Rosaria slowly spins around on her gaming chair she got at some shady thrift shop. her magenta hair plastered onto the cheap material as she looks up slightly with her smothered neck straining. She inhales a little - Her room reaks of her not-so-secret stash of alcohol and Royal Crimson perfume, a smell that had not been there this morning. She waited on her best friend to answer, unaware that her video call was also on.
"Okay, what the fuck do you- Holy shit!"
Her daze had been interrupted, and she sat up a little at the sound of Kaeya's voice. She turned towards her phone. which was platformed against her monitor. On her screen was tired-eyed Kaeya, their navy hair tied up in a messy bun with a pink scrunchie and a few strands of his bangs covering his right eye to compensate for the lack of an eyepatch. Small strands of their hair decorated the pillowcase underneath his head and their face now displays the inner corners of his eyebrows rose more than they should.
"Holy shit, who mauled your neck?" Kaeya urgently whispers, cautious of butlers and maids around the house.
"Signora. And is it that bad? I haven't looked yet." She grabs her phone switching the screen so that rather than Kaeya being the main focus, it's her.
Holy Shit... she thinks as she analyses the purple hickeys on her neck. They're dotted all around, from where her jaw meets her ear to the middle of her collarbone.
"Wow, that certainly was a fight session, huh." Rosaria switched the screen and narrows an eye at the person on her phone stifling a laugh.
"I don't even have any more foundation to cover this up oh my god" comes out in a long groan as Kaeya sits up from his lying position in bed, their 'Tina Snow' Shirt now in full view.
"You know that turtleneck I left at yours back in winter? Just wear that under your uniform."
Sometimes Roastia is grateful for Kaeya.
"For exes, neither of you is acting like one."
Rosaria would like to emphasize Sometimes .
"Don't piss me off"

Rosaria see that Kaeya turns his body from what was a bird's eye view of him to now a side view as they get more comfortable.
"But seriously Rosie, are you good with all... this?" His expression looked a little too serious for Rosaria to joke around so she answers honestly.
"It's whatever."
A scowl forms on Kaeya's face.
"Seriously?! She broke up with you, ghosted you, right after you asked why for like months and returned to your life like it's okay? Rosie your standards are usually way better than this."
"Don't talk to be about standards Alberich when you can't even manage your own! May I remind you who dated some ginger fish-obsessed freak boasting about his lovers on his priv to you?" Rosaria can't help but snap back, the realisation quickly hitting her that what she said could have been hurtful only to see a sort of sympathetic half smile on her best friend's face.
"At least you don't see me making out with him every time I'm not mad at him. And he's not a freak! He's just a bit of a dick" They huffed, rubbing his only visible eye with the bottom of his palm. "Look I just don't want you to get hurt again babe but at the end of the day it's your decision."
The call is silent on both ends, not uncomfortable or awkward. It's just that neither knows what to say.
"Thanks..."
"What was that?"
"Shut it. Anyways what's with you and Ayaka?"
Kaeya let out an exaggerated yawn, tapping his mouth with his free hand.
"I have no idea what you one about my dear Rosaria. Well, would you look at the time, to be up this late on a school night is crazy. Goodnight!"
"Shut it Kaeya, it's my turn to police you."
"Fine, fine. I'll have you know I am genuinely tired and I do need to catch up on my sleep in science classes!"
"Or you're a little bitch that actually can't talk to people."
"I'd prefer the words socially challenged."
Rosaria chuckled. Only a little though. It wasn't that funny.
"It's so odd honestly Kaeya, you can be so confident most of the time but the moment you talk to someone you don't know, you're all shy."
"Well I know Ayaka we talk a lot in the server, it's just..." They sigh, scratching at their head in frustration. "I don't even know! Like, what if she doesn't like me in real life, I'd actually be so embarrassed."
Rosaria leaned back in her chair, a small yawn coming out of her mouth.
"You're overthinking. Ayaka is sickeningly sweet you'll be fine Dummy. And from what I can tell, she genuinely wants to be friends."
Kaeya closes his eyes, his lips tightening into a thin smile, and with that Rosaira drop the conversation. She wouldn't be getting another word out of him tonight.
"Whatever, imma sleep. You should too before you do sleep in class. Goodnight loser."
Kaeya chuckles. "Goodnight my wonderful amazing bestest friend in the whole wide world, I love you soo-"
Rosaria cuts the call.
