Chapter Text

When Raelle woke that morning, it was in a panic. The bed was light where Scylla once lay, the house was eerily quiet and she didn’t seem to be inside. Even when she ventured outside, she was met with nothing but Sarah mirroring the look on her face.

“I can’t find Scylla!”

“I can’t find Tally!”

They spoke at the same time, Raelle continuing to worry about where her soulmate had gone. The blonde paced back and forth, stopping in her tracks when her eyes once again landed on Sarah, seemingly now much calmer than she was seconds ago. How was she already okay with this? Scylla was gone and she was a nervous wreck, Tally is gone and seconds later all is fine? “How are you suddenly so okay with this? Sarah they’re-”

“Raelle stop.” She interrupts the pacing blonde, stepping forwards placing her arms on Raelle’s shoulders in an attempt to calm her, though it has little affect. The fixer's eyes dart back and forth, searching the land behind Sarah as if the other half of her soul would suddenly just appear. “Close your eyes, listen to your bond, just listen.” She does as she’s told, eyes closed as she focuses on Scylla, listens for her. She follows the bond where it leads her, trusts it to take her to Scylla, then eyes blue snap open as she realises.

“She’s with the Goddess?” Sarah merely nods in agreement, the pair waiting together until they had both, mainly Raelle, calmed down enough to return inside.

It’s days later before the pair return, Raelle waiting in the same place she had been since Scylla had gone at the back of their home. As soon as she heard commotion inside their house, she stopped pacing around the garden, running through the house towards the epicentre of the sound, until she fell into Scylla’s arms. The brunette locked onto her instantly, the brightest grin spread across her face. The blonde knew, whatever caused such a smile she couldn't ask about. Not yet.

But she didn’t mind. All she needed was in front of her. Careful hands roamed Scylla’s face, her arms, checking she was unharmed. The necro couldn’t help but chuckle, shaking her head as she took Raelle’s hands in her own. “Hey, I’m okay. Promise.”

“I’m just glad you’re back.” Raelle smiles, slipping her hand free from Scylla’s as she caresses the brunette’s cheek, foreheads pressed together. Seconds later the door slams open, causing the pair to jump apart. So much for finally having their own homes...

“Any minute now! They’ll be here!” Tally ran into the room, bursting with excitement. The pair looked on at her in confusion, not following the knower’s line of thought… or sight. Whatever she had seen, the pair both drew the conclusion it was something worth getting excited for.

“The last of us, the fifth chosen one is due to arrive shortly.” Attention was drawn to the doorway as Sarah sauntered in, making herself at home on the sofa as if this was the most common occurrence. Raelle and Scylla just stared at the older woman blankly, watching as she simply shrugged and sat in wait, well used to Tally knowing things before her at this stage.

It wasn’t long until Tally’s statement rang true, the redhead running to the door with a smile still plastered on her face as soon as the first knock rang clear. Scylla could hear talking though it wasn’t loud enough to make out. When Tally returned alone the confusion returned, though the knower was still as happy as ever, pulling the trio towards the door. “Apparently whatever the Goddess wants done is happening now, and there’s no way you’re missing any of it.” The redhead bites at her lip to attempt to contain her smile, dimples on full display as she gathers everyone, pulling Raelle and Scylla towards the door.

Raelle shakes her head with a chuckle as the four make their way out. There were no introductions, just walking. Without a word. The necro and fixer shared a glance, Scylla raising a brow at the lack of greeting, but neither mentioned it. Abigail led the group through the town wordlessly, seemingly knowing her way around already. They finally began to slow down, the blaster smiling as Adil came into view.

“Everyone, this is Adil. I’m Abigail.” Before anyone can reply the blaster wears a confident smile on her face, swaying slightly as she watches her man turn around, kneeling to the ground. He begins to omit a low guttural sound, much like a growl, Scylla thinks to herself. His fist soon meets the dirt and the earth begins to split, deep river beds emerge, winding and bending far into the distance further than the eye can see. Raelle has to admit, she's impressed by his work. It's nothing like she's ever seen before, nothing like she's read about. And Scylla can definitely vouch for the fact that she owns practically every book related to witchcraft.

Abigail soon joins in, calling upon the clouds and skies as rain begins to fall. Pouring down to nourish the dried earth and begin to slowly fill the newly formed rivers. She turns around, standing proud in front of the group who fail to attempt to shield themselves from the rain, arms behind her back as she stands tall. “The rain will continue for a few days, but it needs to be done. Now if you’ll excuse us, I believe we have a new home to view.”

As Adil approaches her side, the blaster’s smile softens, taking his hand as they leave the group with promises to return later and get to know each other better. Raelle turns to Scylla, pursing her lips with a small shrug of her shoulders as she breathes in the open air. “So what do you think happens now?”

As the necro opens her mouth to speak, Sarah steps forwards wearing a smile of her own, looking around the still dead town. “Now, we remake this place in Her image.”
