Chapter Text
Out of all the people on the server he could’ve been kidnapped by, of course it was Jimmy.
It was quite pathetic, being stuck in an obsidian box, with no tools, armour or methods of communication and being taunted by Jimmy.
He wasn’t that worried though. Jimmy was quite harmless, so BigB was pretty safe unless Joel or Grian decided to show up.
All he had to do was wait until Jimmy left for one reason or another and then escape.
As it turned out, Jimmy did not leave. He had been stood outside the obsidian box, blocking the only exit, and rambling on about something to BigB.
It made the box feel very claustrophobic.
The knowledge that the only way out is by painfully mining the obsidian around him wasn’t helping.
Jimmy was still talking, and it was not helping.
He could feel the walls closing in, tighter and tighter and smaller and smaller, and then he couldn’t breathe—
“BigB? Take a breath, alright?”
Jimmy’s voice cut through the panic, and BigB latched onto it, trying to follow his instructions. He breathed, slowly, and shallowly.
“Yeah, just like that B.”
He heard the sound of obsidian being broken, and then footsteps next to him. Then, a hand awkwardly placed on his shoulder.
“Are you alright? Wait, no, don’t answer that I know you’re not you just… Did I make this too small?”
BigB was about to respond, say something like it’s fine I don’t even know what happened you can go back to guarding me now, but he never got the chance.
“Let him go!” Pearl appeared from somewhere, her sword pointed directly at Jimmy’s face. Jimmy immediately removed his hand from BigB’s shoulder, dropping his pickaxe from his other hand as he held them up. BigB flinched at the noise of diamond scraping against diamond.
Pearl, despite being focused on Jimmy, noticed.
“BigB?” she asked.
“I’m fine,” he nodded.
She stared at him for a minute. He stared back, though it was probably less of a stare and more of a terrified dear-in-headlights look.
“Jimmy,” she focused on him again. “Here’s how this is going to go. You’re going to let BigB go, and I will let you go, unharmed. But,” BigB saw Jimmy wince, because of course there was a but. “If you or any of the Bad Boys try this against anyone on this server, I will hunt. You. Down.”
Jimmy looked terrified. “Got it. You can go now, B.”
He stood up, and followed Pearl out the box. The second he stepped out, he winced and shut his eyes.
“BigB? Are you—”
“I’m fine, Pearl. It’s just bright out here,” he said.
“Do you wanna wait here for a minute?”
“I want to get back to our base.” He started walking towards the frog faces he could just see over the hill. Pearl followed him in silence.
They’d made it to their base when Pearl spoke again. “Did he hurt you?”
“No,” BigB said. Kind of the opposite, honestly. “You came.”
“Yeah,” Pearl said. “You called.”
