Chapter Text

There's a Local Hardware store about 15 miles out from the Farm. Today Was Pay Day and someone had to go make a supply run. Everyone was gathered around the kitchen table to watch Shawn Flip the Coin. He was the Best at it, being able to do the thumb flick thing and catch it. Tails meant you didn't have to go, that being said, each member was flipped for.

     Mick: Tails

     Sid: Tails

     Corey: Heads

     Jim: Tails

     Joey: Tails

     Craig: Tails

     Chris: Heads

Paul and Clown Were both exempt, The former Paying and Shawn being the Coin Flipper.

Everyone let out their respective sighs and celebrations as Corey Sulked back to his Room, going to grab His Jacket and Mask. He didn't even want to go, and now he was stuck with Chris. Chris, who was more than Drunk, and not going to help in any way. He shouldn't have been included in the stupid fucking Flip anyway. He was just going to run around And Draw Attention where it wasn't needed. Two guys in Masks Were already a conversation piece, they didn't need the extra noise.

On his way out, Corey heard the scrapping footsteps of The drunken man going to get his own Items and Decided it would be quicker if he got them. They can just leave and come back, and he won't have to listen to Dad Jokes and Golf Trivia.

"Hey, Cor-" Chris was shoved out of the way as Corey rummaged around in his room for the mask.

"It's on the wall, asshole." Chris snatched it off the hook and began strapping it on.

"You shut the fuck up, I was Helping you."

     "Man, whatever."

With that, both men stormed off. Sid calling a quick "goodbye!" To them.

It was Awkward to be mad at someone and walking away in the same direction. When they made it outside, Corey rammed his shoulder into Chris, knocking him to the ground.

"What the fuck is your problem?"

Silence, he's been a Dick Since the Coin flip, Something Chris had no control over, and He's ignoring him. Getting up and trying to get some dirt out of his hair, Chris walked over to where Corey was Still half getting into the truck. Grabbing his arm and the back of his jacket, Chris Threw him into the dirt.

"I asked you what your problem was"

     "And I didn't fucking answer"

When Corey tried to get up, Chris Dragged him a little further from the truck, slamming his down in the end. No one did anything to Corey, and yet he was the biggest dick. Acting like a child who didn't want to do chores. You can't throw a fucking tantrum because you don't like how things are. Chris was about to be Hypocritical and Beat his ass, though. He was Never anything but friendly.

It took so little for Chris to fold. Corey hooked an arm under the back of his knees and pulled, effectively toppling the lager man. He was irritated and didn't want to be around anyone. No one seems to understand that. It always happens that when he gets like this, Chris is around. Sure, it's not Exactly His fault, But He's gonna Leave Corey alone next time.

Corey Punched him, hard, the hand making a Dull Slap sound as it hit the Leather of the mask. Chris pushed and pounded on his chest as Corey pulled the mask off, that really fucking hurt. Chris went for the throat, trying to get the dread head off of him. They flipped for a second, Corey going for another punch. To an outsider, this probably looked brutal, Corey being slammed on the ground by his throat as he clawed at his attacker.

Corey Resorted to open palm slapping, Stunning Chris enough to get the upper hand again. It was his turn to get his hand wrapped around the other's throat. But as he was settling in to that, Chris leaned forward.

"Did you just fucking bite me?!" Corey stood up quick, nearly falling back on his ass.

"You have serious issues man, You're mad about a coin flip, get fucked. Go by yourself."

Corey was dumbfounded, he looked at his arm and Sure enough, There was a full dental imprint. The bastard had even broken skin.

When Chris hit the door, he told Shawn that Corey left without him, not bothering to stop or acknowledge anyone's questions as to why he was so dirty. He'd just bitten a man. It was time to get in the shower and go to sleep.

Jim was the only one sensible enough to look out the window, seeing Corey still in the driveway, equally dirty and confused.

