Summary
Like many times before and many times yet to come, he was trapped in the moment when the sky wept and poison defiled the soil. Punishment thundered from the heavens as it ought to, burning the old world another final time. The ashy dragon—an innocent child—may have fallen, but remnants of its abyssal poison stubbornly clung to his essence. Enough had been cleansed that one desperate prayer managed to break him from absolute stasis, even if he couldn’t yet maintain this level of awareness for too long.

Despite her elusive motives, this particular experiment almost seems like a 'gift'...that, or an upcoming social and political issue for him to deal with.[Part of my 'immortals are basically vampires' AU but doesn't need much context apart from this.]

“What should we do with him?” Mydei speaks quietly, with great caution. It's not his regular voice, but Phainon is sleeping on his lap, and he's a child. It's madness.
