Summary
Because who believes Nancy "I'm sure Steve will take you home" Wheeler is going to find it funny Steve Harrington has found the one, even if it's clearly a joke? Exactly: no one. That's who.
(Of Steve and Nancy, in the hours after the epilogue rooftop scene: What if they were already together? Only, Jonathan and (mostly) Robin had no clue.)

Summary
When the suits came round and forced a thick stack of papers under Wayne’s hands to sign his silence away, along with his trailer for “study,” promising that they were lining up a new place for him as they spoke (and didn’t that raise more questions than it answered, he thought), it was a tall woman in a severe suit who had told him that Eddie was in the hospital. She led, of course, with how they had cleared his name of any wrong doing — the Carver boy, a psychotic break, details Wayne didn’t care to remember in the least — and that he was a hero, and it would be a hard road ahead of him but he would live —
“Live?” Wayne had asked hoarsely.
The woman had grimaced. “Yes. I’m sorry. He and a few other children were injured saving the — Carver’s last victim. Your nephew was the worst of them. But the doctors are optimistic about his recovery, said Harrington and the others got him to the hospital just in time.”
Or, a snapshot from a universe where Eddie Munson lives, Stephanie “Stevie” Harrington has always been the babysitter, and Wayne Munson is Hawinks High’s Women’s Basketball’s number one supporter.Series

Summary
As he stares down at her, Steve realizes that he will probably always love Nancy Wheeler.
And that’s okay.
Sure, it would always sting, but he would find some way to move on. He just has to find his own Suzie, as Dustin said… And maybe one day he will. Maybe one day he’ll have those six kids and someone to share all that with - someone to grow with. Someone who sees him as more than just some dumb has-been that peaked in high school.
One day, he knows someone will make him feel at least a fraction of what he felt when he was with Nancy. And he’s aware how melodramatic it all sounds, and to some what they had may have just been young, high school love. And he’s not even sure if those people would be wrong. But whatever it was, it certainly left its mark on him.
For now? Well, he’s crawling forward.
Or, at least... he's trying to.