"I'll be back." Jim's mask was in the living room, so the trip outside didn't take too long. When he reached Corey, he saw the blood.

"Oh shit, You two get into a fight?"

    "He bit me."

"He-" Corey cut him off, yelling.

"He fucking bit me! Who does that?!"

"I don't know, man, But it's getting late, and We need To hit the store before it closes."

Jim held his hand out, silently beckoning for the Key. Corey just walked the short distance into the house, slamming the door behind him.

"Okay". Jim was mentally preparing to hot wire the truck as he approached. Luckily for him, Corey had got the key into the ignition before getting thrown out, Sweet. One last scan of the house, Joey's light was on. Jim was sure he'd hear about the fight. Looking back out, he saw Chris's mask on the ground and decided to pick it up, throwing it in the passenger seat next to Corey's. This was all extremely childish.

It was a pleasant drive. The local rock Station wasn't too bad tonight, and the moon was out in full. 'Maybe that's why Chris bit him, He's a fuckin' Werewolf'. Jim's inner monologue was hushed as he lit another cigarette. It took another song and a half before he got there, Nirvana and Something else new. Putting the car in park, Jim slipped into his mask and began to walk inside.

As soon as his foot touched the doorway the Cashier was staring at him. Not a problem, they have all been here multiple times. Jim just never got used to the staring. It bothered him more than the others. He didn't understand why they had to wear the masks in public, it's not like any of them had anything wrong, besides a few mental issues. It just Drew more attention. Even if the whole point was to remain anonymous, surely people knew "the guys in masks" that lived Outside of town and only came in on occasion. The whole setup was weird.

---

Back at the house, Chris had just gotten out of the shower. His face stung, but he made sure to brush his teeth. "Why did I bite him?". No answer as he called out to The steam filled bathroom. 'You know what, I'm not gonna feel bad, Corey's a Dick'.

Somebody is knocking on the door. No one can ever get any privacy in this Godforsaken house.

      "Yeah?"

      "Just checking."

Chris didn't know who that was, but it didn't matter. He finished drying off, taking his towel with him to avoid it being used as toilet paper. It's happened before, he gets out of the shower only to discover a Brown streak. No one has confessed yet, but he's convinced it was Mick. They'd been in an Argument that whole week about laundry. It's the only possibility that lets him sleep at night.

When Chris opened the door, he flinched back, expecting to be punched or jumped at in some way, nothing. It was on odd feeling, he knows someone in the house is mad at him, so Why isn't he being attacked right now? Maybe the bite really did fix Corey's attitude.

     "Thanks for the shower, Mick."

     "Tell Craig I mean it."

---

In Corey's room, he's ranting to Craig. Talking about how no one knows What Personal space and Alone time means. He shoved his arm in Craig's Face and Tells him That they "need to put Chris Down" as he continues on.

"He's biting people now, this is a problem. I knew we should have kicked him out when he took Paul's Beer. He's out of control. I just wanted a Quiet night, and then I get bit by a fucking rabid Dog. Are you seeing this shit?!" Corey waves his arm around again, Craig still indifferent to the whole situation.

     "You made Him Mad."

Corey looked bug-eyed at the man for a moment before continuing.

"I made HIM mad, All I wanted was a Peaceful trip to the store, and He was being a dick."

Craig tuned him out, it was best to just keep to yourself when everyone was in their own Moods. That was didn't last long, Corey began to shake him, asking, "are you deaf or something?"

"You deserved it, He didn't do anything to you."

That was enough to get Corey to Go back to his bed. He just sat there bouncing his leg. The Spring sound quickly began to drive Craig Up the wall, so he left, turning the lights off as he went, maybe some sleep will make him calm down.

He adjusted his shoulders when he got into the hallway, everyone was rough and fought, but no one ever grabbed at him like that. The brief search for Chris began, they were going to sit down and figure this out. He checked Joey's room First, seeing as the light was on.

     "Hey man, what's up?"

     "Chris?"

