Chapter Text
-Scorpius-
Albus stared at my hand.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"You were my best friend, it would've been weird..." I said.
"How long did you know?" Albus asked.
I looked down at the floor.
"Since we met on the train, first year."
"And you never said anything?" Albus asked incredulously.
"We were 11! We'd just met and I didn't think a Potter would want to be my friend, let alone my soulma-"
I was cut off by Albus kissing me. And nothing had ever felt so right.
-Lorcan-
I saw all three of the Mauraders Trio blast stunning spells at the woman. Rose Granger-Weasley ran over to Hugo and sat next to me, quickly performing healing charms. The woman tumbled to the floor unconscious. As she lost her hold on the spell, I saw Lysander catch Lily as she tumbled from mid-air.
"I think my father would like to deal with this one," James said.
"Mr. Potter! Mr. and Miss Weasley! How is it whenever there is trouble you three are in the middle of it?" Professor McGonagall came into the room looking at the three seventh years in disbelief.
"If you think I was going to let my baby sister be tortured-" James started.
"Oh my!" McGonagall said as she swept her lit wand around the room to see the rest of us and the unconscious woman.
McGonagall sighed. "Oh Dolores," she muttered.
"Everyone please help transport Miss Potter and Mr. Granger-Weasley to the hospital wing. I'll be calling in their parents."
Then McGonagall swept off.
-Albus-
When we broke apart I laughed.
"Dom and Molly definitely knew," I said.
"Rose probably told them. She's had it figured out for years now," Scorpius said.
"And she probably told Hugo, who told Lily and Louis, who then told James and Dom, and James told Freddy and Roxy and Dom told Molly," I said.
"Your family is nuts," Scorpius said.
We both laughed again and then I noticed something coming up to me. I stared at it.
A Patronus. James' a stag.
"Al, Lily's in the hospital wing come quick!" I heard my brother's voice say. Then the Patronus disappeared.

When Lily woke up she was surrounded by all of her cousins(minus Hugo), her brothers, and her parents. When everyone had finally left one person remained by her side.
-Lysander-
"Um, Lily?" I asked once everyone else had left. (Except for my brother who wouldn't leave Hugo's side, as he was still unconscious.)
"What is it?" she asked.
"You dropped this," I said as I handed her the picture of the lily.
"Oh!" she exclaimed. "I never did get to show you everything about it."
"Yeah, I saw on the back..." I trailed off. I flipped over the paper and stared at the writing.
TO: LILY
FROM: LYSANDER
"Somehow we knew each other as kids," Lily whispered.
"It's odd that we don't remember," I said.
"It is..." Lily whispered. "We must've been about six."
She stared down at her lap.
Six was when I started seeing color. Same with my twin. Same with Lily and Hugo.
It had seemed impossible, but now, if we had known each other as kids...
I pondered all this until Lily grabbed me and kissed me. When we finally broke apart.
She whispered, "Louis is gonna give me the biggest I told you so ever,"
"Why?" I asked.
"The Inkspill Incident," she said with a laugh. Then she explained.

It was another 48 hours before Hugo woke up. People worried he wouldn't make it, but Lorcan stayed at his side the whole time, no matter how much Madam Pomfrey had told him to leave.
"Mr. Scammander, you have to leave! You can't just keep missing class like this!"
"I can't leave him," Lorcan had whispered. Absent-mindedly he then had run his fingers over the scratches on his arm.
"What happened to you?" Madam Pomfrey asked. Lorcan said nothing and just pointed at the bandages on Hugo's arm. Madam Pomfrey then bandaged Lorcan's arm and let him stay.
-Hugo-
When I woke in the hospital wing, I struggled to remember what had happened. I remember the door flying open and then excruciating pain. I remembered the woman and her weird quill. I wondered if my soulmate had gotten the message.
"Lorc?" I whispered when I opened my eyes.
"Merlin, Hugo! You had everyone worried!" he said.
"How long was I out?" I asked as I sat up in the hospital bed.
"Over 48 hours," Lorcan replied.
"Who found me?" I asked.
"Me, Lysander, Lily, and Louis. Lily called James, who brought Fred and Roxanne, and Rose."
My tired brain didn't pause to question how they had found me. I didn't question how my soulmate hadn't been there.
"Did you get hurt?" I asked, pointing at the bandages on Lorcan's arm.
"Something like that," he said.
"I'm just really glad you're okay," he said. He threw his arms around me in a hug, which was unexpected but I hugged him back anyone.
Before I had realized what was happening he kissed me. And I kissed him back.
When we broke apart, Lorcan was grinning, and I smiled back at him.
Then I realized what had happened. I'd just kissed Lorcan Scamander, who most definitely was not my soulmate.
"Merlin! M-my soulmate.." I started. I groaned and put my head in my hands. The kiss had been amazing, but how when I had a soulmate out there who would be so upset if they ever found out?
"Hugo," I heard startling me out of my thoughts.
"Huh?"
"I said your name like five times," Lorcan said concerned.
I opened my mouth to say something but Lorcan stopped me.
"Wait," he said. I watched as he unwound the bandages around his arm, revealing cuts that spelled out:
I must not talk back to my elders
and beneath it
dungeon.
"How?" I asked incredulously. Lorcan laughed.
"Lily figured it out," he said.
At that moment Lily and Lysander burst in.
"I came as soon as I found out you were awake!" Lily said breathlessly.
Without barely pausing for breath she continued,
"Turns out, we all knew each other when were 6!"
"How come we don't remember?" I asked when Lily finally came up for air.
"Turns out, when the twins moved away, we were all upset. It was setting off our accidental magic, so your Mu8m wiped our memories of ever knowing them so the magical disasters would stop!" Lily gushed.
"I confronted my Mum about it the other day," she said with a grin.

Umbridge was back in Azkaban, and our main characters had found their soulmates at long last. Laughter echoed through the hospital wing as four friends finally knew the truth.
And Rose and Louis definitely had a lot of 'I told you so's.
