Summary
Lieutenant Raelle Collar is making her way through the military - she doesn't really have time for anything else, especially a distraction in the form of new Cryptanalyst Scylla Ramshorn. She's busy training recruits, dealing with military politics, and apprehending Nicte Batan, the leader of the terrorist organisation determined to bring down the traditional military by any means possible. Raelle is a Grounder, one of a breed who is never expected to succeed in the Spacer-dominated military. She's never really thought about politics before, but Scylla is feeding her with ideas she can't ignore. Is there something more going on with Scylla, and does it have something to do with the terrorists Raelle has dedicated her life to fighting?
This fic came about as a challenge from a friend to write a Raylla fic inspired by the song “Blue” that had something to do with Space… so here goes.

Summary
When world-famous actress Scylla Ramshorn ducks into a small Brooklyn workshop to escape paparazzi, she doesn’t expect to meet someone who’ll change her life. But Raelle Collar, a sharp, scruffy woodworker with a quiet wit and no clue who she is—does exactly that. What starts as a moment of refuge becomes something undeniable, something real.
Over several days in New York, Scylla and Raelle fall, slowly, unexpectedly, all-in. But when Scylla leaves for LA, fame, distance, and fear creep in. Their story could’ve ended there. It doesn’t.
Instead, they learn how to stay.
Set between New York, LA and the quiet places in between, this is a story about fame as noise, love as steadiness. About being seen without being watched. About holding onto softness and making something beautiful and real.
Together, they navigate red carpets, press tours, and late nights in a Brooklyn loft filled with sawdust and love.

Summary
Cruelty, like the sun which does not relent above her, her skin stinging, her feet raw, her eyes unseeing, a little bit now. They were cruel enough, they were god damned cruel enough.
She did not deserve this, she deserved the bullet. Quick and easy and clean, so very clean, no mangled flesh, only nothing. Quick and easy.

Conlang Dialogue: Motherland: Fort Salem (Freeform) by Dedalvs
Fandom Motherland: Fort Salem (TV)
24 Aug 2022
Summary
This is the various conlang dialogue Jessie Peterson and I translated for Freeform's Motherland: Fort Salem, an original series by Eliot Laurence. Méníshè, the language featured in the show, is a language spoken only by witches, passed down from generation to generation. It's a register tone language with ejectives and a noun class system. The language was co-created by myself and Jessie—the first of a very fruitful collaboration.
