Chapter Text
Cross could smell the buttery scent of cookies before he saw them. Deliciously cinnamon brown with softened dark chocolate. He smiled widely, nabbing one for himself.
“Jeez Dude, these smell great.” Cross stuffed the one in his hand into his mouth. The outside was crispy with the inside being a mixture of gooey chocolate goodness, the sweet cinnamon taste coated his mouth quickly.
“Fuuuck- Mph’Mdude these ‘re soooo good-“ Cross scrunched his eyes up in joy.
His friend Epic gave him a broad toothed smile, “Only the best for you Bruh!” Which was followed by a large yawn.
Cross wiped crumbs from his mouth and wordlessly grabbed a coffee cup from the counter, passing it to Epic.
Who grabbed it languidly, leaning against the counter to steady himself.
“Mm, thanks Bruh.” Epic tossed Cross a lazy smile and Cross felt his soul expand in his chest.
“Yeah, yeah, Ya’know your coffee consumption is sooo unhealthy.” Cross said this while stuffing another cookie into his mouth.
Epic mocked swatted at him, no ill intent in the blow. Cross ducked under it good naturally smiling with his cheeks full of cookie.
“Ya’ an like your stupid chocolate obsession is better.” Epic rolled a singular eye, his hood moving slightly.
Cross flicked him off happily, Epic’s raucous laughter ringing through the empty kitchen.
Cross smiled once again as his best friend snatched two cookies for himself; yawing before greedily stuffing them into his mouth.
Cross laughed chocking, “Dude slow down-“ Epic grinned happily his canines flashing, “God damn it-“ Cross broke into a fit of giggles.
The sun was rising. It’s golden rays painting Epic beautifully, his tan skin nearly glowing and Cross was happy to finally spend time with the one person he loved.
Even if said person was currently yawing and drinking his third cup of coffee, Cross ruffled Epic’s white hair suddenly and got a cookie in the face for it.
