Chapter Text

It wasn’t even a question, celestia knew. How much did celestia know though? Enough one would say, they knew enough to get gods worried. The gods had to keep themselves and their interactions with each other hidden. This is one of the reasons they stopped doing weekly meeting sessions because there was no doubt in any of the Archons' minds that celestia was watching their every move.

One thing for sure, if celestia knew about the anemo and cryo archons plan hell would rain on Teyvat. The principles has a duty to keep an eye on the archons and all of their interactions with themselves and others. If she saw something like that happening everything everyone knows as Teyvat would be gone.

There were people in the past that the principles couldn’t defeat, they were blonde warriors only told in corrupt legends and fairy tales. They held a power not of this world, descenders. They were descenders, they came from another world in which they held the power of something new.

Venti had a duty, he needed to alert some of the other archons about the plan without being suspicious. The only one he could really talk with, without it being suspicious was Morax.

He didn’t really want to talk to Morax per say but he sort of had to. You see Morax was a bit mad at him for something he did before and ended up throwing a mountain at him. He ignored his bad relations with the geo god and continued on his way.

The anemo god arrived in Liyue with only a soft breeze passing by as an indicator. He started to head towards where he felt the most divine energy assuming it would lead him to Morax.

As Venti made his way there he noticed something off about the air around him, it was passing him by like a virus infecting a person's bloodstream. Something– no someone was here who wasn’t from here.

He noticed the person looking to see if anything was there and Venti quickly hid in the nearest object to him. The person seemed to have blonde hair but Venti couldn’t make out what their hair style was.

The person felt as if it was taking divine energy- no that's not the right word, the person felt as if they were taking divine energy that always belonged to them.

The god had heard stories of two blonde warriors they were old stories coming from the long destroyed nation of Kah’enria. The warriors were crowned royals but that's all he’s ever known to be true. It is said they were descenders.

The person then made a portal, the portal was made of the stars, a common symbol of Kah’enria. The person then left with no traces of their presents. Venti then knew it was the warrior from the old myth.

He tried to forget that entire experience because he had a job to do. Venti needed to speak to the geo archon without making a scene because who knows what Asmoday would do to him.

He followed divine energy again and this time it got him to the geo archon. Morax looked the exact same as he always did before, having the look of ‘I will have order’.

“Hey Morax, buddy, friend, paaal” said Venti trying to not piss off Morax. The geo archon then slowly turned around having the same look of being annoyed.

“So– you can just forget what happened last time” said the anemo archon “and focus on the present because who even remembers what happened? Me? I don’t.” still trying but failing miserably.

“What Barbatos.” Said Morax in a cold stern voice, definitely one that is looking to kill a certain bard who decided it was a good idea to wander in Liyue after clearly knowing what he did.

“Well despite my manner earlier, this is a serious manner” said Barbatos. “I am here to make a contract” said the anemo god now no longer speaking in a joking manner as before.

“A contract? You’re not one for making contracts Barbatos, you do remember what happened last time, right?” said Morax knowing what happened last time.

“I do but this contract- it does benefit you and me, it– it's just risky” said the god of wind “we have to keep this contract quiet for it to work” said Barbatos now in a whispering voice not just for dramatic effect.

“Risky, what makes you think I’d be willing to accept your contract? '' said the geo god “I don’t involve myself in such a way it could get myself in trouble with the princip–” he was then suddenly pushed by the other god.

“Don’t say the name” said the anemo archon, still being in a serious tone just as before “if you truly wish to know what I want, well it involves the gnosis.”

“I have seen moments of the future, I need you to sign a contract. The contract is one with the cryo archon, you give her the gnosis in a several hundred years” said Barbatos whilst Morax was giving a slight hint of ‘this idea is really stupid’.

“Listen I mean give the gnosis because with it she has divine power. Enough divine power can summon celestia or even destroy it” said Barbatos slowly convincing the old god.

“Please” said the god of wind, saying this while also holding out in a hand the papers for the contract. “It is the only way to take the heavens back,” said Barbatos.

Morax looked at the paper, then back at Barbatos. He looked at the paper again and said “I’ll talk with the Tsaritsa myself, I will arrange a deal, a meeting of sorts” in a stone-cold tone voice.

Morax was a leader. That is one way to describe him that everyone can agree on, in modern Teyvat Rex Lapis is dead. When Morax was ‘alive’ he was a leader to his nation, he would appear to the people of his nation giving good wealth and fortune. No matter what form he was in; a woman's body, a dragon or others he saw his people's work and was rewarded when done well.

He had been giving advice to his people for a long time. The old god would think of the conversation he had with Barbatos many times in the future; it would take him a while to decide as the anemo archon was also known as a trickster. Eventually though he decided, he would take the offer as he has been around for a long time.

The Tsaritsa thought back to the conversation she had with Barbatos 100 years ago. She was following the ideas he gave him but he fell into a slumber she wondered if that was also celestia doing.