"Oh he's in the shower, Mick's Bathroom, hey do you know what was going on earlier?"

     "He bit Corey"

"He What?" Joey's question only got a nod, Craig turning to go to Mick's room.

The walk was short, it was two doors up from Joey's, he didn't bother knocking. Mick looked irritated when one of his cats got out but continued watching whatever show was on the TV.

Craig pointed to the door to ask if anyone was in there, but Mick wasn't paying attention. He knocked. It took a second for Chris to finally answered with a short "yeah?"

"Just checking." He began to walk out as Mick called out to him.

"Bring her back in here, if she pissed anywhere, you're cleaning it up." Another nod.

This was turning out to be a lot of Work for something he wasn't all that invested in. He wasn't going to go get the cat, they don't need to be shut up in there all the time, he just left the door cracked, hoping the thing would go back in after a while.

     Footsteps in the hallway.

"Oh, there you are, Mick said he "means it". So you better move your ass." Chris chuckles as he sits next to Craig.

     "Stay."

Craig got up and went back to his room. Corey wasn't asleep when he came back in, so, he led him to the living room. From the hallway, he saw the back of Chris's head.

     "Oh hell no!"

     Chris turns Around.

     "What do you want?"

"Motherfucker, YOU bit ME, You're Insane."

     "You were being a Dick."

"So we're just biting people now? Okay then, come here Craig, you made me mad last week, let me fucking bite you."

      Craig stared at him, "Don't".

"You bite him" Craig points to Chris.

"Fuck no, He was Being an asshole, I was Defending myself"

"You threw me out of the Trunk!"

     "Okay, and, Fuck you."

"Chris." Craig was getting impatient, watching grown men argue was fucking Exhausting. He walked over to Chris, who was Quickly backed into the other Couch.

"Don't fuckin' touch me, man." He didn't put up a fight as Craig grabbed his arm. There was no getting out of this. He motioned his head for Corey to come over. This wasn't fair, He was going to bite Chris extra hard, this was so dumb.

"Bite".

The kitchen door opens. A cheery "I'm home!" And rustling of bags as Jim walks into the living room.

     "Oh, hey guys."

Corey took this distraction to latch on to Chris's arm. He yelled out as the Determined man sunk his teeth further in.

"What the fuck, Corey?! Craig let him go!" Jim rushes over and pushes Craig out of the way. Sensing that Jim will handle it from here, He goes back to his room for the night.

     "Corey, Let Go."

He shakes his head, earning a Yelp from Chris.

"Corey, I said let go. Don't make me get Shawn."

'Mm-mm' another shake, he smiles when Chris winces. There's blood running down his chin.

Jim grabs the hair at the back of his neck and pulls, it hurts Chris to do this, but At least he's free. He scrambles off the couch and to his feet. Jim pulls Corey the rest of the way up.

"Go brush your fucking teeth, you have real problems, you know that?"

     "He did it first."

"And you did it last, fucking go!" Jim was backing him out of the living room, what the fuck happened to them?

When he turned around, Chris wasn't there. There was, however, Blood on the floor, leading to the kitchen. He was washing his arm when Jim walked in, staring out of the window above the sink.

"It was an accident, I just didn't want him to kill me."

     "What happened?"

"He was being a dick about the coin toss, and we got into a fight and I bit him. It was an accident!!" He was on the verge of tears.

"And Now my arm really fuckin' hurts."

"Here, let me see," he takes the injured limb. "Why biting, out of everything? You're a grown ass man, not a toddler."

"I know that! But I wanted it to stop."

"It's okay, let me Get some Bandages, Good think it was Supply day, Yeah?" Jim smiles sweetly, trying to ease the situation. He took his time cleaning Chris up, giving him a moment to relax. This is not how he expected tonight to go. There was going to be an entire house meeting and everyone was gonna know Chris bit Corey, and he'd get picked on pretty harshly, but in a way, they'd all understand. Fuck Corey.
