Chapter Text
Benjamin doesn't remember what caused it, but Nathan and him had gotten into a debate with each other, about glory, or something.
“ No- I don’t plan on dying for glory.” Nathan huffed, and turned to leave.
“ Then why do you crave it?!” Benjamin hissed. “ Oh, yea. Just leave.”
Nathan paused in the action of grabbing his coat, and turned to face Benjamin. “ Are you saying I’m scared of you, Tallamdge?” Nathan scowled.
“ Yes. As a matter of fact, yes. I am.” Benjamin sneered.
“ Well you are clearly mistaken.” Nathan grumbled.
“ Then why are you fleeing? Hm? Explain that, Hale.” Benjamin scoffed.
“ Because I know what shit is too far lost, motherfucker.” Nathan grumbled under his breath, and with that Enoch, who was still in the dorm, fled to let the two have their argument.
“ What did you call me..?!” Benjamin demanded Nathan to answer, which at this point, Nathan was reaching his breaking point, which was surprising, as he was a very calm person.
“ You heard me, did you not?!” Nathan turned to face Benjamin.
“ Oh, you think you're so smart.” Benjamin raised his hands in defeat.
“ I don’t think, I know.” Nathan walked closer to Benjamin.
“ Oh, well did you think or know about this?! “ Benjamin reared his hand back, backhanding Nathan.
It didn’t really hurt, but it still stung. Once Benjamin snapped out of his anger, and realized what he had done, Nathan had already punched him back.
Benjamin fell a lot harder than Nathan, and noticed Nathan looking over at Benjamin on the ground.
Nathan grabbed Benjamin's shirt, bringing him so he was face to face with him.
“ I do know that your voice is fucking driving me insane.” Nathan hissed, dropping Benjamin to the ground, and swiftly grabbed his coat once more, slamming the door behind him, leaving Benjamin alone.
Benjamin got up onto his feet, he wanted to follow Nathan, but he knew Nathan needed some time to cool off, and decided the best option was to read and sulk.
Returning to Nathan, who had decided to head to the harbor once more, was Enoch.
He had been on the way back to the dorm after leaving his friends, he noticed Nathan, who was normally glued to Benjamin, alone.
So Enoch slipped besides his younger brother.
“ Where's Benjamin?” Enoch asked, but Nathan just hid his face in his hands.
Enoch pried Nathan's hands away to see a fading slap mark, and a bit of bruising on Nathan's knuckles.
“ Oh, Nathan..You guys fought, didn’t you.” Enoch wrapped his arm around his brother., who just nodded.
Enoch acknowledged the small nod, and just held his brother. After a few seconds, Nathan sobbed quietly into Enochs shoulder, and Enoch let him.
A few minutes later, Nathan broke away from his brother, wiping his face with the back of his hand.
“ You two have to apologize to each other. I know you aren’t one to apologize.” Enoch suggested, and Nathan dipped his head in acknowledgement, dusting himself off, offering Enoch a hand, which he took.
Nathan and Enoch said nothing to each other on the way back to the dorm, and Enoch basically shoved his brother in the dorm, waiting outside for them to make up.
“ Nathan.” Benjamin rushed up to Nathan, but stopped before he got to close, so Nathan closed the gap.
“ I’m sorry, for punching you. And calling you a motherfucker, as well as calling you annoying.” Nathan mumbled.
“ Well, I’m sorry for slapping you, and doubting you.” Benjamin looked at Nathan, and wrapped his arms around him.
“ Hope this makes up for it, Pythias.” Benjamin quickly kissed Nathan, leading him to smile.
“ It’s accepted, Damon.” Nathan chuckled softly, and grabbed a paper from his pocket, basically shoving it in Benjamin's hand.
A poem, one that Benjamin actually planned on reading.