She wondered if she should really be doing this. Slowly the ice god was starting an uprising of her nation, forming a team of elite and powerful members to retrieve the gnosis’s.

Suddenly she was stopped in her thought by one of her guards coming in “Tsaritsa, there is an urgent letter you need to see. It was sent by the geo archon” said the guard who then left the letter on her desk and left.

She was confused as to why the geo archon would give her a letter but then she thought back to Barbatos saying he would find a way to convince some of the other gods. So the god was less worried and read the letter saying:

To: Tsarita

You might be wondering why I sent you a letter. Well to answer your question it

is because Barbatos a while ago talked to me about your plan. I have been thinking about

what he said for a while now and have given it some thought.

I will plan to meet you to discuss this matter. Please reply back to me on this so that I

can arrange a contract to be put in place discussing the matter.

From, Morax

She looked at the letter for a while. Deciding what would be her next move. She would write back and arrange for a place to meet in private. Somewhere where no one would see them.

So she did write back.

He could sense the cryo archon approaching. They arranged this meeting a while ago. Somewhere where they could talk without the worry of anyone finding out.

“Hello Morax” said the cryo archon in a voice without any real expression. She looked around the area around her. It was a forest. She didn’t know why the other requested to meet here other than the fact he knew it was a private location.

“Hello this is about the deal?” he said in a questioning manner for respect despite the fact he knew that it was most definitely for that reason.

“Yes but I must say the actual deal– well it shouldn’t take place right now” she responded to his question with an answer worthy of way more questions.

“Shouldn't it take place right now? Please elaborate” the geo archon said now in an actual questioning manner because he was actually confused.

“Well I will sign the contract we discussed but I will need the gnosis later” she said “just know that once someone who works for me asks for it, give it” she finished.

“Hm alright I think I understand” said Morax “We should sign the contract right now?” he asked trying not to sound confused but still coming out confused.

“Yes we both signed it. With the changes I proposed” said the cryo archon. When she finished the sentence the contract's rules had already changed to what she had asked for.

They both signed it agreeing to the rules and impacts that the contract would place on them in the future. The geo archon knew the consequences if anyone else found out so he would need to keep it secret until the time is right.

Now it doesn’t matter what historian you’re talking to, everyone has a different view on how the gods interact with each other, some say they interact like one would expect gods to whilst others see it as a sibling bond with one and another. No matter what anyone– even the gods think they act like, it is all wrong. If you are thinking of a one on one interaction with other gods now, that just might be true.

You see the gods in the past interacted a lot but never one on one now the only time they do interact is one on one. Bringing too many creatures with divine power in a room can cause quite a lot of attention. To be more specific unwanted attention from other gods, creatures, or descenders, this isn’t very good for many reasons.

The abyss was a dark place and every single creature there was once a human. They weren’t humans, they were creatures with fragments of human memories.

The reason they were this way was a curse laid upon them by the gods. There were very few left from the destroyed nation who still remained in a human form.

Everyone who still looked human was slowly forgetting themselves not wanting to remember the pain of their nation they worked so hard to create being destroyed.

The abyss had a ruler, their prince. He helped create the nation from the start up until now. The prince was looking for someone, someone with the same blood as them, their twin, their sibling.

“Prince there has been no sign of her anywhere. Do we continue the search” said an abyss mage speaking to Aether, their prince. The abyss mage was still a bit human but they knew it wouldn’t be long till they transformed into it.

“Continue, she has to be out there somewhere” he said, still not giving up hope. He hoped that he would find her one day and they could travel together again.

“Are you sure Prince? Is she really out there?” said the abyss mage in a concerned look knowing just how long the prince had been looking for her with no luck in finding her.

“Don’t” he warned in an aggravated tone “she is out there I can practically sense her energy” he said still a bit angry but starting to cool down.

“Y-yes sir” said the mage “I won’t doubt your authority again” they said this while panicking a bit inside. The prince just looked at the creature and subtly nodded to them to start searching again.

The abyss mage left to alert the others about the orders. This didn’t mean they really wanted to tell the others that their prince was still hell-bent on finding their sibling and leaving them.

The prince knew he would have to stop if he didn’t find her eventually. He didn’t want to but he had a nation to rebuild and he had to take down every god that had wronged him

As time passed and the prince learned more about the world he slowly spent less time worrying about them and focusing on rebuilding his lost nation, losing hope of ever finding her.

His sibling was alive but she had been gone for a long time. She would awake again but only when the time would be right. That is when she would open her eyes again.

Time would pass on as it does. 500 years would pass until a young warrior would awake. She would live on to see the good in people. She would become a hero of Teyvat just like the young Vanessa Venti once knew. Venti knew she would come eventually; he didn't know when yet. Venti didn’t know the name of the warrior either all he knew was that she was a descender.

Venti suspected from what he has seen from the future that she was related in some way shape or form with the prince of Kah’enria because why else would she share basically the same genetic traits while also being a descender. He hoped she wouldn’t be corrupt but he wasn’t able to see that far, only important details of Teyvat that would happen in the future.

