Chapter Text

A pair of hazel eyes watched in great detail the image before their eyes, a smile could not help but form on his face.

- Did you finally meet with them Weiss? - Oscar Pine asked the air, his body felt tired, so he put all his weight on his cane... long memory still supported him after all these years.

-Ruby was always special... she always planned everything even after she died... she never ceased to surprise me even at the end- one of his hands touched the figure in front of him, his fingers touched the reliefs of the writing on the metal plate, when he looked up a little he could see more detail.

Ruby Rose

Weiss Schnee

Her two friends had joined their classmates and friends at that monument that would stand for posterity, the two girls had smiles and looked as she remembered them in her youth, they were next to Blake and Yang, in the center between the four statues was that plaque that had captured Oscar's attention.

"Team RWBY forever"

-Even in the snow a rose can be born, as long as the sun gives it life and the shadow protects it... it is curious how such different people made a beautiful family- Oscar's gaze turned to the starry sky, the cold of the night was starting to get into his bones and the passers-by could be counted on his fingers - was this always your plan Ozma? -

The wind suddenly acquired a force that shook the coat that covered Oscar from the cold, and he could not avoid covering his eyes. -You give me too much credit, old friend-

Oscar's spine jerked at the voice he heard next to him, his eyes slowly opened, only to see the man he considered his greatest friend and companion in his life, his appearance was the same that Ginn showed him so many years ago, he even had a replica of his cane,

-It's been a long time Ozma- his vision blurred by tears in her eyes.

-Oscar, you've grown up well- the gentle smile the wizard gave him warmed the farmer.

-I hope I did well-said Oscar.

At them Ozma shook his head, -You didn't just do well, you did excellent, you and all my dear students accomplished what I could not in centuries... I am proud of all of you- Ozma slowly approached Oscar, reaching out a hand to gently touch his shoulder in a comforting gesture. Her eyes reflected the wisdom of centuries lived and the understanding of what Oscar had gone through.

It was before this gesture that Oscar's body felt lighter and he could see how the city was without people, it seemed that time had stopped, it was at that moment that he finally understood the visit of his friend.

-So that's it, the trip is over- asked Oscar.

-I regret to say yes- Ozma replied regretfully.

- Why are you apologizing? - In spite of everything, he did not feel bad, on the contrary, only tranquility flooded Oscar's body -It was obvious that everything would come to an end... we all learned that nothing good comes from eternity- they both could not laugh at the joke.

-You've gone cheeky boy- Ozma accused.

-You learn a few things after living with you and Qrow for so many years- the farmer defended himself.

-Yes... I guess you do... Look at you now, that boy who was a farmer in his youth became one of the world's greatest heroes- Ozma's gaze radiated only pride at those words.

The atmosphere between them was silent for a few minutes until Oscar broke it: -I don't know how to thank you enough for everything you have given me, Ozma. Without your wisdom and advice, I wouldn't have made it this far- said Oscar humbly.

Ozma smiled warmly. - No need to thank me, Oscar. It was an honor to be a part of your life and watch you grow into a brave and righteous man. You are an example to all of us and I am proud to have known you-

-Ozma, I've always had a doubt - before them his friend paid close attention to him - Was I a good host? -

At the question Ozma denied -Oscar... you were not a good host... you were the best- that legendary magician could not help but embrace the man he considered his son for many years -It is time to go- -It is time to go-.

- Will I see the others again? - asked Oscar as he wiped his tears after the hug.

-Why don't you find out for yourself- Ozma raised her right hand and Oscar took it without hesitation.

It was hours before the first passerby visited the heroes' monument, only to find Oscar's body lying next to the statues of his friends, all while he slept eternally with a smile on his face.

It was that day when the last Remnant hero had left the world to begin a new journey.

Place and time unknown

You know, all my life I always listened to the stories that my sister told me, since I was a child I admired the heroes, even though I didn't look like one.

But tell me, who wouldn't, some were powerful, others super smart, but there were a few who even without gifts sought to do good no matter what, it was those kind of people I admired the most and it was because of them that I wanted to be a heroine to the world as well.

I never imagined that this road would be easy, but by Oum! it was extremely difficult, and it all started because of a girl who exploited my supplies to be a heroine, I still remember all my dust flying by that beacon of hope... if I am honest, I thought I would hate that girl... now I can say that I am so glad I was wrong, she was the best thing that happened to me in life, because of her I also met the sun and its shadow, the perfect antithesis of love.

I had so many adventures with all of them, and we were not alone, no, we were joined by many other people, some quiet, some with excess energy, some clumsy and others more intelligent.

And of course we had losses, many of which still hurt, but it's something I've learned to live with.

We all faced terrors, sometimes we wanted to give up, who wouldn't, I still wonder how we didn't... maybe it was a miracle or our stubbornness or a bit of both... the important thing is that in the end we won... even if the cost was high.

We were recognized, admired, but we never cared, in the end we were heroes, I fulfilled my dream as a child... but along the way I found one that was more important and worth living for... to have a family.

Even as an ice queen I could have a rose that brought color to my life, a sun that warmed my soul and a shadow that cared for my being.

The darkness was the only thing that Weiss perceived, that curiously did not bother Weiss, in spite of the loss of her sense she felt calm, she tried to move her hands and managed to feel the grass in her hands, as well as in the rest of her body.

-They say that heroes never act for their own benefit, nor for fame or glory, but only to help people, no matter if it is only one or millions,- Weiss tried to shake his head at the voice he heard -You have accomplished this Weiss-

- Who are you? - asked Weiss

-You were a hero no matter the challenges and you never sought rewards... that doesn't mean you don't deserve them-

- The blacksmith?... Am I back in Ever After? - Weiss's mind recalled the voice of the being he saw in his youth.

-Enjoy it, Weiss... you've earned it, and so have the others.-

From one moment to another the darkness turned into light blinding Weiss, when she was able to recover her vision she realized the environment where she was, in front of her was a huge golden grassy path, when she looked up she saw that she was protected from the sun by a huge tree, it was when she inspected her surroundings more that she came across a sight that froze her heart.

-You look like you've seen a ghost Weiss- silver eyes glittered with humor.

-It´s great see you again Weiss- The cat's ears twitched with glee.

-You did make us wait- the lilac eyes sparkled with affection.

They all fell to the ground as they were pushed to the ground by Weiss who threw herself into an embrace.

-I missed them so much- Weiss's eyes watered, as her voice cracked.

-We told you, Team RWBY forever, didn't we? - Blake, Ruby and Yang's arms wrapped around their friend.

-Don't leave me again... please- pleaded Weiss.

-We will never do it," the three answered with conviction.

After a few minutes the four girls calmed down, the blue eyes looked fondly at their friends -Thank you for waiting for me-.

-Nonsense Weiss, we could never leave you- Ruby's hug and smile told Weiss the absolute truth -Now, why don't we go, Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, Ren, Penny, Winter and the others are waiting for us- she said.

The smile could not escape Weiss -Yes, it is time, but only if we go together-.

All my life I wondered how my story would end, now I know that even with the pains, it was never perfect... but, inside those imperfections is the most beautiful thing I have ever known... I wonder if anyone will know my story... I hope so.

-So, Weiss, shall we go? - Weiss was brought back to reality by Ruby who was offering her hand, Yang and Blake were hugging up ahead while watching them with a huge smile.

Weiss for her part did not hesitate... she would never do it again and decisively took Ruby's hand. They all moved on to a new destination.
