That's how Dennis wakes, screaming, and thrashing in the arms around him because he's still trying to run to that younger version of himself. Trinity is trying to push him back down towards his mattress but it takes him a good few seconds to realize that, for his brain to connect back with his current reality. She's trying to speak, to calm him, but between his own screams and the chanting still filling his ears he hadn't heard a single word she'd said.

Whitaker hadn't lied when he said he grew up rural but he may or may not have undersold quite how rural the first year or so of his life was. It was fine though there was no reason to drag up the past, he had a good job, new friends and a tolerable living situation. The last thing he needed was to drag up old memories.
He doesn't get much of a choice though when an old family friend shows up to the ER with a Jane Doe suffering from a rather suspicious overdose

Dennis just has a prosthetic leg, doesn’t know Abbot has one too so he keeps it to himself cause he’s ashamed lowk. Abbot doesn’t know he doesn’t have a leg either and finds out after awhile. Adoption ensures?
