Chapter Text
Rin never wanted a lot of things.
If you asked his parents… no, if you asked anyone who knew him when he was a child about what he wanted the most, It would most probably be a variation of the phrase
“Like Big Brother”
He would follow his brother like a baby duck following it’s mother duck
He would do everything his brother did. He would frequently get into arguments with other kids about how his big brother, would do ‘this’ or ‘that’. And how his big brother was the ‘best’ in the world
Of course, back the the love for his brother wasn’t one sided.
Sae…
Was only close to rin, He seemed so distant, Bored by everyone and everything around him
The only time he would not seem bored was when he played football or was with his younger brother rin
Rin wasn’t really interested in football, he didn’t find the game particularly interesting and he would much rather just play video games with his brother, but his brother seemed to be really interested in it. His brother was rarely interested in anything so the game must be really fun he thought. So out of pure curiosity and to try to get closer to his brother. He decided to start playing football
He was surprisingly good at it. And not so surprisingly it was fun to play with his brother.
You could feel the excitement and happiness sae fet when rin asked him to teach him how to play football, To him it felt like his two world’s collided
They made a promise to each other, that they would be the best strikers in the world
Seeing sae excited and the promise reassured Rin that he made a good decision by deciding to play football with his brother
But maybe making that decision, The decision that made him so happy when he was younger was the reason for his suffering in his teenage years.
