An alternate ending/branch to Liamode (which I may or may not eventually finish posting.)
Basically, a Digimon AU where humans are exceedingly valuable because of the immense power boost they grant to a Digimon... and treated as valuable property because of it. While there are outliers from other Servers who believe that an equal partnership is how the Digimon-human bond is supposed to work... this Server is dominated by the Slaver Coalition, who have set up an entire society based on keeping humans as Batteries.
Lots of worldbuilding, surprising amounts of slow burn (for me anyway) and much fun. Credit for the Duracell World concept goes to HeeberJebers.

A sappy ending to LiS 1. A sappy ending where Double Exposure does not exist. Thank god.

It was the first time they’d heard her laugh. When she stuck her tiny fingers past the threshold and into the rain, kicking her feet against Katsuki chest to get closer to the rain. Honestly, what were they supposed to do? Not sit out in the rain so their baby could laugh anytime she got a little wet?
