Chapter Text

Wedding planning was exhausting just like Satine had predicted it would be. It probably didn’t make it easier that she was going to have to do it so fast. A couple times she considered asking Obi-Wan if maybe they wanted to push it back another month or two. She knew that he would have been understanding.

But Satine didn’t want to do that. She might have a lot going on with her new job, going back to school to get a degree that would help her assist others, being pregnant, and taking care of her family, but she wanted to get married.

Though there were plenty of times that she thought about just going to the court house. That would be so simple after all. And what mattered most was that they would be married. And that they would get to spend the rest of their lives together.

Eventually the day came and Satine was worried. She knew that things didn’t have to be perfect but she wanted them to go as well as possible. She wanted all of her guests to be happy. The girls, who she thought she would be worried about, were actually doing well and she thought they would be fine with the wedding.

No… instead she was worried about what would happen with Anakin and Padme.

They had been having issues recently but they were going to the wedding together. Even if they had been broken up, they would still see each other there. Hopefully this would all go okay.

Padme would behave, but Anakin…

“Is everything okay?” Ahsoka asked. She and Bo were in the same room as Satine as Satine got ready. Both Ahsoka and Bo looked so beautiful in their matching dresses. Padme would also be a bridesmaid but she had disappeared somewhere. Hopefully not to speak to Anakin.

“Yes, I’m just…” Satine sighed. “I really would like to speak to Obi-Wan.”

“Isn’t that bad luck?” Ahsoka asked.

“Bad luck doesn’t exist,” Bo said, crossing her arms over her chest.

“I’m not worried about the superstition,” Satine said and she smiled at the girls. She really was proud of them. They were both doing so much better and adjusting well. She knew that both of them, especially Bo, had ways to go but still. “Can you two go get him for me?”

Ahsoka and Bo exchanged looks but then they went off to do just that. Satine looked at herself in the mirror. She loved the dress she had picked. It was a beautiful shade of white and even though she was pregnant, she had managed to find a dress that she had loved.

There was a knock on the door and then Obi-Wan came in. She grinned at him.

“Stars, Satine, you look beautiful,” he said as he went over and kissed her. “I’m the luckiest person.”

“I’m the lucky one,” Satine said as she hugged him.

“Maybe we both are,” Obi-Wan said. “But mostly me. Mostly me.”

She nodded but then sighed.

“Are you okay?” Obi-Wan asked as he touched her cheek.

“Yes, I’m just… I’m worried about…”

“About Anakin and Padme?” Obi-Wan asked. “Don’t worry about them. Everything is going to be fine, Satine.”

“I… Thank you for being patient with me all this time,” Satine said as she put her hand on her bump. It wouldn’t even be that long until the baby was born. The two of them had decided not to find out what the baby would be.

It would be a good surprise.

“Sweetie, waiting was best for the family,” Obi-Wan said. “And I love how much you care about family. I love how compassionate you are. It’s one of the reasons I fell in love with you.”

She paused and them kissed him softly. She then smiled and looked at him. “Today is going to go well.”

“Today is going to be perfect.”

And while it might not have been completely perfect, it was to Satine. The two of them were now married. They would get to spend the rest of their lives together and that was what mattered to her most.

She couldn’t believe how lucky she had gotten.

And to think if things had been different, she might not have ever seen Obi-Wan after that day in Leavenworth.

She would always be grateful that they had been reunited.

He was the love of her life.

Satine gave birth to a baby boy not long later. He was perfect and adorable and healthy. She was so happy. So ecstatic. Obi-Wan had been there the whole time and he had been great. So supportive.

The two of them still hadn’t been sure on a name, but eventually they settled on one.

“It reminds me of when we met,” Obi-Wan said as she laid in her hospital bed. The baby was on her and sleeping soundly. She already had a feeling that he would be very different than Korkie. She wondered just what he would be like when he was older.

She couldn’t wait to find out.

“How does it remind you of that?” Satine asked, looking at him. “It’s a wonderful name but how does it remind you of that?”

“Because Leon is Noel backward,” Obi-Wan said.

She smiled and then kissed him.

The next two years were perfect and crazy at the same time like family life always could be. The boys were both getting bigger and the girls seemed to be doing better all the time. Sometimes the two of them seemed like normal teenagers, which Satine loved even if it also drove her crazy at times.

They all really were a happy family.

Today Leon was sick and so Satine was staying home from work to take care of him. He was very fussy when he was sick like his father could be when he got even a cold. Satine was used to it though and was doing her best.

She didn’t expect anyone else would come today.

When she went to the door, she was even more surprised to see it was Padme and she had tears in her eyes.

Satine instantly pulled her into a hug. “What’s wrong? Is everything okay?”

Padme pulled away and shook her head. “No, everything isn’t.”

“Padme?” Satine asked as her stomach twisted. It wasn’t like her friend to get this upset. Satine had barely seen her cry. It seemed like usually Padme had been the one who was comforting her. But today that had switched.

Padme came into the house and then sniffled and wiped at her eyes. “I have to tell you something. Something horrible has happened.”

Satine paused but then nodded. “Okay, you can tell me anything.” She took her friend’s hands. “And I’ll do whatever I can to help you. Everything is going to be okay.”

She hoped she was right and everything would be okay, but she was going to be there for her friend no matter what.

Notes:

I will be doing a little prequel fic and maybe a sequel fic or two. Hope you all enjoyed the story.

Notes:

I hope you all liked this. I haven't actually been to Leavenworth yet, but I want to go. I don't think they actually have an ice rink there, but they do in this story. I hope I do okay at writing Padmé. I think this is the first time I've written anything with her in it. Thank you all for reading!
