Chapter Text
All these mixed emotions
We keep locked away
Like stolen pearls
“That’s when I clocked the fucker!” Laughed a mafioso leaning out a window, cigarette in hand. He spat onto the ground below, before continuing, “Seriously, can’t stand these damn tourists.” The thought of them made him grit his teeth, “You know what I mean right? So damn annoying.”
“I know what you mean, piss me off.” The other wiped his eye, thinking nothing of it, then again, and again. “Ah, what’s up with my eyes- so watery.” The tears kept flooding to the point the mafioso balled up his hands, rubbing his eyes incessantly. He sputtered in confusion and increasing agitation.
“Hell?” Questioned the first, “The fuck’s with you? Got some damn allergies or something.” For some reason, the building sobs from his partner was serious grating on his nerves. With a growl he grabbed the first by his sleeves, “Seriously knock that shit off! It’s getting on my last nerves! I swear! Stop it or I’ll beat the shit out of you!”
“I-I don’t know! I, I, I just can’t stop!” Bawled the second thug, waterfalls of tears streaming down the sides of his face, snot beginning to drip from his nose. He wailed, “Everything is just too much! I just wanna cry-”
A fist slammed into his mouth. Mouth left bloodied the second fell backwards. Looming over him was the first mafioso, veins pumping in anger snarled, “I TOLD YOU TO SHUT THE HELL UP!”
Without further warning, he pounced on his partner and began to wail on him viciously, breaking a nose, blackening an eye, and even beginning to beat the back of his head into the ground. The second was defenseless to defend himself and only sobbed harder, now emphasized with fear. As the first goon put both hands up in the air, over his head, clasped together, intending to pound the downed man’s head in- he froze. Eyes wide. Suddenly, it felt like a needle had dug into his back, at the base of his neck. Quickly, a chilling, sensation washed over him and he tilted overside ways.
Panic, hit him with astounding clarity, Wha-what the HELL!? I can’t feel my body, every- everything’s gone numb!
“Oh, looks like I got a good hit in.” Chimed a voice from outside the window. It sounded slightly distant, and off to the side, like the next apartment over. Unable to move, the numbed goon stared up, until a blond with a devilish smirk appeared in the window frame. He slipped in through the opened window and waved mockingly down at him. Much as it enraged him, there was nothing he could do as he turned and called, “All’s clear love.”
A second man slipped in through the window, this one with slicked-back, black hair. He eyed the room, from one man to the other, finding the situation satisfactory he stalked right over to the present computer desk. He wasted no time sitting on the chair and getting to work, like the electronic belonged to him.
What’s going on, who are these guys? Questioned the numbed man. Everything that’d happened was so strange. One minute he was ranting, the next his partner was bawling his eyes out like an infant! That’d sent him into a near murderous rage. Yeah, it was annoying to see a full-grown man cry like a little bitch, but not that bad. Next thing he knew, he was numb from head to toe!
As he attempted to figure this out, Sorbet huffed, “Seems the chat-logs, files, and emails I want access are all password protected- as can be expected.” Eyes turned to the bruised, battered, and bloodied man on the floor. He turned in the chair and nudge him with his foot, getting a weak groan in response, “This computer belongs to him, so does this apartment. The code(s) have to be somewhere.”
With a gleeful giggle, the blond scampered over to him, leaning over him with his hands on his knees, “Oh, let’s wake him up and ask him some questions then!”
“Control yourself Gelato.” Sorbet said firmly. He began to look over the desk, “We should look around first before we dirty ourselves.”
Gelato blew air from his mouth, “Ah, do you have to spoil my fun?”
His whine went ignored as Sorbet rummaged through the drawers. Conceding, Gelato looked around the room, using his stand’s tendrils to pluck off books and flip through them before tossing them away. When the room was picked clean he sighed in faux defeat, “Oh well, looks like he didn’t have it written down. Too bad for him, good for me~!”
