Chapter Text
The words hung in the air for a minute, as the clone of Miles mouth hung open for a moment, as Mikey’s eyes widened, “Is he like.. your long lost twin? Or something?” Michelangelo turned to face Miles. The other’s overly serious face faltered momentarily, into a genuinely confused face. “I dunno.” He shrugged.
“Mikey?” The other Miles mumbled. The two didn’t hear him, as his voice was just above a whisper, and traffic was started getting heavy on the street next to Uncle Aaron’s. So he repeated, “Mikey?” Again, loud enough for them to hear.
The turtle’s expression changed, “Waiiiit, what?” He was still overly expressive in this universe, talking mostly with his hands, “How do y’know my name? Did you like,” He turned to Miles, “Try to kill him and take his place? Don’t worry, I’ll still love you,” Mikey grinned. Miles gave a small smile in return, “No. Tío said he just appeared,” He responded.
“I’m from another universe,” The other Miles blurted out. The couple stared at him for a few seconds, then Miles snickered. “Sure, man. Whatever you say,” He stopped when he realized Mikey was actually thinking about what the other-him said.
Mikey thought for a few moments, “I kinda believe him. You remember when I did the stuff wit’ my hands? Don said that was a portal to another universe. It was kinda fucked up, y’know how it ended ‘nd all,” Miles nodded, “Oh. Yeah, I guess he.. could be. I dunno.” He didn’t bother to actually turn and ask the other version of himself.
The other Miles looked at him, surprised, “You have Kraang, too? And Leo got stuck in the Prison Dimension with one and almost died?” He asked. Mikey flinched at the mention of his brother, but ignored it, “..Yeah? Kinda how you said it? My Grams tried to, like, kill me ‘n my brothers when she got infected with some Kraang stuff. Wads ‘ah bubblegum, it was easy to get them out. Leo trapped them in a dimension but accidentally got himself stuck,” His tone missed the upbeat mark it was normally at, “‘Cause he’s a dumbass, then I like–“
Miles grabbed Mikey’s arm tightly, “Mike. We dunno what he is. Don’t tell ‘em all your secrets.” He spat coldly, his glare towards his lookalike just as icy. Mikey relaxed his muscles, “Yeah I guess. What were ya gonna do before I intruded?” He shrugged off Miles’ arm, which made the boy look momentarily hurt.
“Mikey’s your boyfriend?” The other Miles could feel his face getting warm, “Like, forreal?” The Prowler blinked, “Yeah? ..Why?” The copy tried to shift around in the ropes, causing Mikey to mutter something about them being stupid.
“Well in my universe,” Miles still honestly didn’t believe his twin was from another universe if he was being honest. “Me ‘n Mikey are just friends. I helped him out when Leo was injured and helped him sneak around some Kraang but.. that’s about it. I didn’t know we could get, like..” The clone was flushed and embarrassed as he hung his head, eyes focused on the floor.
Mikey shrugged, “If he’s anything like me, jus’ make ‘im some good food and I’ll fold,” He laughed. The other Miles cracked a smile, “Yeah, haha..” He shimmied his arm just enough so his web shooter was poking out of the ropes. He aimed the best he could and hoped he’d hit the fancy-looking gun on his twin’s table. He shot the web, and thankfully didn’t miss.
Everything felt slow as the rope was ripped in half; the knot didn’t fully come undone, but it loosened just enough so Miles could squeeze out of it. He didn’t get far, though, because Mikey’s instincts kicked in and he was already standing in front of Miles lookalike before he could make his escape through the window.
“Man, I thought we were gettin’ to know each other,” Mikey pouted like he was sad, but his eyes, gone completely white with determination, gave away his sarcasm.
