hand up to stop the stuttering girl “We know what you meant Ruby.” Yang then saw a large black car approaching them “Uh guys?” The four then noticed the vehicle and Cinder realized who it was “Oh boy....” one of the cars then opened and the first people to come out was Mercury and Emerald “It’s clear.” The grey haired male said as Salem got out

Yang and Ruby looked surprised from the woman that came out of the car “Is that...” “Yes. Yang,Ruby meet the oldest and the leader of the vampire race. Salem.” Raven said giving the leader an introduction. Yang and Ruby had noticed that unlike Cinder she hadn’t covered her head in fact she wasn’t even wearing a full body suit but instead a standard political dress. Vender then bowed to the vampire woman when she came over “Lady Salem it’s a honor to see you.” He said showing the greatest respect to the woman which made Ruby and Yang get caught off guard. Vender had never shown this level respect to someone before so to say it was a bit of a shock would be an understanding
“The honor is all mine. Please Vender I’d say we know each other well enough you can just call me by your name.” Salem said modestly as Vender stopped bowing “I.....I suppose. Though the ways we know each other isn’t exactly consider normal......” Vender said with a bit of sorrow in his voice as Raven’s eyes also moved down in sorrow given what had to happen “You seen to believe your guilty.” “I killed a vampire in cold blood...” “Yet you brought a criminal to justice.” “That doesn’t change what I did. Next time we meet Salem let’s have it be over drinks...” Vender then walked away in sorrow as Yang and Ruby were shocked
“Wow.....that was........wow.” Yang said clearly speechless about what just happened. Salem then realized that her and Vender weren’t alone “Oh where are my manners. My name is Salem you must be Yang and Ruby. Hm you are much older than when I had last seen you.” Ruby and Yang were very confused but Raven cleared it up “Your mother had to take you with her sometimes when she had work with Salem.” Ruby and Yang gave an ‘Oh’ face when it was cleared “Indeed she did how is Summer doing?” “She’s fine no offense but she’s come to enjoy the quiet that came with unemployment. Well as much as quiet as she could get with these two.” Raven said joking at the end as Salem nodded “I see. Well I just came to see how Cinder was doing after she was injured. I will leave you four but Cinder could you please come with me instead of going home alone?” Cinder nodded and Salem smiled “Excellent. I shall leave you to it then.” Salem then walked back to her car with Emerald and Mercury behind her
“She-she-she’s scary.” Ruby said a bit nervous that Salem was there “She is only like that in public. Private is a very different story.” Cinder said trying to calm the young girl “I suppose I should get going. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to get there sooner.” Ruby hugged Cinder which caught the three off guard. Ruby knew that kind of tone. It was the tone of guilt something Vender and Yang usually had so she thought that hugging them made them feel better so she thought to do the same “It’s ok. You-you-you came when you could.” She said trying to cheer up the vampire teacher. She then let go and Cinder soon recomposed herself “I suppose you are right. Have a good day rest of your day Ruby.” Cinder then left as Yang was the first to say anything “You really do have a crush on her.” Ruby blushed a bit embarrassed and rubbed her neck “Ye-ye-yeah.” Raven then rubbed her back “Were not mad just......just don’t forget to talk to us.”

Vender had walked away to Glynda who was talking with a police officer who had to be called. The police officer nodded and then walked away as Vender stood beside Glynda “Well there won’t be a need for a trial given how the camera’s caught everything. Will be letting Ruby stay home for a week given what happened.” “What about Cardin and his friends.” “Jail. They’ll be charged as adults. Their best option would be to plead guilty.” Vender sighed and rubbed his face “It almost happened again....I let it almost happen again.....” He said and just leaned on his truck. Again. He almost let it happen again this time it would have been to both Ruby and Yang
How could he call himself their uncle after what they had to go through. Vender was about to throw in the towel until he felt a kiss on his cheek “You did what you could and the best part is neither of them had to go through it. Don’t think to negative about this. You’ve done a lot more than you think.....including have stolen my heart.” Vender blushed a bit and rubbed the back of his neck “Ah I didn’t think it was that easy.” Glynda snickered from the comment and kissed him on the cheek again “Well you did a lot to make it easy. See you tomorrow Vender.” She then walked to her car and he had a smile on his face “Well it looks like I still got it.” He then noticed Ilia approach Yang and he raised his eyebrow “Well ain’t this interesting.”

Yang,Ruby,and Raven were walking to the latter’s car but they soon stopped when they heard something behind them “Um excuse me but could I talk to Yang.” The three then turned to see Ilia clearly nervous. Raven and Ruby left the two alone so they can talk together as Yang and Ilia were there together “I just wanted to say that you were really brave for helping your sister... I know I shouldn’t be saying that given what had happened to her and you were already planning on doing it anyway I just thought you were really cool standing up to Cardin like that and-and-and.” Ilia’s skin soon changed color to a shade of pink and Yang just snickered
She then kissed the chamelon faunus’ forehead and smiled “Your alright. I get what you mean. I’m just glad you’re still willing to talk with Ruby. Ever since what happened at Signal I got scared she wouldn’t be able to get friends again. Amber really messed her up she lost all her friends and she was to scared to make some. So to know she found some has my mind at ease. Thank you Ilia for getting my sister out of her shell.” Yang then gave one more kiss to Ilia and went to the car happy to know that some of her problems were taken off her shoulder
This had been an interesting month for Ruby and her friends and family. It was also just the start of the school year! There was so much more that could happen! New friends,new enemies all sorts of things that could happen! Beacon high was going to become very interesting with Ruby and her friends being rolled in. What will come well....you’ll just have to wait and see