These guys! They must be Passione freaks! The numbed man yelled to himself internally. He’d heard tells of these mafioso having supernatural powers- but to see it, was a whole other thing. It was just out of the corner of his eyes, but he was certain he’d seen books on the shelf get picked up and float in the air! The pages were even being turned, like being puppeteered by something invisible! These guys were real-life monsters! How, how was any of this real!? Now, they were about to interrogate his partner. His fingers curled into the palm of his hands out of anger. If only he could, wait, he just moved his hands. The numbness was wearing off. If he played this right…
“Fine.” Sorbet sighed from the desk, “But try not to get too carried away.”
With a happy squeal of delight, Gelato gave Sorbet a peck on the cheek, “Promise~!”
This bastard’s insane…Dreaded the numbed man. Suddenly, he wasn’t so sure he wanted to tangle with the blond lunatic. He’d watch what he’d do and go from there. Yeah, that’s what he’d do. Besides, he was still too numb to do much of anything. Legs, felt heavy and stuffed with cotton. Couldn’t stand if they were both still asleep like rocks.
“Hey,” Drawled Gelato as he leaned over the unconscious La Meravigli thug. Face swollen at the cheek and eye, there wasn’t a response. Gelato’s expression turned neutral. Without a word, he straightened out and then stomped his foot down into the man’s gut, “Wake up! We haven’t got all night you pathetic waste of space!”
Sudden, intense pain to the gut was a thoroughly effective wake up call. A yell of pain shot through the air that turn sputtered out, rattled with gagging pain as Gelato dug his heel further in. The rival criminal writhed underfoot like a cockroach. His hands grabbed at Gelato’s offending foot, only for an invisible force to pull them back. He gasped in further alarm when he felt something sharp, like a needle, pierce through his skin. A coolness sudden filled his limbs, stuffing it with numbness shortly thereafter.
“Do you honestly think I’d let filth like you touch me?” Gelato spat mockingly, grin splitting his face, “No, no, no.” His eyes narrowed, “Now, be a good dear and tell me the passwords for the computer that we need.” He pulled out a serrated knife from one the pockets on his shirt. “Or don’t, makes little difference to me.”
He waved the knife tauntingly over the downtrodden man, like a cat with cornered prey. Gelato held pause as he heard grunted, forced, swearing behind him. Glancing over his shoulder he saw the first La Meravigli member was attempting to force himself to his knees.
“You…bastard- sick freak!”
“How cute,” Cooed Gelato, “but, my stands venom would be wearing off by now. A simple fix. Truly, Madly, Deeply,” Behind him, a semi-humanoid, stand with vine-like limbs remanifested. With four of its six emerald hued vines wrapped around the numbed man and hurled him into wall. Need thorns, reinjecting it’s venom back into his body. “Now, stay out of the way. You’ll get your turn, just sit tight.”
That, minute, issue dealt with, Gelato looked back to his interrogation subject. He nudged him in the side, “Where were we-” Then, he spotted something. As he nudged him with his foot, in his back pocket something was poking out. “Oh?”
Stand still manifested, he used it to roll him over and plucked his wallet from his pocket. With no reason not to, he opened it. There inside, was an oddly conspicuous piece of paper. Attention grabbed, Gelato pulled it and opened it. He arched his brow, it was gibberish, but it had to have a meaning. He handed it over to his partner, “Sorbet, take a look at this love.”
Holding it in hand, Sorbet rubbed his fingers, “Hm, looks like the passwords. Wouldn’t hurt to try, though they could be encrypted.”
Sorbet turned back to the computer. As he did he noticed something about the paper, in the light of the screen, he could see some hastily erased markings. “Ah, looks like he attempted to erase what the codes were for. Likely after writing them and realizing the error. I’ll have the information we’ll need in just a moment.” With some typing he announced, “There, I’m in. Would you take care of them, I want to leave as soon as I find precisely what I need.”
“As you wish dear.” Purred Gelato as he turned back to the two completely vulnerable La Meravigli members, serrated knife in hand. “Where to begin?”
“Gelato, have you found information you’ve sought?” Risotto wasted no time in getting right to the expected update soon after picking up the call. As was expected.
