Chapter Text
Once first period is over they escape in to the halls. Heading to her next class Tori tries desperately to seem completely normal. Unfortunately she is so on edge that she practically jumps at every sudden noise. She earns more than her fair share of odd looks and disapproving glances.
Ultimately Tori debates skipping Sikowitz’s class today. Unfortunately with her luck if she tries it she’ll get caught by vice Principal Dickers and cornered in the closet being forced to pop his back pimple again. Instead she takes a seat completely lost in her own thoughts. She doesn’t even notice when Jade takes the seat next to her.
“Vega, you doing okay?” Asks Jade softly.
“Yeah just torturing myself with bad memories.” Responds Tori forcing a smile.
“After school, you want to go get you a new phone, and then have a legitimate date?” Asks Jade with a smirk.
“What did you have in mind?” Asks Tori her smile growing warmer.
“Well there’s this haunted house we could go to.” Replies Jade her smirk sharpening.
“No haunted houses!” Snaps Tori almost growing too loud.
“Fine no horror stuff, yet.” Concedes Jade.
After class the two rush out of the room and try to get to the Grub Truck as fast as they can. Being the first ones at the table will give them a few moments to prepare their confession. Tori gets out as much of her nerves and freak outs as she can, while Jade is there for her. Cat is the first to join them, not saying a word and Barry opening her mouth.
Once the table is filled with their friends and Trina draping herself all over Beck. Jade squeezes Tori’s hand beneath the table. Jade is the first to speak, taking the brunt of their friends attention allowing Tori a few moments to breathe. Jade’s voice cuts through everything.
“I have an announcement so shut up!” Jade barks out just louder than her normal tone. “Like I said at Vega’s house, somebody told me that they loved me. We’ve talked since then, and we decided to be open and honest. At least with all of you.”
“Jade, you don’t have to make up someone just to seem more interesting, you’re not Robbie!” Exclaims Trina with a smug smile.
“Consider your self lucky annoying Vega!” Snaps Jade standing up from the table. “I’m in a good mood so you get one. Keep it up and maybe your breaks will get cut.”
“So who is it Jade?” Asks Beck with a smug knowing grin.
“It was me.” Exclaims Tori standing next to Jade and lacing their fingers together. “I realized that I had stronger feeling for Jade than I ever let myself image. After a series of freak outs that night, I confessed to her on our fake date.”
“It surprised the hell out of me at first. But I have basically been obsessed with her since her first day here.” Adds Jade with an oversized grin of her own.
“Seriously ladies, you don’t need to lie to us.” Counters Robbie with a self satisfied grin.
“Shapiro, it may surprise you to hear this, but we don’t come up with plans just to screw with you!” Growls Jade while glaring at the bespectacled boy. “In fact I never think about you if I can help it.”
“What Jade is trying to say, is that we are serious about this. We love each other and we want to try dating each other.” Tori emphasizes this by moving her arm around Jade and pulling her in close.
“Yay!” Exclaims Cat bouncing up and down in her seat. “I didn’t say anything, but now I can. Congratulations.”
“Cat you knew!?!” Asks Andre looking between all three girls.
“She walked in on a conversation between us.” Exclaims Jade her eyes glancing over the whole group.
“Well damn, now I feel bad I didn’t see any of this coming.” Sighs Andre. “But if you two are happy, we’re happy for you.”
“Rex and I still aren’t convinced.” Dismisses Robbie as he raises his puppet on to the table.
“There is one way you can prove it though.” Exclaims the puppet in a smug voice.
“Robbie, we are not going to make out in front of you and your puppet!” Aggressively says Tori.
“Eh, worth a shot.” Sighs Rex, as everyone moves just a little further away from the two of them.
“I’m definitely happy for you little sis.” Smiles Trina while holding Beck tighter than ever. “More boys for me.”
“Tori, good luck with Jade.” Teases Beck from Trina’s side. “And Jade, treat her right.”
“You’re not mad at me?” Asks Tori looking at her girlfriend’s ex boyfriend.
“I didn’t say that. But you can’t help how you feel.” Dismisses Beck with a blank face.
The rest of lunch goes smoothly for the group. Trina never stops touching Beck, though he never reciprocates her affections. Tori and Jade take to publicly displaying their feelings comfortably. Though the most either of them is willing to show off for now is touching and hand holding.

Jade should be happy. She is happy, but there’s something that’s just nagging at her. An annoying, smug, and an entirely too punchable face is occupying her thoughts. Walking the halls just after the last class, she spots that punchable face and zeroes in.
Rushing up and taking hold of Becks hair, she pulls him past their lockers and in to her private office. Once within the janitors closet she releases his dark tresses. His normally calm face is a wash in pain and anger.
“Ya know Jade you’re dating Tori ow, you keep pulling me in here and people are going to talk.” Quips Beck.
“Then I’ll just have to rip out a lock of your hair or bust a lip so they don’t!” Responds Jade not in the mood. “You need to cut Tori some slack!”
“I don’t need to do anything.” Counters Be k with no joy or humor in his voice. “She made the moves on my girlfriend. It doesn’t matter that we broke up after she knew what was going on before she did it.”
“She was torn up about her feelings before she said anything. And she didn’t actively try to steal me. She confessed her feelings because she couldn’t ignore them after she realized how strong they were.” Elaborates Jade her voice almost breaking.
“This is super important to you.” States Beck wrapping his mind around his ex’s feelings. “Tell me one thing, if she hadn’t told you how she feels would you still have broken up with me?”
“Yes.” Answers Jade crossing her arms. “It probably would have taken more prompting or not the way Trina was hanging all over you. But it still would have happened. None of what I said about us was wrong.”
Beck looks over Hade for almost a minute before responding. “Okay, I’ll apologize to Tori I’m still gonna be mad about parts of this break up, but I shouldn’t be mad at her directly.”

The two burst out of the janitors closet just as Tori is closing her locker. She stares on at the former couple with a mixture of fear and confusion. A part of her mind can’t help but think that Jade just threatened her ex with bodily harm for some reason. She braces herself when Be k comes to a stop in front of her.
“Tori, look, it’s wrong of me to be mad at you specifically for how things went down between me and Jade.” Apologizes Beck with a half smile. “I’m still mad about us breaking up and it being such a public thing, but you don’t deserve the focus of it. I will try my best not to take any of my anger out on you.”
“Thank you for your understanding Beck.” Responds Tori with a smile. “I should have kept my feelings to myself instead of confessing everything to Jade like that. But I one day I discovered I was gay, in love with a girl, and had to go on a fake romantic date with her. So needless to say I freaked the freak out.”
“I get that, and I’m sure that Jade and I needed to break up.” Confesses Beck himself. “It’s just gonna be a boy before I fully get over it all. So have a good weekend.”
“Oh we will!” Adds Jade walking over to Tori and taking her by the hand. “Good by Beck!”
Jade and Tori walk down the halls of Hollywood Arts, side by side, have in hand. Jade shoves the doors open as the two walk outside, and in the direction on Jade’s car. The duo climb in to the car and quickly pull out of the parking lot. They are intent on driving off to the next step in their lives.