All that Venti did know about her is that she would awake close to the time he would. So Venti slept waiting for the danger that would happen in the future. He could only hope that it wasn’t that bad but he had no idea about what it would be other than the force would awake him.

When Venti awoke he felt changes in Monstat just as he had felt every other time but this time felt different almost as if someone had messed with the wind.

This wasn’t good if someone had messed with the wind. He didn’t feel as if that was it, the wind felt different, it felt more harsh but it also felt like a piece of it had been corrupted.

The wind god decided to investigate this new spot in time. He would need to try and stay hidden the best he can because if anyone sees him he doesn’t know what would happen.

Many times things have totally changed when he tried to go back into society without knowing what was happening at the time. He decided it was best to stay hidden for a while after that.

He looked around his surroundings, he was in a deep part of the forest blocked entry inside by the magic of the wind. He slowly started to stand up from the current position he was in.

Venti was very stiff so he guessed it had been a pretty long time since last he had awoken. Venti removed the barrier he made for himself and started heading forward whilst trying to be secretive.

Suddenly he stopped and hid better for a second because he heard a voice coming from somewhere. It was a young boy with long silver hair racing through the woods at a very fast paste.

He ignored what he just saw and continued heading forward. He saw two people talking, one with brown hair and a red bow, the other with blue hair.

“I’m telling you Eula you shouldn’t pay attention to what others think about you” said the brown haired girl. Venti assumed now onwards that the blue haired girl was named Eula.

“I-I don’t care what they think–” said the blue haired girl whom Venti assumed was named ‘Eula’ “-I know they are just saying that because of my family” this last sentence scared Venti. Why would someone hate someone because of their blood?

Venti then realized that the blue haired girl, Eula, was probably a part of the Laurence Clan due to the fact they were the only family Venti knew of to be hated in Monstat. Even then it was her blood not her beliefs.

The brown haired girl pulled the blue haired girl into a hug. The blue haired girl let out a smile and let the hug happen but she didn’t contribute to the hug any further from that.

Venti thought that was a nice interaction and gave him an understanding that most people still talk the same way as before so Venti wouldn’t need to change his speech.

Venti would wait and listen to hear if he could hear any prayers if they brought anything insightful. Most of them he couldn’t hear very well but it gave him a bit of an understanding of what was happening in town.

Venti decided that he should go into the city and see what new things are happening there. Yes this would mean he would be there publically but it couldn’t go that badly, right?

Oh celestia how wrong did it go. Well the first bit of the day was normal. Venti walked into the city and talked with a few people who all greeted him pleasantly.

Most were wondering where in Teyvat he came from so he did what he usually did, told them he was from Inazuma because it was so far away.

This was a bad idea because people gave him a saddening look and told him it would get better. He realized that he probably shouldn’t say that again because something was happening in Inazuma, so from now on when someone asks him that question he just says nothing in response.

Venti interacted with the community a lot more and began hearing stories of a ‘storm terror’ in old Monstat. Venti knew that was most likely the problem and he would need to investigate it.

He didn’t really want to go into Dawn Winery because last time he went into it they changed wine so Venti didn’t like it as much anymore. He hoped they fixed it so he could enjoy having it again.

When Venti came into Dawn Winery the red haired person working at the store mumbled something about kids trying to get alcohol out of him again.

Venti said “Can I get Dandelion Wine?”. The worker grumbled in response to Venti’s question showing signs of not believing that he was really old enough.

“Look kid, you're not old enough just go back to your parents” said the red haired man “I can’t get you wine you’re not allowed it” he finished.

“I don’t have parents” said Venti, hoping maybe he could pity the worker because he really just wanted some wine. The statement he said was technically true because he hasn’t seen his creator in forever.

“Ok? You’re still not getting wine, you're too young” said the red haired worker showing signs of getting pretty annoyed at Venti.

Venti left because he knew he couldn’t get wine out of the worker despite him being old enough, but Venti knew he would just annoy the worker until he would give him wine. Venti did just that and it worked.

Venti let the time pass on and it had been about 10 months since his arrival. He had been trying to contact Dvalin the entire time but it hadn’t been working.

He knew that the dragon could hear him but he also knew the dragon was corrupted from their last fight together. Venti decided to play an old song and see if it worked in bringing the dragon to him.

He was surprised when it did work. He was trying his best to convince him to stay and let Venti try and help him but it wasn’t working. His dragon didn’t believe him and thought he abandoned him.

He was still trying to do just that until he saw someone in the bushes and Dvalin ran off again. The person was the blonde haired descender he saw before.

Notes:

I was done with this chapter a while ago I just had to do some editing. Originally I wasn't going to add the traveller and their twin, now I have an entire chapter. (Just reminding everyone none of this is canon as far as I know and I'm making it up in my head)

Notes:

Wow, kinda proud of myself. Now just hope I can find ideas for the other chapters.