“Yes, our target was the weakest link as I’d gathered from what online sources I could locate of him. Really couldn’t keep his mouth shut.” Sorbet answered casually, him still seated on the chair of the computer. His other hand still on the mouse as he collect the information he wanted, readying to burn a CD with the information he wanted. He made sure this target had a computer equipped for that. He’d wipe the drive of any information they had on their organization before they left. “I’m preparing a disk of target and necessary information of what members I could gather from this source.”
“Good, anything on the higher ups or on the possible traitor?”
“Unfortunately, nothing direct.” Sorbet answered tersely, “However, there is mentions of a source in the chat logs. I believe that is likely our defector. It may not be a complete bust, but, I’ve gathered information on some likely sites where they’re holding promising “initiates,” that they’ve located.”
Static popped over the phone, like an electric hiss that snapped at his ear drum. Sorbet shifted the phone away from his ear a touch. Just a bit, barely a centimeter or two, unnoticeable to anyone else. He didn’t say anything about the anomaly that dissipated shortly after it started. It last long enough for someone to take a breath. Most would think it was a brief connection disruption and maybe it was. The timing of it though, and the fact his leader hadn’t said anything, caused Sorbet to think otherwise though. Risotto was upset. Due to his stand, he gave off a natural magnetic charge. When he was calm, it rarely caused any side effect that was bothersome. When he was using it, actively, then metal around him could react, pulled in towards him. When he was angry, things like this could happen.
“Good work.” Came Risotto’s answer, “I’m sure you plan on wiping the system once you’re done?”
“Correct.”
“Be sure to not linger too long, once you’ve completed your work there.” There was a hint of knowing in Risotto’s words. Sorbet was aware they had a reputation amongst the others of their squadron, particularly Gelato. “We don’t need our targets becoming aware, just yet.”
“Understood.” Sorbet answered calmly. Shortly after the call ended the CD was completed and he got to work wiping the computer, thoroughly. When he was done, there was nothing of note left, nothing to salvage either. He pushed the chair back and got to his feet, “There our work is done here.”
Before he say anything further, Gelato turned him so that they were face to face. His complexion was flush with want, “How about we have a bit of fun, before we go?”
“You heard leader.” Sorbet answered, not putting too much resistance up. Merely a reminder more than anything.
Nearly touching, faces merely centimeters apart, “We won’t be too long.” He pulled him in for a deep kiss, turned make out. The air was thick with the smell of blood, from the mangled and sliced up bodies, crumpled in the corner. Moonlight leaving a slivery sheen on the pool and puddles of blood on the floor.
Sorbet Buio
Stand: Tears of Pearls
Ability: From the stand’s eyes it cries out pearl-like tears that drift off towards a target (however the pearl-tears are at the mercy to the wind), if it comes into contact with a person it locks said person into an emotion they’ve been repressing/restraining. The victim can either get lost to the emotion or be aware that it’s abnormal, which it’ll be depends on the person’s emotional constitution. On rare occasions, if the repressed emotion is connected to a trauma the power can be heightened to cause panic attacks. The effect is broken by a splash of water or a strong blow to knock them affected out of it.
The pearl-tears can also be used to scout an area from the pearl the stand grips onto, though only one at a time and for a short distance.
Appearance: A non-humanoid stand that bears the appearance of a seahorse. Coloration purple and blue. About the size of a small dog. It’s tail is wrapped around a large shimmering pearl at it’s body concaves perfectly to.

Gelato Biondo
Stand: Truly Madly Deeply
Ability: The stand has several vine appendages (six in total), at which the end of the two main ones are thin needles. The vines can stretch considerably to ensnare his target. The vines can be torn off (this does cause damage to Gelato), but they do regrow (he does feel this pain). The needles in the main ones can cause a sense of numbness but it wears off in five-minutes.
Appearance: A slender humanoid stand, emerald in hue, standing a head taller than it’s user. From it’s torso is six vine-like appendages. It’s legs are spindly, ending in points.
